Already loving Kit Kat! Thanks Carbon!

Man, this ROM is SOLID! It's great to be back home. I hope Carbon gets to relive its glory days, as it did in 4.3. Great job team!

Can someone provide a direct link to rom download. Left sidebar device tree doesn't show up in phone or laptop browsers and even when I Google found my way to toroplus download page there's nothing linked after select a release type. Thanks

If it works for you, please copy paste the dl link here or pm so I can try it out. Thanks
Update: download page working now

Please ignore

Can anyone let me know how data is please. A lot of devs have perfected the icons showing but data is sketchy. I like the features that are listed here and I would love to make this my everyday driver. I have been a CM fan for ever but I don't like the change in policy. Build and send out then hope for the best. This ROM seems like the one to replace CM. Thank you.

data for me has been nothing short of a miracle! It has been switching seamlessly between 3G and LTE with no issues what-so-ever. I used to hate having to always reboot the phone just to get LTE in an area I know has LTE. I am also on the newest radio the GJ04 and have been for quite some time.
---------- Post added at 04:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:16 PM ----------
The only issue I have so far (and its not a deal breaker by any means) is screen rotation...when the screen rotates, it sort of gets fuzzy, like a bad picture, but then quickly fixes itself. Running Carbon KitKat on my SGS4 as well and it does not do that, so I'm thinking its something with the Toroplus??

dirty flashed the most recent nightly and running well. digging the pie controls. any way that the Carbon Updates in about phone could work to update to the latest nightly as there are no KK milestones?

Very impressed with this Rom !
downloaded and flashed yesterday, very nice and stable. I like that the dialer has the Google local business search function built-in, I remember earlier cm builds didn't have it...
Haven't noticed any hiccups yet!:good:

Anyone flash a custom kernel with this Rom? any kernel suggestions?

Alternative Kernel
flashed the tinykernel-5.5-ASRAM.zip yesterday and everything seems to be running smooth after a day of use. This kernel is giving me 733mb of RAM to work with, so you gain around 30mb over the included rom kernel. I've tested WIFI, GPS, camera, etc., everything seems to function as it should. I've also underclocked to 230MHz and kept the max set at 1200, although you can go over 1500MHz if your phone can handle it...mine usually freezes instantly around 1500. Currently I'm still on build from 2-13, but will be updating soon.
This Rom seems to be very stable and one of the best KitKat Roms I've tried ! I've also reduced animations setting, along w/ other available related settings down to .25 within developer options. Under this set up my phone is pretty snappy!
Data switching (3g/4g, Wifi) has been flawless so far!

Although the tiny kernel I mention above works on this Rom, I was experiencing pretty often freeze ups requiring battery pulls, so running the included kernel since updating the rom and haven't had to battery pull yet... so for now will stick w/ the included cyanogenmod kernel.
Overall Great Rom !

[ROM][Nightly][ICS] Team Eos European 3G (GSM) Nightlies (umts_everest/MZ601)

Team EOS XOOMICS 4.0.4 umts_everest MZ601NIGHTLIES
Welcome to the evolution of TiamatXOOM.
With the AOSP release of Android 4.0 begins the next dawn of the Android operating system. And with this release comes Team EOS, the natural evolution of the TiamatXOOM development team.
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. The launching point for this development effort is the Motorola XOOM.
For the latest news on Team EOS Xoom releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #xoom.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated once every 24 hours and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS Xoom is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Xoom Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/nightlies/umts_everest/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Use the latest available gapps package available from http://goo.im/gapps
*Note - You will need to re-flash G-Apps after you flash an updated nightly build. You can do this before you reboot after the installation of a new nightly.
Also note that if you are coming from an earlier G-Apps package you will need to wipe prior to installation of this package in order to avoid FC issues.
--
Current Known Issues:
The signal cluster doesn't show the correct connection type.
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving. Change logs are generally generated on a daily basis.
Change logs can be viewed at http://nightlies.teameos.org/changelogs/
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Tiamat ICS Xoom kernel
Support for OC;Under/Overvolt
Governors: lagfree, interactive, conservative, ondemand, userspace, performance
Kernel Note: In compliance with GPL kernel source can be found at: http://git.tiamat-dev.com/tegra2/tiamat-xoom/
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery (Solarnz R4c, Rogue, Clockwork)
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY Honeycomb based rom (this includes all Tiamat roms)
Please note that due to fundamental changes Google has made to the way Android works there are certain issues that cannot be resolved without additional components from Google and the hardware manufacturers.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.
FEATURE REQUESTS!
We need YOU, yes YOU to help us build the best AOSP rom out there. Have an idea for a feature you want to see implemented then let us know!
Team EOS Feature Request
Changing the Stock Motorola Dual Core Boot Logo Splash Screen:
While not a necessary feature of the Team EOS ICS builds make sure you check out the Team EOS Motorola Xoom Boot splash utility in the Android Market:

Just follow http://teameos.org/?page_id=6 to checkout our source code, and information on how to submit changes for review.
Welcome to the XOOM evolved. Welcome to Team EOS.

