Increase Audio Levels - 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried Hashcode's CM 10.2 and 11 but both seem to have the same problem with very low audio levels out of the built-in speakers. It seems that at 100% I'm only getting about 1/2 - 3/4 the volume I experienced with the stock Amazon ROM when using apps like Netflix, Youtube, HBO Go, etc.
On top of that issue I've also found that none of the volume boosting apps on the Market, which worked perfectly with the stock Amazon ROM, work with Hashcode's CM builds. I've found some threads for modding CM files to boost audio but those files don't seem to exist in these Kindle builds.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might boost my audio volume? Thank you in advance for any help you may offer!

OK there is a file you can adjust but I would recommend installing viper4android. I Don t have a link to the thread but Google it, it will probably have the first result being an xda thread, follow its instruction for the extra times you put on the sdcard, but other than that just install it, I wouldn't worry about the stuff it says to check for in the built.prop and putting it in the system apps folder. Long story short not only will this increase your audio output, you can also add immense am mounts of bass and stuff. Amazing app.

I am sure I got this from a post on this forum and it worked GREAT for me as it almost doubled the sound output. Give it a try and let me know.

This worked for me, I did find that those settings made it a bit too loud and it distorted pretty badly so i tweaked it down a bit and it was much better! Netflix is a tolerable volume now, music needs to be kept a bit lower though.

120-100-4 respectively has been working out fine for me.

[MOD] Camera - Image/Video/Audio Bitrate Increases for Best Quality [NEW PROFILES!]

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY NEGATIVE IMPACTS OR CONSEQUENCES ON YOUR PHONE IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO USE THIS GUIDE.
It had come to my attention that recording for long periods of time will result in large file sizes when using my mod. For this reason, I have now created different profiles to increase quality in either images or video/audio, including a new experimental version!
It has been stated that stock 1080P video runs around 20Mbps on the G2 (I consistently have 30Mbps). These mods can increase 1080P video to approximately 40-50Mbps. 720P, images, and audio Kbps can also be increased to max potential. The following steps help you unleash the best quality on the G2 camera!
WARNING: INCREASED BITRATES MEANS MORE STORAGE SPACE IS TAKEN UP.
PREREQUISITES
1) You MUST be rooted.
2) You MUST have recovery installed.
3) Download 1 of 6 media profiles:
media_profiles.xml (Increases to Image/Video/Audio)
media_profiles.xml (Increases only to Image)
media_profiles.xml (Increases only to Video/Audio)
media_profiles.xml (Stock)
media_profiles.xml (Experimental - Further Increases to Image/Video/Audio)
media_profiles.xml (Experimental - Further Increases solely to Image)
NOTE: I have tested the experimental Image/Video/Audio version. The image is a tad bit better. The video seems more stabilized and averages around 45Mbps. Audio stays about the same.
4) Download either Jishnu Sur's version 1 or version 2 mod (I prefer version 1). He now has version 2.5, 2.5.1, and 2.5.2, but only 2.5.2 has been successfully tested with my mod.
5) Download the stock file to revert from Jishnu Sur's versions.
MOD METHOD #1 (RECOMMENDED) - Requires most files from above.
1) Place all the downloaded files somewhere in the phone.
2) Boot into recovery.
3) Flash the stock zip.
4) Reboot system.
5) Boot back into recovery.
6) Flash the Jishnu Sur mod downloaded.
7) Reboot system.
8) Use a file explorer (like Root Explorer) app to open the folder where the downloaded media profiles file is.
9) Rename the media profiles file to be "media_profiles.xml".
10) Copy the media_profiles.xml file.
11) Navigate up to the root folder and go the "etc" folder.
12) Paste the media_profiles.xml file.
13a) A message may appear asking for rewrite (R/W) capability. Select "yes".
13b) A message will appear asking to confirm overwriting the current version. Select "yes".
14) Reboot the phone 1-4 times.
INSTALLATION METHOD #2 - Requires only the media_profile.xml and Stock file from above.
1) Place all the downloaded files somewhere in the phone.
2) Boot into recovery.
3) Flash the stock zip.
4) Reboot system.
5) Use a file explorer (like Root Explorer) app to open the folder where the downloaded media profiles file is.
6) Rename the media profiles file to be "media_profiles.xml".
7) Copy the media_profiles.xml file.
8) Navigate up to the root folder and go the "etc" folder.
9) Paste the media_profiles.xml file.
10a) A message may appear asking for rewrite (R/W) capability. Select "yes".
10b) A message will appear asking to confirm overwriting the current version. Select "yes".
11) Reboot the phone 1-4 times.
REBOOTS: The reason for the last step is that it needs at least one reboot (but probably two) to increase the quality of video. The images should already be at their highest quality.
AUDIO ISSUES: If the issue where audio can no longer be heard occurs, it has been confirmed that going back to stock and repeating the steps fixes this.
QUALITY INCREASES: I found that after at least one (as many as four) reboot I was getting extremely high video bitrates; between 38Mbps and 50Mbps! The image quality should increase above stock as well as above Jishnu Sur's mods. Audio increases between 190-210Kbps.
MOD DIFFERENCES: I found a few differences in these mods. Jishnu Sur's version 1 seems to help with focus and a few other things. His version 2 adds to his first by restricting high ISO or low FPS in low-lit areas. His newer versions decrease bitrates. My mod increases the quality of images and videos above Jishnu Sur's, but does not have the other features.
PREVIEW OF IMAGES AND VIDEO: Here is a large zip file of images I took while testing. There were an abundance from my reboots, but I only chose one set per folder since the file is almost 70MB!
HOW TO CHECK QUALITY:
Images - Check the storage sizes of two or more images. Open an image in Preview or any viewer that can zoom. Zoom in on the curtains. Open the other image(s) for comparison and perform the same amount of zoom. Compare the clarity (sharpness) of the images.
Video - Check the storage sizes of two or more videos. Right-click on a video and click Properties. Click the Details tab. Check the bitrate of the video. Right-click on the other video(s) and perform the same actions. Compare the difference in bitrates.
A quick lesson on Lighting (ISO, FPS, Exposure): The higher the ISO the more light for the camera, but with more noise in the image. The lower the frame rate (FPS) the more light for the camera, but less smoothness for video. Exposure can help you compensate for images (or parts of images) that come out too bright or dark. Exposure should be used when optimal ISO or FPS settings have been found and changing them will alter quality in some manner.
Credits: Jishnu Sur for his mods.

