Is it just me or is push notfication not available for hotmail email? I only have the option for it to periodically check at a certain time interval.

I have the same problem, I ended up downloading another email app.
It does have push...but sync has to be turned on. Works fine here. Did notice that a newer outlook I recently created doesnt have this option. But it works fine with my @hotmail.com accounts.

I'm using the stock email app. My hotmail has push but both yahoo and gmail don't have. They only have option for checking every 5 minutes. Looking for a fix

You have the option for Push email for the stock email app while linking it to your hotmail?

I have cm7 with gmail, however, everytime I get an email both the gmail and the email alert me. Is there anyway to turn the email off and just keep gmail or maybe uninstall email in titanium backup?

In the settings of the gmail app there is a setting called email notifications. Uncheck that setting, and you should stop getting notifications from it.

If you're using the GMail app, just delete the account from the Email app.

I'm on ICS and using the integrated mail application. It connect to mail at work but it only sync the inbox. Since I have rules for new mail to go into a different folder it does not notify me that I received a new message. Does anyone has a workaround? Or a different mail app to use?

Enhanced Email works really well for me. In the folder view you can toggle which folders sync.

What email app are you using? How do you have it setup? Exchange, IMAP?

Mine has been that way since I got the phone and even after the 4.1.2 update. Talked to tech support and went to an at&t store and no one could help me. Got fed up and finally downloaded an email app, k-9 mail and haven't looked back. I now get all my email notifications, it also has other neat features and customization options.

Go to menu > settings > look under added accounts and click on one of them > scroll down to data usage and make sure sync email is checked and change size to retrieve emails to all > scroll down to sync settings and click on sync schedule > set both Peak and off peak schedule to every 5 mins > click done > do this for your other account.
Email client doesn't instantly push email notifications but will check every 5 mins to see if you have a new email then notify you.

I have checked that. It's set at every 15 min. That's fine as it interfers with my outlook if set at five min. But there is no notification of new.email. I have to check it manually.

That is the AOSP email app. Gmail is something else lol (but I guess you know that)

Yes, of course, I just want to say - I found only that link and I thought it's gmail, it installed without any problems and now I have two email apps - new one, from 4.4 can't deal with exchange and I use it for my gmail accounts and exchange for my business mails...
I don't like gmail app and I always delete apk from system but I thought to try and see is it better than old one...and now I have excellent way to separate accounts and still have good apk (without K9 or something similar)

It does work almost the same but gmail app is different
