[Q] Sound glitching - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

So I know there's some issues with the sound on the Nexus 7 when the volumes are low.
But haven't read about anyone having issues like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nhy4sdjDXY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
This happens every couple of minutes, some shorter, some longer, when playing videos and broken sword ( only game it happends ).
Rooted using CM11, been happening for a long time. Haven't tried a complete wipe, thought I would ask here first for any opinions.

Yeah I had that. Flashing Glitch kernel seems to have fixed it.

Nice, 30 minutes of YouTube played, no screams from the speaker yet. Makes me wish I didn't sit on my finger for 4 months before taking actions, Darwin knows I've been startled many times when watching videos late night.
Thanks.

[Q] audio sounds like fastforward

okay ive been experiencing strange stuff on my one x. sometimes out of no where the audio (music, playback, riinger, internel speakers, headphones) sounds like its in fast forward. .. even video . when i play vid its like its skipping 2 seconds everytime. in other words, everything coming out of speaker or headphones sounds like chipmunks . to resolve this issue i have to restart the phone (evcen hot boot, shell restart helps ) . but it seems to come back once in a while. sometimes too fast.
what causes this problem . is this hardware issue or software issue. i m running viper 3.7.5 rom with xm kernel.is this about kernel? ( i doubt, coz i had this issue on different roms too)
Installed any sound mods..?

I'm also on viper 3.7.5 with it's kernel, no modification of any kind, no sound mods. Sometimes it's occur after couple hours, sometimes after couple of days.
found the reason
okay i found the culprit. i used to install beats enhanced mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720770 with venom rom and that was the main culprit. seems its not compatible with viper rom
i reflashed the rom without the jb beats mod and now its working fine since 3 days now .
I am on SlimKat rom,. Same thing is happening with me. It happens when i take a call while listening to music. After the call it starts playing like fast forward. It is really annoying. After the restart it stars playing normal again. Any ideas guy?

[Q] Weird sound bug with Ascend Mate+MIUI 3.12.6

Hi
I have this strange thing happenning on my phone.
Every 27.8 seconds i get a distorted/robot sound on all audio being played.
It lasts for about 2-3 seconds, and everything is fine for another 27.8 seconds.
I know it sounds weird with 27.8, but that was the average time on stopwatch.
Hoping someone could enlighten me about possibillities.
And like I said: Ascend Mate with MIUI 3.12.6.
I have had other versions of Android on it, but only this throws this error.
Im really pleased with this version, except for this thing

Try turning of touch sounds. I've had this issue on most ROMs, and it's earkilling... Turning off touch sounds fixed it for me.

Notification sound disappear

Randomly my notification sound disappear.
No problem with the rest of the phone, if I reboot there's no problems.
I've not found a way to restore sounds except a reboot that is trivial and unacceptable twice a day.
Someone has this problems?
Any idea?
My wife's phone won't ring sometimes. She has to reboot as well.

It's probably a software related problem.
She was using something connected with bluetooth or using spotify?
No Spotify. The last time something was connected via Bluetooth would have been 8 hours prior on her way home from work.
did you guys find out the cause? it happens to my mom as well. seems like an app might be the problem. but I don't know which one.
thanks
No, I can't figure out why. I've tried with n7player and, same problem.
Could be headphones ? I really don't know but, this phone is really disappointing.
Happened again yesterday, using n7 and headphone but, I've done a call using earphones so, could be a earphone issues that not restore correct audio channel after headphone are unplugged?
In this case, is there a way to reset only audio avoiding a full reboot?
anybody figure this out? super annoying lol..
In my case it happens after I disconnect from Bluetooth hands free
Happens to me every day. I thought it was an app but I doubt it now. I have a n5 and n5x set up identical, non rooted, all stock, same apps.
5X looses audio all the time. Twice a day maybe. Annoying is an understatement.
I've got the same issue. Anyone come across a solution yet?

I'll keep you guys posted but for some odd reason, I feel it's candy crush that causes the problem. My mom plays it alot and she told me it wasn't working. I did everything (but reboot of course). Then i noticed the only app open was candy crush so I swiped it to close it. and boom.. it started ringing again. idk if it's coincidence but I'll check again if she tells me its not ringing.

I don't play games. It happens every time I start a call from my wearable. No other problems but, I can't solve avoiding a reboot.
Someone can tell me please a way to report a bugreport to google? Becouse I can reproduce the bug so, probably I could be useful. But I don't know how to sumbit a complete bug report, with all necessary info.

Youtube & Feb OTA audio feed mysteriously muted

Flashed Feb update the day it came out.
Rooted but stock in all other aspects.
Last night I noticed that when watching something on YT if a notification popped off with an audible tone it killed the audio on YT without a way to recover.
Volume sliders were ineffective in restoring the audio feed.
Video feed continued as if nothing was wrong.
Sometimes closing the video and reopening resolved the issue.
Otherwise closing the app and reopening was the solution.
Having notifications muted or set to vibrate did not result in the same behavior.
Has anyone else had the same experience?
thanks
I read someplace that I believe this is a new feature....that way videos dont start blaring out from your phone when your not ready for it. Personally I like it....

I think you misunderstood.
Video volume is permanently muted once a notification goes off because I received a text.

Question AOD lagging

Hello,
I have an issue with my Pixel 6 Pro that is rooted with Magisk. When the always on screen is on and there is a timer or stopwatch running for example, it freezes for multiple seconds.
This only happens when the phone is not moving, if I pick it up from the table it starts working again...
Also, the fingerprint scanner doesn't light up when it is in this state.
I suppose it's not normal because my friend who has a Pixel 7 doesn't have this issue
Any idea of what could be causing this?
Edit: Here's a video of it happening
Edit 2: It can also be seen on screen recordings so i don't think it's a hardware issue (on these it just jumps to the next update so it doesn't hang but it skips multiple seconds at once)
I get all sorts of problems with my rooted 6 pro, including this. I've almost actually come close to snapping the device in half in my rage at the malfunction of it.
Is clock battery optimized? I can't remember if i had this issue, if i remember in thr morning i might try. What the shortest timer you've experienced this with?

Yeah I agree that this is really annoying, root shouldn't cause issues like this...

It always starts at 00:59 and it struggles to roll over to 01:00
I tried it with battery optimization off for the Clock app and turning off Adaptive battery but it didn't help

After reading the post again and watching the video, this doesn't happen on my p6 pro.
How do you flash your updates? What was your experience like without magisk?
Good point in your reply, it's been so long since I've actually been non rooted

I actually got the phone about a week ago and I rooted it instantly so I didn't use stock at all. But I flashed a13 through fastboot first to prevent bricking it due to the bootloader version.