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Extremely fast. Youtube works fine did not on nightlies for mz604 for me. No deep sleep but havnt restarted since first boot so probably why. Only problems i can find are the 3g icon and the signal strength doesnt seem to change ever. Very good work.

Maybe everybody is too busy setting up their fancy new 3g connected, lag-free overclockable, full market enabled, @teamEOS rom
Sent from my MZ601 using Tapatalk
Or we just needed a good NIGHT sleep... 601 is mostly european version, and some of us have been sleeping 'till now... ))))
This ROM surprised me, honestly, I haven't expected it yet... But it is nice surprise, and I'll get to installation ASAP!
If 3G works well, this could be my Chosen One...
EDIT: Works extremely slow, wait/report/fc screen al the time... Twice installed, done by the book (first post guides), but same slowness here... MZ601, euro 3G version - best worked on stock HC 3.2... But, I'll try more, as ICS has great options...
EDIT 2: After 2 reboots it works fine, but some apps doesn't work good (eg. Tapatalk HD keeps stop working after login). Still some apps start slowly, but most work fine. I have no 3G issue, GSP works fine, WiFi works, but seems slow (this might be related to my router..).
Has everyone got 3G working? I can't get a connection even though I get the 3G symbol showing. I have Telstra.wap and Telstra.mms auto populated in the APN settings, but no data. I have done a complete wipe coming from the EOS wingray builds. The device shows correctly as MZ601 and the baseband is N_01.100.05P. Any ideas?
Edit: NVM. Re-flashed Wingray and then installed this ROM again after a full wipe. Working perfectly now. Sweeeet!
Will flash nightly 7 this afternoon, currently iam on the last test build from solarnz (i tested it yesterday for him) deep sleep is working fine here, batterylife is also fine.
The only issue i found is known (it doesnt show the correct connection type)
Community have fun with the awesome work from TeamEOS

Thanks TEAM EOS, amazing work! I will have to wait to go home to test it thought

Yeah I'm testing this now, Carbon is an awesome ROM no matter what version I've tried previously. The community here will embrace this undoubtedly. Can't wait to see the progression to stable but looks like the ROM has some pretty neat features already including active display.
I plan on using this with no scripts or tweaks for the time being either, see how it does.

Well we read it here first! Also the new boot animation is great, and boot time is phenomenal. Boot only takes seconds and I have not had that with ONE single ROM yet. Boots have normally been about a minute or so with other ROMs.
I'm going to try some things I haven't tried in a bit like ART although previously my experience with it hasn't been good. But again, a lot of time has passed since the last time I tried it.
Edit: Well never mind, ART couldn't get past the first 10 apps. That is pretty much what I thought would happen so no big deal. It's almost at the point ART might as well be removed altogether from KK ROMs but that is only my take, so in other words that isn't happening.

Let's get this party started!!! Thanks OP and the rest of the Carbon team!
woot! More love for my GS3! Thank you sir!
Can't wait to try this
Download is soooo slow any other link
I guess I'm going to have to wait until tonight to try this, the download site isn't working on my phone or my work computer. I can get to the d2tmo screen but it just says "select a release type" but then it's just blank, it isn't showing me any links for either the nightly or stable.
Different device but I do have the 1/31 release working well on my nexus 7. Only just flashed it last night so I can't wait to get home and play with it some more.
Yeah they're getting hammered at the moment. I'm on Feb 1 nightly. Working great, only missing quick unlock for the lock screen.

I know they won't start until tomorrow but was curious, how do 'delta" updates work? Is it just a different link on the download page, is there an updater built into the rom? Sorry, I've never used it before so I don't know much about it other than just the general facts.
If you haven't read their site and don't know what I'm talking about I'm referring to this, from the carbon-rom website:
"Delta updates should be functioning this Tuesday, meaning when you are trying to update to the nightlies built on Tuesday (2am EST), you should be able to use Delta to do so. "

If you haven't read their site and don't know what I'm talking about I'm referring to this, from the carbon-rom website:
"Delta updates should be functioning this Tuesday, meaning when you are trying to update to the nightlies built on Tuesday (2am EST), you should be able to use Delta to do so. "

I've been waiting for Carbon 4.4 since it was announced... The only issue I've had was my device kept crashing if i was streaming audio via bluetooth. I don't have the bluetooth speaker with me currently, its at work but when i get back i'll get a log.
Ok. I am impressed. This has got to be the first KK ROM that has Bluetooth actually working. So far, the ROM seems really snappy.
However, I noticed that it doesn't go into deep sleep.
Any kernel recommendations for this ROM?

