Hi, what rom do you use for your rogers i747m? I am looking for one and can't decide, must of them look good and seems a good choice (for at&t variant)... I am looking for something stable with good (least as stock) battery life. What make you chose this one.
THANK's for your input
JS
Hyperdrive and wicked are on top of my list, supernexus (can't remember if compatible) is too
I just loaded CyanogenMod 10.1 a few days ago. Can't believe I waited so long.
I was experiencing lag (the ten seconds to dial issue, slow typing, etc) all the time, instability and overall a crappy user experience.
After loading CM 10.1 it was like I'd bought a new phone. It's remarkably fast (I can never remember it being this fast and I've had it for a year), the new android 4.2.2 features are great, and the battery life seems to have improved slightly.
I forgot to backup two apps so I may have to reload the old ROM, but I'll switch it back to CM 10.1 as soon as I have that data in hand.
Highly recommended.
Hmmm It really depends on what you are looking for. I also own a rogers Galaxy S3 btw. Keep in mind battery life differs for every people because they use it differently. Use Greenify on the play store to save some battery life.
The smoothest Rom I ever used was CM10.1. That was the first rom I've ever flashed on this phone and I rarely had problems. For the battery life, it depends on which rom I flash. I usually do get a slightly lesser battery life than usual.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778270
I also enjoyed Task650's AOKP Roms. It's similar to CM10.1 except there's more features on this rom. I admit I haven't flash this rom for a while so I don't know how smooth it got. Last time I used it was almost smooth as CM10.1. Battery life also depends on which version you flash. Sometimes I get terrible battery life or sometimes I get a similar stock battery life.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684
I've tried Hyperdrive rom..... and this thing has a LOT of features. I think its almost too much but it can't hurt I guess. You get similar battery life to stock, if you don't add too many features (Only thing I added was AOSP features and a bit of Samsung features). Only painful part about this rom was waiting for the rom to finish download because of it is large file
link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176793
I'm currently using Dandroid. This rom is basically running a mixture of Touchwiz + Cyanogen. You get a pretty similar stock battery life AND you get an AOSP experience. Since you like the SuperNexus and Hyperdrive roms, I think you'll like this as well.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2121506&highlight=multi+window
I haven't tried SuperNexus yet, but I will get to that when they release a newer build.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219944
And then there's liquidsmooth, ParanoidAndroid, PacMan, RootBox, etc..... So many to choose from
If you want good battery life, you probably want to use a rom that is based on Touchwiz (Android 4.1.2).
In my experience, roms based on CM10.1 or AOSP/AOKP tend to be smoother than touchwiz based roms, but Touchwiz based roms have better battery life. Not sure about other people. I would love to hear their experiences!

Sorry for wrong section. thought was more an opinion wanted than i need an answer.
I know that battery life will differ from one user to the next, since not the same usage, but if someone see an improvement on that manner than i should see an improvement.
Thanks for the imput, and keep bring them in

gapps there, but do i need to installed them (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip) or included in the dandroid rom. Running stock de-bloated (app freezed atm), do i need to reinstalle stock and than flash dandroid or cmw recovery flash dandroid (after clear cache/dalvik and all)
Download gapps from the ROM you downloaded. You can try flashing gapps but if doesn't work, you have to reflash your ROM. Factory reset, wipe cache /dalvik, flash ROM, flash gapps.
You don't need to go back to stock. Just clean flash

There you go
OP, if you are installing a TW ROM you don't need to install any gapps. The gapps are included in the ROM.
For AOSP, AOKP, etc type ROMs you need to flash a separate gapps package that is usually linked in the ROM thread.
You can download http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip which is for 4.1.2 or you can just ask which gapps can I use in the OP.
Information from the developer
All apps updated to 4.1.2 versions.
Google Play Store updated to 3.9.16.
Should be backwards-compatible with 4.1.1.
Does NOT contain the leaked Gmail with pinch-to-zoom. GApps do not include leaked/test versions of Play Store applications, especially when the signing key differs from the Play Store version(s).

Hi guys
I have this galaxy w which I had the stock rom with gingerbread.
I was searching for a custom rom for the phone and saw that there were cm9 cm10 and cm11.
I installed the new cm11 by arco68 but I'm having problems with the battery with greenify already installed.
During the night when I was asleep in 3 hours used 10% of my battery.
I'm new in roms and android development, so can anyone help me and tell me the differences between each cm version?
Any version is more lighter with the battery?
What can I do improve the battery use?
Thanks in advance
Try CM9

For me now the best battery saving ROM + kernel is CM 9 and hurtsky's kernel, it is just awesome, if you need battery then this is the right combination for you
CyanogenMod 9 + Hurtsky's Kernel.