You should not have to create a SkyDrive account as I have it open for public download. I logged out of my account, tested it, and I had no problem accessing it. Please check again and reply if the problem persists for you.

I'm a bit confused, his mod, or mine? If the audio occurs after his (it doesn't for me), you can try my mod without his. My mod is purely for quality increases. I have done this for other phones before and never lost audio.

I would have to say no just from the test files I have. I think the statement refers to media profiles that have yet to be altered (stock settings), which would definitely bring down your bitrates (back to stock).

also, the videos that were recorded with your media profiles didn't work correctly on my PC. they would freeze up and wouldn't play right...then i went back to his media profiles and it worked fine. weird.

Okay, now were getting somewhere. It is odd this works for me without issues, but not for you. One thing I can think of is I flashed another zip at the same time when flashing his.
Maybe you can help diagnose this issue with me. First, what variant of G2 do you have (I assume an American carrier)? Second, would you be willing to undue his mod and try just my mod to see the results? These two things would tell me a lot about what is happening...

From another thread a user modding the media_profiles didnt see any changes to vids and images r u sure it works for anything except for codec checks? Make sure the modded apk, libs and media_profile all match with the same bitrate and settings perhaps.

These can be hit or miss on different phones. On my S4 changes to the media profile would not take if replaced. I could change the values in-file and they would stay, but the quality would not change at all. On my ZTE U950, the file would indeed change and improve.
This mod works with more than just the codec checks, here are a few simple reasons why:
1) You can check the audio in the my media profile. The audio in the file is at 320Kbps, however, the video file for preview is a bit above 192Kbps. So this should disprove that only codec checks are being done since the audio is not being pumped up as high as I would like (yet).
2) The video storage sizes are also different, and if they were at the same bitrates (even if the codec read differently) the sizes should be similar since they are of similar length and content.
3) I performed some basic math to determine what percentage of my Jishnu Sur preview video is compared to my preview video. How does this help? If the storage size and bitrate percentages come out about the same, then the codec should be displaying the correct information since the storage sizes can't be incorrect. Both came out to about 83%. I can provide this simple equation if people wish to check for themselves.
I do welcome the question and any others people may have. People should make informed decisions before using mods.
Hello, first i want to thank you for your work.I have the Korean F320S model and i have the same problem with audio too.I dont think its model dependent as it seems.I did the same as the other guy, flashed the other mod and after that pushed your profile in.Im willing to help with the issue if you have something i can try.

