Hi All
When I bought my XM the fw version was .17.
Before unlock booltloader i was made a backup on TA partition. Then i was made ftf file with my stock firmware but yesterday i lost it
My Q is ,if i flash another firmware version .17 ,then can i restore the TA partition and relock BL again,or this can be make only for FW from who i'm bakced up TA partition?
I may be wrong, but you can relock your bootloader in any firmware, but if isn't the same version from when you did the backup then your phone will stuck in a bootloop after relocking, but if this happens, just use Sony Update Service to restore the correct firmware and get the phone working again after relocking...
Mhm only must be on stock kernel, thats right? No matter the fw version(.17 or .8)?

ta backup has nothing to do with relocking bootloader
it is used to save some features of sony
relocking has not been made yet
and why would u want to relock?

Just incase to get the official kitkat update via SUS

To use SUS, you must have a locked bootloader. For those who have an unlocked bootloader, just wait until someone uploads an FTF. FTFs can be flashed on unlocked bootloaders using Flashtool by Androxyde.

You can easily relock the bootloader in just two steps.
Flash only the kernel via flashtool and then relock the bootloader also via flashtool.
You can't go wrong if you've used flashtool before.

The process is quite simple but do it at your own risk..
Turn on your computer's internet..
Open flashtool and select flashmode..
Select the firmware, then exclude everything but kernel (Remember only kernel should be selected, exclude everything)..
Uncheck every option in wipe..
Flash the mobile, it should take just 4-5 seconds..
Don't restart yet, disconnect your mobile..
Open BLU option in flashtool..
Connect your mobile, a dialog box will open, just click on relock..
(Remember, don't turn off the internet connection untill the bootloader is locked)
Restart your phone, it'll still be rooted and you'll be able to get all official updates..
Only thing you'll lose is the cwm recovery..
Hi, I believe that I have returned my phone back to stock.
But I'm frankly not sure if the phone is still rooted, and if the boot loader has been relocked.
I did use the TA Backup program to restore my DRM keys.
Then I simply used Flashtool to flash the latest ROM .108 onto my Z1C.
Will my phone be accepted for warranty repair?

If you did this you are ok for warranty. No need to worry...
Thanks! I appreciate the reassurance.
so the TA isn't related to stock rom version? or in other words, it isn't important if you backed up the TA while running 757 rom, it's okay to restore TA and flash 108 for exanole?

just to be sure,.. restore TA on the version you made it from..
my 2 cents
HI guys, i am interested into installing CM11 on my Xperia S , and i have backed up my TA and stored them on my PC.This procedure though, requires unlocked bootloader. In case i want to revert my phone back to locked( stock ) status, what do i have to do? I mean, how will i flash this TA backup? in a locked or an unlocked status? and via fastboot with Flashtool?

You save your TA via? Flashtool or some script? Use the same program as you use to backup. If ftool - probably flash it via ft.

Before i flash the restore file i have to be on stock Sony Fireware? And what must my bootlader status be like? Locked or unlocked?
Best idea its be on stock.
but why u ask about bootl? Now You have unlocked ;p So You must have unlocked? For restoring = re-lock it?
Hi everyone,
I have my TA partition backed up.
I've read somewhere here that if I restore TA partition it would also relock the bootloader.
Is that true?
I want to restore my TA partition, relock the bootloader, then flash a ftf (Customized USA 14.5.A.0.242 / R2D ) from XperiFirm. I would also be following this guide

Should I restore my TA, then relock bootloader, then flash ftf?
Or I can just restore TA (that would also relock the bootloader as a i was asking above), then flash ftf?
Also, I'm on XZDualRecovery, would I lose it (which I would actually want to do) when I restore my TA? or if I flash a ftf?
Basically what I'm looking on here is to restore my phone like it was just bough from a store but with the latest stock ftf.
Thanks

- relocking the bootloader does not restore your TA
- but restoring the TA partition relocks the bootloader
- by flashing a ftf you will loose your custom recovery
to restore a phone like you bought it just do the following steps:
1. restore the TA partition
2. flash a .ftf official from Sony with flashtool
3.reboot
and you are done

Hello, I have to ship my z1 c to the service center and I want to totaly reset to factory settings. My phone is rooted, unlocked bootloader and a custom rom is on board. So what should I have to do for the first. Restore TA partition, or bootloader lock or flash and original firmware.
BTW I have red that is recommended that I use the same firmware as I used when I backup the TA partition. But I cant remember. Is there a way to find out which firmware version it was?
Please help
thanks so far

This page I have already on my screen...
I have the same situation. Just flash stock firmware, with Wipe userdata, and lock bootloader.
