Hardware issue.
My phone has no warranty. I will flash original kdz and then try. I cant see how its a hardware issue since home and menu buttons work flawlessly.

Its the digitizer. Using touchscreen app i couldnt draw in the area immediately above the back button. Vertical swipes dont get detected but horizontal do. Does someone know how i can map double tap of home or menu to back? I ve tried keylayout but dont understand how to map double tap functionality?

Try turning on the heptic feedback.
Off it and On again.
If not, try flashing a new stock rom.
does the phone vibrate when receiving calls? if yes, vibration still works for you. if not, probably faulty device..
When did you bought it?

Power saving mode disable haptic feedback unless you untick it.
I have a friend who wants me to unlock there AT&T Galaxy S3 for use w/T-Mobile. The problem is, the screen works completely fine but the bottom menu and back touch buttons do not light up or work so I cannot unlock it with the dialer. Any other suggestions?

Try to get the code from AT&T rep, might need a few tries.
Get the app "toucher" from the play store. It is similar to assistive touch on an iPhone. You can access the menu and back buttons from that app.

I downloaded the app and setup my menu and back key but how do I get it to show up when I am in the dailer/menu?
Well that worked, thank you for the idea, Toucher app worked like a charm. Thank you again!

Im trying to unlock my phhone how do you do it with the dialer?
If the phone is running a 4.3 or newer bootloader, you will need to get an unlock code as the free methods won't work.
Hi guys I have a xperia s on jellybean .211 firmware. Just wanted to ask if anyone else experiences an unresponsive screen during a call? What I mean is whilst im in a call the back button doesnt work so I have to press the home button. I can browse around the phone just fine, however when I go into my messages or whatsapp I cant click into a conversation at all. If I get into the conversation, I cant type a message or anything

Update: I cant click into any menu. Long pressing home button doesnt do anything, back and menu button doesnt respond. If I go into settings I cant get into any of the menus. Always during a call. Anyone experiencing this issue?
Update 2: the problem occurs when I turn the screen off or when I put the phone to my ear and then turn the screen back on

Hello all,
It is kind of weird behavior I found. . Whenever i touch at the upper most right corner, my screen gets locked n if i do a long press i get the shutdown menu.. :what: is it normal? Also with keyboard, i found that if we use full big keyboard, the swype function works very badly n if we use single hand operation keyboard, it works quite well. . Weird but true..

Are you using anirudhks' G2V5 ROM? Because that's a feature in that one, not a bug. Press clock to sleep, long press for shutdown menu.