TIP #1:
If your G2 stock earbuds fit your ear canals really well, see if they fit on your other earphones!
I tried these G2 ear buds on my ie-80 in-ears and i can honestly say they give the best seal i have had in 7 months since getting these earphones!
The G2 buds have an abnormally large hole diameter which allows alot more high/mid range through than my previous sets. Stoked!
TIP #2:
Clean your in-ear headphones regularly, scotch tape works great!
Pull off the earbuds and carefully dab (do not rub) each the earphone housing speaker grills repeatedly with sticky part of the scotch tape to remove any wax/dirt buildup.
Repeat this once every 1 - 2 weeks to ensure longer life/good sound of your earphones.
If possible store your in-ears in a clean container/sealed carry pouch so they do not collect dust/lint/dirt from your pockets.
Thanks for the mod. Tested a FLAC song with stock music player on speakers. Max volume and no distortion.

Great to hear!
On a note of personal note, i had viper4android installed on my LG G2 but with these modifications,
i ended up uninstalling it as i was primarily using it for volume boost purposes as opposed to signal shaping/eq-ing.
I also found that viper4android would work randomly with some files but not others.
IMO Volume boosting should work consistently at all times, across the board.
From the purist/consistency train of thought this volume mod will give you consistent volume boosting and more power to your headphones (fuller sound) without altering/degrading the already superb audio signal, or adding digital noise.
That being said, viper4android is a great app for shaping the sound signature, which is what it is primarily designed for.
For me, "the closer to the original source, the better"
Much improved sound. Thanks.

This is an external Speaker and Headphone Volume level modification.
It is what I feel "should have been" the stock "happy medium" audio levels for the LG G2.
The DAC audio quality coming from the LG G2 is excellent.
This modification brings the listening sweet spot down to 50% volume level instead of the 80-90% volume range at stock.
Stock levels did not push test headphones as well.
Benefits:
- Removes the need for 3rd party audio VOLUME BOOST apps
- Does not alter DAC raw audio signal quality
- Provides optimized signal drive for higher ohm headphones
- Improved audio fullness
- Improved low end at optimal listening levels
This MOD works with:
All LG G2 Carriers
This Mod Affects:

2. Locate the file called: "snd_soc_msm_Taiko"
3. Copy this file to your storage as a backup in case you decide to revert back to stock.
4. Download the "snd_soc_msm_Taiko" file to your phone: http://www44.zippyshare.com/v/67179492/file.html
5. Once complete, paste the downloaded "snd_soc_msm_Taiko" file into: /system/etc/snd_soc_msm
Choose yes to overwrite the existing file.
6. Restart your phone, and test external speaker and headphones with starting with volume at 0%
7. If this improved your G2 audio, say thanks, and enjoy your music!

Permissions should not make a difference in this case, however you can set them to rw~r~~r~~ for the file as shook mentioned using root explorer.
Mine are currently set to rw~rw~r~~ and there is no difference in performance.

Really.
Well not giving thanks where its due, is even more lame, not to mention it is Thanksgiving today after all..
1. For what its worth i stumbled on this file in my G2 looking through sys etc files as a result of modding my note 2 last year in similar fashion, when i was looking for volume boosting without 3rd party apps at the time.
2. I have spent time testing to ensure i get the levels right on a fair range of equipment, and i feel others should be entitled the chance to benefit from this as well.
3. That thread that i ended up finding (and linking out of courtesy regardless) is pretty convoluted and a bit of a mess, labelled ATT (i am on Bell and this is a universal fix, not just ATT), and realistically only addresses speaker volume.
4. I have provided a working tested version of the file that G2 owners can use if they choose; not everyone is comfortable/has time/patience to edit/test settings in order to enjoy the untapped potential their phones have to offer.
5. I was in actuality not soliciting (seeing as we are NOT selling anything here), but making a factual observation through my thanks post, and the same applies to all positive dev/mod work.
You're welcome.
thanks, audio seems improved and much higher.
maybe a bit too high.. I can't set volume up to middle.