Hi, I am new to installing ROM, I have study about 3 days and decided to apply darkCM11 with khan kernel, as you mentioned,
I installed CM11 and it worked, but The device was warm and battery drained fast, I installed it again with following tuterials and format sdcard0 this time, it get better but the main problem is to install/flash another kernel or update like khan kernel or philz touch, they are failed with status 7 ,
I tried to removed assert line from updater_script but it didn't work, It seems the os is now heavier than these works and I am confused right now,
please help me :
1- what to do first, should I install CM11 from scratch ?
2- for istalling khan kernel should I install Philz touch? and if so, what I should to do with the status 7 problem
I have installed CMR 6.0.4.5 and it works,

Every cm or Aosp ROM is better than stock, although if you are on 4.4.2 and you flash an aosp ROM you will face some backlight issues that can be solve with AIC kernel,I suggest you to go back in stock 4.2.2 and then install Philz Recovery and root of course,I got problems with tarp, philz works great, right now I'm using Dirty Unicorns without any issues and the tablet feels much smoother, its your call

You are already in right place!!!is your tablet rooted?have you custom recovery?notice that is you root your tablet your warranty will be void!!
So if something goes wrong you will stay with a beautiful bricked tablet...
You must search before you will procide to this situation, for example, which model you got?eupore one or us carrier?
you can see that in settings on about tablet, then you will need the right tools and a computer to execute the commands,i recoment to to see some youtube videos before you will do anything and first of all make sure you will do a nandroid backup if something goes wrong.
Good luck!

Hey friend welcome to the forum!
I'm running Mahdi latest and last build.
And redKernel.
But you have to test all ROMs out and decide for yourself,
This ROM is better then that ROM talk is usually looked down upon here on XDA as every ROM developer spend alot of time on there ROM for the community.
Only advise I can give is test all ROMs and decide what one you like best
As far as Kernel you can go redKernel for CM AOSP ROMs.
Or
AIC for stock based (you can flash AIC for CM as well.)
But on stock ROM, AIC Kernel can overclock CPU and GPU slightly
Not trying to hijack the thread, but I've got my tablet currently on 4.4.2 (it's a v500 like op's) and I'm considering moving away from stock. However it seems that one of the downsides is that you lose the IR ability on the tablet. Is this correct? Are there other features that go missing when you move to a custom rom?

if you debloated and make knox-free, stock rom will have good battery life, better camera, and samsung framework features (things you lost in custom rom)
if you want to try a custom rom, i recommend you try Mokee (stable) with last Fak Kernel, mokee has an amazing saving power feature and is the more stable rom (in my opinion), with fak kernel with right settings and undervolt (see in fak thread, or pm me) you will get the best battery life, my goals are the same as yours (battery life), and i already try almost every rom here (right now iam trying LiquidSmooth, but i did not like it...will try next the S5 proyect, and wait for official 4.4.4 to test, but until now, mokee is my prefered rom
Dont know if last fak kernel is working with mokee, when a try it some time ago it give me FC, but i think last version works, cause iam using it with liquismooth right now, but even with the stock mokee kernel, it has amazing battery life.

I'am using last version, get some random reboots (i think its because of fak kernel and undervolt...) i miss some launcher options like mokee have (i know i can change launcher...) i found the rom a little confusing, the way the settings are in config options, and there are too much thinks i dont use and dont like like (side app bar, pie control...etc) .
The rom is good, its just my PERSONAL taste, i like it clean, iam a big fan of mokee, and stock rom, just go to a custom rom for 4.4.4 and better battery like i like i say, just waiting for official 4.4.4 - the quality of camera we loss in custom rom its a big point for me to go back when its released

Hi guys, first of all let me apologize up front for posting this question without knowing whether it has been answered billion times before. It's my first Samsung phone after having Motorola for a long time and the transition to the new apps and vocabulary is not that straightforward.
I've got an I-9190 running 4.2.2 from a carrier and they still haven't upgraded to 4.4. But when I entered to the website above, there's a 4.4.2 firmware for my country and my device. The upgrade seems rather easy, but I'm not sure whether it will run or not. I would really like to upgrade to 4.4.2 and I'm quite confident I'd be able to do it using Odin, but my question is if that firmware could run on my device. Any tips are welcome.
Thanks!
Hello,
My GF's S4 Mini is 2 years old, not a single hard reset, with unrooted stock ROM.
She is happy with performance and with phone in general but battery is bust, it barely holds for 10 hours with light to medium use.
She uses her phone for WhatsApp, Messenger and occasionally taking some photos.
I am not sure though which version does she have. I can find out that later today but meanwhile I would be grateful for your advice.
It doesn't have to be the newest ROM version, it has to be reliable, with good battery and preferably with stock camera app.
Thank you!
There is no perfect rom. Keep the rom she is using. Change the battery , after 2 years is busted as u said
It could also be old problem that battery was draining fast even with 3g/wifi/gps OFF. That`s a motherboard problem that can be fixed by changing motherboard or with a custom kernel that have the fix implemented. Stupid thing is, after u install a custom kernel, u need to root phone and disable Knox apps or they will bother u. Search what version of S4 mini she have, what rom she have and start from there to search. I have for example some kernels with fixes for that problem, but first read on forums.
The above being said and valid...
... I find that this ROM: Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.8-20151026-serranodsdd
works pretty well for me. It is stable enough. You would have to root and stuff but its worth a try.

