Ask this question in 5 1/2 months. A lot can change phone-wise in this time.

I will probably switch to a Google phone next chance I get. It's amazing how fast they get updates.
Nexus s?

Not the greatest selection, but not the worst either. Likely where I will end up eventually.

So what do you suggest ?

Five months is also a lot of time for the development of ROMs. I'd check what phones are out in five months and also look at the dev community to see how active it is for each phone you are interested in.
I have an unnatural attraction for the Xperias right now. I might get the T on Att when my plan is up. Not really liking the LG Nexus if that is really what it going to be.
Everyone has been sh!tting on the LG nexus bc its an LG. Why? If you root it and throw on cm or something who cares if the stock ROM sucks? Its still impressive hardware to me anyway
I just wish it had a amoled screen
I would be all over the LG Optimus G or whatever it is called if it had a decent friggin camera. I can't believe how crappy the photos are on the 13MP camera are.
ಠ_ಠ
Why even bother putting a 13MP camera in there if they aren't going to look any better than the pics my wife's OG Droid takes?
ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)
Why oh why can't we get a Nokia on VZ with Android? That is my wish list. That is what will get me away from my DInc2. I don't see anything that actually takes significantly better photos that my DInc2 except for the iPhone right now.
The inc2 has an amazing camera which is another thing that has turned me off from other phones as well

when i take a picture it shows up sideways when im trying to send them via mms. and i have to rotate them. it just started doing this. im running liquid smooth rom.
It does it on stock and many many other phones too. Even read that the great iPhone does it too.

Why does the rooster down the street from me cockadoodle hours before the sun rises?
The curious dinosaur would be perfect for this thread if only someone had one of him with a "Why?" question
Just rotate the pics before you send them
It has to do with the camera libs

Has anyone tried the slow motion yet? I've taken several videos, at night, indoors and outside in bright day light and they all look very very terrible. They look as if they were taken in 480p scaled up. Actually they look like a crappy GIF animation.
Is anyone experiencing the same thing or is it just a problem on my end.
I'll upload a video if anyone wants to see.
Nexus ONE
Yep same here on ATT note 3. Defeates the whole purpose and makes it unusable.
I have the same problem.

The video says it's 720p but it looks really terrible. I hope it's a software issue that gets resolved in an update.
Nexus ONE
Yep I have the same issue, very disappointing indeed.

Oh no! This is one feature that made me want this phone rather than an iPhone. Crap, I hope Samsung will fix this soon.
How do you access slow mo video ?

Judging by the sample videos posted on YouTube, this is a widespread problem. Even the commenters there noticed how pixelated and fuzzy the image is.
Cmon Samsung... this is one THE best feature that people are looking for, yet you fail so bad.
This stopped me from purchasing the Note 3. With the locked bootloader, no hide application features and now this...
The one on the HTC one S has been the best slow mo cam I've used. Not even the iPhone was compares. I still can't figure out how to use it on the note.

It's so strange that Samsung would offer a feature like this and it be so terrible. I thought my camera S defective

For the last 2 years, I have used online banking to deposit checks via photo. Never a problem with my Nexus, my S3, my wife's iPhone, but for some stupid reason, I can't deposit checks with this phone. It keeps saying, please make sure picture is in focus and within the lines. I have tried in all kinds of light, including light that is designed for taking pictures w/out shadows.
It's sad and somewhat embarrassing when I have to borrow my wifes iPhone to deposit checks.

We have enough camera threads. I still don't see all the gripes. Could be the software you're using and not the camera...

If you don't like my topic, please don't post on it. I mean that respectfully.
Maybe you don't see all the gripes because you don't take the type of pics others do.

What bank do you use, if you don't mind me asking? It's been a problem since day one with this phone.
I'm not a novice with cameras, take hundreds of pictures a week with camera lights and tents.

Guys someone in the att forum posted this about my mokee ROM, it made a hell of a deference with my front cam not sure about my back cam, and not sure it will work on stock... Go to system/build.prop and change ro.device to m7vzw to just m7... Made a huge difference...

Wells Fargo
I deposit to USAA with ease. No issues here.
Seems like an app issue to me.
I had issues with the Chase app and my one and found if I took a picture of the check with my phone sideways, with the check [_____] in front of the sideways HTC one also (____) I would get an error in the app. I then put the check vertical and my phone vertical and had no issues. Try that and see if it helps. Seems silly enough but worked for me.

Cool, thank you, I will try that.
Guys. I had issue with the thread as well but this is really getting immature. Name calling isn't going to solve anything. The op feels the way he feels. My statement against him was stating his experience as the only one which has since been proven wrong, but this stuff isn't conducive to the conversation.

I use the BofA app and it works fine for me. The preview picture is stretched out though. Otherwise, no problems. Oh, I'm using the VanirAOSP.

I will have to try a few of the suggestions above, if they don't work, maybe it's time to try another htc one.