The version i posted on this thread works fine with no issues.
I have tested the scenarios detailed in your post using 2 different cell phone lines, calling my g2 from another cell, and vice versa.
Both with speaker mode enabled/disabled, and with/without headphones.
Mic works fine in both cases for me, no issues here on my Bell version G2.
I do not currently have a pair of headphones with microphone built in to test that format though, if anyone else can test that would be great.
Please clarify carrier, whether phone is stock or not, whether has he done any file edits after the fact, etc.

Permissions should not make a difference in this case, however you can set them to rw~r~~r~~ for the file as shook mentioned using root explorer.
Mine are currently set to rw~rw~r~~ and there is no difference in performance.
I have updated with step 6 as optional. Cheers!

[Q] Volume boost on CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica)

Hi all!
With the help of this forum I managed to get CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica) working an my Ace 2! Hurray!! This breathed new life into my smartphone!
Right now I have the minor problem that the volume (loudness) of the music is too low when using headphones.
There are some apps in the google play store but these are adressed to Gingerbread not Jelly Bean. So they will not help I guess.
I suspected some settings in a system file, made a search and found these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400231
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168836
But both threads mention files or directories which I do not find in my system directories (using the file explorer of CM).
Does anybody know where I can find the right files containing the volume settings in CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica)?
Maybe its silly question but do You set full permission in file manager options ?
While the listening music you can try slightly turn headphone jack. This may be help to you. I experienced this problem and solved with this way. By the way you can find and tune some sound settings in Sound Manager (Headphone / Speaker / Bluetooth etc.)

Full permission to what? As mentioned above I did not find any of the config files which were describes in the links above.
I guess I first have to find these config files. In CM 10.2 for Ace 2 they seem to be at an other place or have an other file name.

Thanks, I will try that.
Regarding the sound settings I have already found these sound settings. I turned off the sound limiter in the settings and pushed the volume up toas far as it will go. But unfortunately the volume is still too low. When using the headphones with an older Ipod Touch I hear the music significantly louder.
Hi. I have same problem. After try few mods like awesomebeats (after flash I have bootloop) I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203255 - you can change setting and add few feature to sound driver. It's work great for our problem.

[REQ] SRS Sound Mod for OG!

I think that SRS enhancement makes music sound better, much better than DSP or Beats, at least in my old HTC Desire HD, i miss such a great SRS, but I need power, so i bought OG Could someone port this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353148 ?
Have you tried Viper4Android? Very nice music enhancement...

Is Viper4Android compatible with OG? I downloaded zip pack from vipersaudio.com , when i was trying to flash it (i use Philz Touch Recovery , CWM based) , i got "installation aborted" message. Tell me, what i should do, because I'am very curious, i hope that mod mentioned by you is not so crappy as Noozxoide (it had only compessor working, any other fx didn't gave me any difference on very good headphones)
Yes it's. Others users have installed it. Search here in XDA the apk file.
edit: link --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2456073
If you get a zip (probably you got it but don't install trough cwm), unzip and install as a normal apk and follow instructions,

Oh, thank you Viper4Android provides really good sound, it has great benefits (but some drawbacks too).
I haven't tried Convolver yet, because i did'nt downloaded plugins yet. .
My feelings are that:
-Bass is not so powerful as I wanted, but it's quite natural
-Higher freqs are good, i think they are better than using DSP Manager
-I like so much Haas Surroround effect, but it lowers bass
-Other Surroround effects are just bad as DSP Manager Virtual Surroround effect.
-In my opinion FIREqualizer is the same as in DSP Manager
But there are the main disadvantages:
-Even if the bass is so low (i mean deep), it's distorted a bit, when there's a bit more of bass. SRS provides ultra low freq, pumping bass without any distortion.
-Midtones and sound dynamics, there's no "WOW" effect, there's no depth they are a bit flat I remember well how SRS made midtones were so intense, like SRS could auto-fit to every other song/tracks.
Your suggestion helped me much, anyway if someone will port SRS to our phones, i'll try this "beauty"
Old love will not be forgotten:laugh:

