Did you Wipe userdata before flashing?
hi,
gives few details more plz
Yes, i did wipe factory data, ext cache and dalvik cache. Then i installed Radio_32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 and then the ROM. And before all that i created the ext3 partition with rom manager, and installed the alignment-ext3.

I would partition your sd-card again following this guide:
http://leedroid.com/bravo-wiki/partitioning-your-sd-card-ready-for-a2sd
After this is finished, wipe all userdata (full wipe) and flash leedroid rom again.
No warranty for any damage!
Only install the alignment ext3 if you HAVE problems, it's painfully mis-documented in the official thread. Same thing happened to me. Do the following:
Format SD card, create correct partitions using gparted or Partition Manager.
Reboot into recovery by pushing Vol Down + Power, Recovery.
Wipe Cache, Data, D-cache.
Flash rom, reboot.
Don't flash the alignment patch.
Should be fine
ya..exactly..repartition the card.then just flash the rom..dont flash ext3 alignment..same prob happenend with me too..don worry!!

Lost some SDCard data after Flashing Custom ROM

hello,
New to android
I have Flashed MIUI custom ROM on my ARC s.
After flashing done, I have lost some videos, movies, and some .apk files. On SDCard
Actually files didnt get deleted , showing 0 kb size files,
I didnt lost Images and videos captured by camera.
here is what i did before flashing MIUI ROM
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe delvik cache
format /cache
format /data
format /system
format /sd-ext (i have 1gb ext2)
this is second time i lost data. please tell me where did i make mistake.??
2nd Q (important for me). please tell me how to clean install custom rom.
Thank you
Restore your /data partition backup through CWM.

[Q] Rom updating w/o losing data?

Updating aokp for example, the aokp updater told me about the update but is it the same process as installing for the first time? Will I lose my apps and everything or does it only wipe cache? What step in roms delete everything, format data or factory reset or both?
Cheers.
No wipe needed if updating.I recommend wiping cache and dalvik-cache for good measure tho. And you have to reinstall gapps after the rom as well.
When a wipe is needed you want to select factory reset. Never select wipe/format data as it'll wipe the internal storage too.
Then what about...
If you are already on AOKP and doing an update:
1. Make a nandroid (backup in CWM)
2. Format /system
3. Wipe cache
4. Wipe dalvik
5. Install new ROM zip
6. Install gapps
If you end up with issue or coming from another ROM, do this:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Format /system
3. Wipe cache
4. Wipe dalvik
5. Install new ROM zip
6. Install gapps

Isn't a Format/system wiping the apps? Or does that not affect the apps? By format on my recovery it says formatting the sd card deletes everything (on TWRP).
Cheers.

[Q] Install official rom by odin

Hello my friends
I have a big problem with my sm-p601

wipe cache/dalvik cache is itself problem!
when i get this problem must install official kitkat rom by odin and then boot problem solved.
so i want to wipe whole storage and system then install rom by odin for having a new tablet!
in TWRP wipe menu have this :

should i tik all of this and wipe then install by odin?
Is there any problem to delete whole data and system then install official 4.4.2 rom?
Just clean internal storage

You only need to clear internal storage, cache, dalvik, system and data wiill be erasered by the official image, but there is no problem to do this full wipe.

Also, you can try twrp 2.8.0.1 (the one that I use).
Head up to recovery -> Wipe -> Advanced wipe
From there you can chose what to wipe (except boot, this s**t cannot be wiped).
And if this doesnt help you, just remove your SD card, go to recovery -> wipe -> factory reset (wipes everything, not sure if wiping SD card data, but it's better to remove it first) and this should do your work.
It's always working for me, even when the ROM developer says "use the recommended recovery"