+1. RR LP 5.5.8 is very stable and battery friendly and also Blisspop 4.0.3 last two versions are good enough. BUT, in these 2 fantastic roms i have found a major bug (at least for me) that during incoming calls most of the times my contacts dont show up their names (only numbers) or sometimes very lately. I asked the devs about the problem but did not get any reply. So m back now to PAC rom KK 4.4.4, i used it for around 4 months continuously before i tried lollipop roms. Stable, good battery(05/01/2015 version) and hell lot of features.
N.B: The above is based on my experience only. It may very from person to person. And also it does not imply that other roms are worse or better, because i have not tried all of them.
What I have observed is temperature and the kernel have big impacts on battery drain. Stock 4.4. drains the battery much slower than 4.2., and the Cyanogenmod kernels also use up less juice than the stock roms.
the same
I have same issue. 2 or more years i9195 with stock 4.4.2 android. Battery drain is about 1%/hour at idle (sleep). When using it raises to 2-5%/hour. I want any other ROM or kernel that drains less battery. Please help
My phone has almost two years. Battery remains excellent. No tricks, such as calibration, etc.
In my experience the best ROM Stock based is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...t/gt-i9192-galaxy-s4-mini-duos-4-4-2-t2832673 .
I never installed another kernel, etc. in its use. I tried several ROMS CM based but always came back to this rom for stability, reliability, battery.
But lately I have been interested in Android M.
And I was already giving up again when I decided to use CM13 (feb / 21) by K2wl without GAPPS (Open GAPPS) or Custom Kernel.
My intention is to test CM13 in its purest possible code.
So far it has been amazing. No call issues, great battery (as in SilviuMik ROM). etc
I'm curious. Will this time be able to use a ROM CM based for more than two weeks without problems with Call and battery? If this happens it will be worth testing other GAPPS.
for ADR USR

I do not think so. But this is not a problem. Just try the kernel to 95:

I believe that all you need. I never got to use debloated version of this ROM. I'd rather do it manually.

Hello,
My GF's S4 Mini is 2 years old, not a single hard reset, with unrooted stock ROM.
Thank you!

I used the official CM12.1 nightlies (& kernal) for about a year on my I9195, in the first few months I did get almost weekly random restarts, as you might expect on a nightly, but towards year end almost none. Then I installed the last Snapshot YOG9 (or whatever) and didn't get a single reboot in months.

Currently I'm on an unofficial version of same CM12.1 that has latest monthly security updates patched (which will be built until a stable release of CM13 is out) as the official CM12.1 development has stopped due to CM13. I've not had a single crash or reboot on this CM12.1 ROM, so that's about 6mths with no problems all together.

My wife is on CM12.1 (NightOwl) too on her old Note N7000, she has not had a single problem in the 2mths since I installed it. So long story short I'd say almost any version of CM12.1 is now very stable (provided you clear caches etc when installing and don't load dodgy apps )
CM13 version not suggested yet?
The best choice is the updated CM12.1?

I have been using cm13 nightlies ever since it came out. Almost updated every new package. Since then i had to revert it twice. For me so far it's stable. Using it with gapps pico. But do nog use any extended cm13 roms like bliss or rr, as they are highly unstable, lagy and full of buggs.
Have a nice day to all. I have an i9192 (GT-I9192ZKAAFR, S4 mini DUOS) with the latest original I9192XXUBNB1 ROM and the CSC is I9192OJVBNB1 (AFR / Kenya / AE). I have to use this phone again and it is horrible. Often becomes hot and unresponsive. Sometimes just simply shutdown itself or reboot. That is why I moved to another phone but that is in service now. Otherwise this is an amazing little device. I decided that it is time to take steps towards to a more stable ROM. Phone has Knox and it is still 0x0. Manufactured in 2013 and bought in 2014 so support has definitely gone. Therefore I am not really keen on Knox status but would be great to keep 0x0.
I am a Hungarian user and I would like to use Hungarian language on the phone. I see some ROM recommendation here. Is that true for Hungarian language as well? What about different region, modem or so? Are these ROMs working on my device? Is it possible to revert my phone to any factory version? I am not familiar with flashing ROM on this phone but read some tutorials and more or less trained.
Hi,
I'm on Exodus (+ Gapps pico) & very happy by the quality of this rom. (I haven't tried many other roms though)