So...here you can have some problems because:
-stock player (you mean LG's player?), problably it won't work, you have to use any music player which support external equalizer (try Google Music Player, or Apollo).
-if you you Superuser instead SuperSu, you can have problem with V4A
-if you have any other "Equalizer app" like DSP Manager or Awesome BEATS, or AC!D or Noozxoide, you should delete them and restart the device, or just run V4A, go to V4A's Settings and try safe/compability mode, and restart of course
I not am sure, will it be working on stock, but it's working on CM based roms, you can try modded stock roms like SAVVY or Epsilon

- Yes I mean stock LG music player (Tried poweramp but no success again)
- I have superSu.
- I dont have any other equlazer app.
- I also think that it is because of stock launcher.
The last thing I havent tried yet is the Apollo music app.
And could you also please tell me where are those drivers are installled?
After I install V4A and its drivers, I do not see any driver folder in my folders.
thanks again,

Hello,
The problem is that sometime it is working and sometime not. I have stock and shuttle player. I have got it to work on stock as on shuttle, but not every time. You can check by selecting driver status in Vfx (for headset or phone speaker) if it is enabled as well if it is working.
When it work, its great.
I am also rooted and on stock rom.

I think the problem is stock rom...maybe it doesn't support external eq's. Just try stock modded like Epsilon or SAVVY. Don't worry, you can backup your app data (savegames, and various in-app settings) by using Titanium Backup. V4A is working for sure in any CM based rom. So I recommend you flashing Vanir, PAC-Man or ThinkingBrigde.
any problems that can be (if you really want to stay on your current rom):
-when you launch V4A app first time, does it asks you for SuperUser/root permission? It must asking for root permisions, without this, it won't work
-how did you installed V4A? flashing it from .zip file is not the best idea, my suggestion is downloading it from Play Store (yep, this one with chineese or japanese chars)
BTW, it was using V4A but I'm not so pleased from using it. When I found my fav presets for some songs, they were sounded (sorry 4 my english) much better, i felt they are wider in sound, but when I listened other songs, which they was surroround effects (stereo effects-yep, I am talking about electronic dance music) without modifying sound, with the same presets, all the effect was worse than without V4A. Generally, some some sound better, some worse using it. Furthermore V4A, distortes bass a bit too much, so instead of ultra loooow and clear bass, we have sth nice but distorted , even with using limiter. It's only my opinion, but trust me I am almost audiophile (lol) . I think the genius of SRS WOW HD (the same as in Desire HD) is that, it's changes own presets dynamically, depending of songs (omg, what a shame that SRS is ported for Optimus L7 but not our OG ).
You can try AC!D Sound Mod too, it should be working using stock rom, but I'm not sure if it's fully working, it has some partial bugs and missing some features. The most universal Equalizer at this moment is DSP Manager