According to BBS, I've got a RILJ wakelock keeping the phone awake. I guess I'll have to do some research on this one.
I'll be interested to hear what you find, I've only been using this less than a day but it hasn't gone into deep sleep at all. I'm using dkp kernel.

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Just want to say that Carbon KitKat has been everything I could have hoped for and more! Keep up the good work!
I'm glad they waited so long to start releasing official nightlies. The result has been a very smooth and stable ROM. I look forward to more features being added, but right now, it is my favorite kk ROM.
On my S3 and N7 great rom
Got the Carbon downloader and downloaded the 2/5 nightly. When I tried to (dirty) flash 2/5 over 2/3 after wiping cache and Dalvik (per the usual), everything went fine, but when the ROM booted it said something like "unable to perform Encryption, please perform a factory rest of your phone by pressing the button below". Any ideas? I went back to 2/3 until I can figure out what's up. Not really thrilled with starting from scratch at the moment, does anyone feel me?!?!?

You can wipe cache, dalvik and system, but not data. This will leave all of your apps, widgets, and settings in place. Also, check the md5 and make sure it's not a problem with your download.
I've been dirty flashing for years I just don't know why all the sudden the encryption thing pops up because my partitions are not encrypted. The rom looks like it flashes fine just like any other nightly before.
Just a heads up for everyone looking to try this ROM or update to a new nightly, Carbon team is moving to a brand new server, and downloads will be sporadic/nonexistent for a little while (maybe the rest of the week according to their blog post). Read about it here:

I have downloaded all of the nightlies to this point, let me know if you want me to upload one and I can PM you a link. Carbon was the best 4.3 ROM available prior to KitKat, and they have continued that trend with their current releases. Amazing work by the Carbon team!
Is 4G working on the 2/4 nightly? I flashed last night but have not had 4G all day. Could be they are doing some work on it here just not sure if its ROM related or sprint.

I'm at work right now but I had previously posted a couple of them over on Android Forums for the Virgin Mobile and Boost users.
If you go to the subforum for rooted users of this phone over there, the thread is called Official Carbon KitKat Nightlies. Otherwise, if you can wait until late tonight I can pm you some links.

My understanding is that it is going to be hit or miss until the server is 100%, so luck of the draw on downloading.

status bar brightness slider added in on 2-05 nightly and cloud print in kk now works.
Blur lock screen seems to have bugs. Reception seems a bit spotty as well not sure if it is my location. What radio is everyone running?

The LTE handoff bug was present in the 1/30 build. The commit was merged for the 1/31 build, and has been fixed ever since. I have used the 1/31 build, and just dirty flashed to 2/04 last night. Did you clean flash(system as well)? Other than that, you could try flashing a stock ROM(I'd personally recommend ZV8 over ZVA, but that's just me) and update profile, then flash back to AOSP. If all that fails, the only other thing I can think of is updating the radios TO THE DECEMBER ZV8 RADIOS, NOT ZVA. IF YOU FLASH ZVA RADIOS YOU WILL BRICK.
The only big bug that I could find is that video(Youtube, stock video player, etc.) will not play. It will play audio, but the feed is frozen and the tracker jumps 4 seconds at a time. D80X is also reporting this issue. Either way, fine show indeed! :good:
No Data connection
Hello! Thanks for a great ROM!
I have issue with Internet, it's just not connecting. I have data on stock and Omni Rom and can't enable it on any other AOSP Rom.
I use NV ram to connect to the network.
Any idea? Thanks!
Trying out the ROM, great so far.
Bugs I found so far. In the Lockscreen>General tab. The See through option doesn't seem to be working.
Okay, probly silly, but is there anyway to get that pie lmt setup in this rom on my phone?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using xda app-developers app
How does the screen recording function work?
Everything but tether working great for me! (I am provisioned for tether)
Great work appreciate it!

Does this have the dark switch like the real dark slim?

Just got my G2. Why does this thread die here?
I was wondering the same thing.
I am also not able to download any of the nightlies. I keep getting some sort of network error message. "Failed- Network error"