If you are using ViPER4Android please try this:
Ultimate Music Effects Mods and Settings
This is a tutorial on using audio mods and settings to achieve maximum sound quality from the devices you are using. Any decent pair of headphones or earphones are capable of delivering much higher quality sound than they do using default device settings and equalizers, and you'll be surprised how far a little tweaking will take your whole music experience.
Mods You Will Need
The magic is made possible entirely thanks to ViPER's Audio,http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2191223, which you will need to install to use the settings described in this thread. Visit the ViPER's Audio page (linked above) and follow their instructions listed in their thread to get ViPER4Android FX installed on your device.
You will also need DSP Manager for a single setting in this tutorial, I've attached the APK for DSP Manager 2.0
The Settings
Once you have ViPER4Android FX and DSP Manager installed, use the following settings to take your music to a whole new level.
ViPER Settings...
MASTER POWER
Enable: This must of course be enabled to switch on the music effects.
PLAYBACK GAIN CONTROL
Enable: Enable PlaybackAGC
Effect Strength: Moderate
Max Gain: 4x
Max Output: -1.9dB
Leave FIREQUALIZER, CONVOLVER, FIELD SURROUND, DIFFERENTIAL SURROUNND, HEADPHONE SURROUND +, and REVERBERATION disabled.
DYNAMIC SYSTEM
Enable: Enable dynamic system.
Select Listening Device: Set to Common Earphone V2
Select Dynamic Bass: Set to 33%
Tube Simulator: Leave tube simulator disabled
FIDELITY CONTROL
Enable Viper Bass: Enable Viper Bass
Select Bass Mode: Set to 40Hz (I've chosen this because it significantly enhances the bass experience in music, by making the bass more "felt" than heard. This makes bass feel more powerful and realistic, but because it requires a decent set of earphones or headphones to actually work properly. By setting the Bass Boost higher for less powerful speakers, it may be possible to achieve the desired bass effect. If bass seems too weak at 40Hz, feel free to set it to 60Hz or even 100Hz as required. Because 40Hz takes real speaker power to pull off, I've noticed that for most earphones it makes bass crisp and powerful without completely overpowering music.)
Select Bass Boost: 10.0dB (for use with a Bass Mode of 40Hz on most headphones and earphones, but may be adjusted as needed on less powerful speakers)
Enable Viper Clarity: Enable Viper Clarity
Select Clarity Mode: Set to XHiFi (I've found that XHiFi enhances the highs and vocals much more effectively than Natural, and really emphasizes sounds that may not even have been heard before)
Select Clarity: Set to default (This ensures that even though highs and vocals are more prominent, they are not overpowering)
AUDITORY SYSTEM PROTECTION
Enable Cure Tech+: This setting is completely optional. Leaving it unchecked ensures that every single detail of music is still heard, while checking it slightly removes very high highs and protects your hearing.
Select Binaural Level: If you do enable Cure Tech+, I'd recommend at least a Moderate setting to truly benefit from the setting. It doesn't have too much of a negative impact, and after getting used to it, music still sounds amazing.
MASTER GATE (LIMITER)
Output gain: 0dB
Channel Pan- 0.5:0.5
Limit Threshold: 0dB
DSP Manager Settings...
The only thing you need to change in DSP Manager is setting
DYNAMIC RANGE COMPRESSION
Enable: Enable Dynamic Range Compression
Select Effect Strength: Extreme
(This brings all elements of the music to an equal volume, which makes music much more detailed and brings out sounds you never heard before, while keeping any bass or vocals from becoming too powerful)
You can double check all of these settings in the images attached.
Remember to hit the Thanks button if your music has never sounded better

You need to change the UI to Expert.
I've not installed DSP Manager at the moment and I've changed only the parameter in bold to 6dB, because the sound was a little bit low...
Edit: I advice to keep DSP Manager, the sound improvement is notable!
Hey guys,
I don't know if this fits in this thread, but you were already speaking about it.
So my question is: How to get Viper4Android flawlessy working on the Optimus G? I have tried it many times and with different versions on the stock rom (rooted of course), but when i got i to work and rebooted the phone it didnt work anymore.
It only worked with Neutron Music Player and then I rebooted the phone and it didnt work!

I don't have any problem with volume of speaker but earphone volume seems a bit low when using poweramp
Yeah, I was wondering how to increase the volume even more, especially so that I don't miss important calls or texts.
the volume is lowest ever made on smartphones! any tweaks??

Viper does nothing for volume
The other day I discovered that I can change the headphone and speaker gain on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet by editing /system/etc/default_gain.conf. This worked on Lollipop and KitKat.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58589358&postcount=3
You need root, install es file explorer, enable root mode, mount /system rw from ES, then edit that file with ES file editor, and reboot. Then if you don't need root anymore, you can mount /system back ro, disable root mode, and do full unroot from supersu settings. I have no idea if the same works on other devices, but you can try.
I don't have any problem with the volume quantity but the quality.... Noise gets distorted above 80% .. Ringtones, mxplayer, music in every thing.
I owned 2 Z00A models both of them had the same problem.
Even tried other custom roms.... That also didn't do anything.
Do anyone else face this issue ?

It is not possible that some of you say that you have no issue with the sound volume . me and my friend just bought two zen2's and both of us had other phones before and we were veeerry surprised when we heard the super low voltage on zens .
Huggge difference compared to g3,huwawei mate and htc 8.
There was this tweak for g3 to edit mixer_path.XML and the volume gained like 50% loudness that was incredible. Is there any way to do the same with zen2?

I would beg to differ. I can't remember which settings I tweaked, but here's a guide for the older version of Viper4Android:
http://freaktab.com/forum/tablet-su...-louder-on-android-devices-viper4android-root
Should be along a similar path.
Alsa Mixer is the solution, but root is reqiured. Just install Alsa from play store and modify RX1 Digital to RX7 Digital.
Alsamixer isn't working for me. I get "cannot link executable: cannot load library libasound.so
