Noyou cant restore your stock rom via cwm. You need a zip file of the stock rom that came with you phone.. Its not compulsory that you should always be on stock to flash another ROM. factory reset wipe and flash..
but i did backup my stock rom via CWM before flashing the custom rom.
all i just want it that when i move to stock rom. i dont want to lose my root access and cwm.
if i flash stock rom ftf root access and cwm will gone right?

As long as you backed up while you were rooted and had cwm i think that they will be there but if they aren't its not a big deal to re-do them.
If you flash the ftf they will be gone.
you can flash hellcat rom over cm11 without flashing stock rom

I have done it before. Follow these steps.
1. Goto CWM and wipe user data and cache. Also wipe dalvik cache.
2. goto "mounts and storage" and format system, data, cache.
3. Now install your hellcat rom from SD card. Also flash GAPPS and reboot.
Thats it.

Hello guys, I would like to know how to update my ROM using dalvik cache? I have Foxhound ROM 0.3 and i would like to install the 0.4. Can anyone help me ?
Hi Mate
You don't update using the Dalvik Cache. The Dalvik Cache is just something that is best to clear before an update.
In order to flash a new ROM there are a few things you need to have set up on your computer and phone and they are well detailed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310
Read the above thread and find out what has already been done. I think your phone will be Bootloader Unlocked and Rooted already. If so flash the latest Clockwork Recovery Mod CWM and then just download the ROM you want and store it on your phone. Once done you will be able to use the above link to easily write it to your phone using CRM and the Flash Update from SD Card Option.
Hope this helps.

Ummm. he doesn't have to read that thread..
Just simply download the ROM
Put it on your phone's storage
Boot into CWR
Wipe Dalvik and Cache
Flash ROM
[OPTIONAL] Flash Kernel (if you used one a custom kernel)

If you flash another rom, will your apps be wiped as well? And if you flash an update from the same rom? Just back-up with Titanium or? Thanks.

Not always (TEAM does not do this. )
easiest way is to grab a Stock Firmware FTF file then flash it with Flashtool. there are huge big guides in general so i'll let you find them.
this will wipe everything and put the stock kernel on
Pvy.
Hi,
Few months ago I rooted my Galaxy Wonder (Malaysia version) to CWM-based Recovery v6.0.3.4 and flashed to a Custom ROM. Now I wanted to flash back my phone back to Stock Rom because the Custom ROM is very battery consuming.
Now, when I try to flash the Stock ROM in CWM recovery.. the error shows "E: Can't open /sdcard/I8150DXLM3_I8150OLBD1_XME.zip (bad)" then Installation aborted. I tried to download a few Stock ROM from different sources but still give me the same error when I wanted to flash it in CWM Recovery.
Can anyone here please tell me how to solve this problem? Do I need to unroot my phone (flash back to Stock Recovery) before I can flash back to Stock ROM? If yes, how to flash back to Stock Recovery?
Your help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hope to see you all to reply me

You need to do a clean installation/ pristine. since it will leave some custom ROM files in ur internal storage. i always do (in CWM) wipe data / factory reset, format system and format /sdcard0 (internal storage) before installing any custom/ stock ROM.

I tried to flash new rom and Kernel . I did the following.
I load Rom zip, Kernel zip, and gapps onto my SD card. I verify that it loaded correctly.
Boot to TWRP recovery and advanced wipe the following:
Davikcache,Data,System,Cache,Internal/SD card,Android Secure,Preload.
Back up to Install in recovery to flash rom and kernel and gapps but nothing there. No file.
Now I can not do anything but reboot to Recovery.
There is nothing in Restore to restore.
Please guide me to restore the OS. Thanks

If you want to flash the rom, just mount the partition in recocvery and send the zip via usb and install that.
Thanks @8Fishes for anwer my call for help.
I found a link to restore to Stock from hard bricked and I am able to get it back to Stock Rom.
I redo the Rom flashing again. This time I did not wipe the internal| SD card and I am able to flash the new Rom. I learn a lot from that mistake

It is OK to wipe Internal SD but if and only if your backup and ROM files are on external SD card.
Now I am on custom rom, what to do to flash stock rom? just flash zip file in TWRP? or should I flash stock TWRP or what?
You got some options:
But first a heads-up: you will lose all your data.
Zip-flash method:
Copy the stock rom flashable zip to your micro sd. Make sure you got the flashable zip! To be flashed in twrp.!
Boot to twrp.
Factory reset
Then wipe system partition
Now flash the zip.
Wipe dalvik and cache.
Reboot
Enjoy
Fastboot method: (will surely wipe everything)
Search for team one rescue firmware on our XDA.
Download the firmware package.
Boot your phone into bootloader.
Connect your phone to your PC.
Make sure you got your backup to your PC. Or micro SD.
Extract the firmware package and start
Flash-all stock recovery.bat
Or a name similar.
Wait until the phone reboots in its own, and DO NOT , disconnect the phone while in process of flashing.
Once the the Google setup is visible, you can safely disconnect your phone.
You should be back on marshmallow stock rom.
Do some ota updates. Enjoy,

Now I have custom TWRP and a custom rom, I will choose Zip-flash method.
Can I flash stock rom with this custom TWRP? I mean can I flash stock rom like custom ones via twrp?
Can I flash custom rom later after installing stock rom?

For starters, twrp is a custom recovery, so you don't have to put the word "custom" before twrp everytime you mention it. X)
There are flashable zips that contain the stock rom. So, in a sense, yes, but you can't do any ota updates.
Download any needed file before beginning to flash a new rom:
Custom Rom, Gapps and if you want root: Magisk or SuperSu. Put those files on your micro SD in your phone.
Create a backup in twrp. You Just have to slide from left to right, no need to select anything more than what is already selected from the start.
Before installing a custom rom, you have to always wipe system, data, dalvik and cache partition in twrp recovery.
Only then you can flash the stock rom, which can be downloaded in one of the threads here in our XDA Lenovo p2 forum.
Little need to know: before flashing any rom, do a factory reset in twrp and wipe system partition.
Be aware that by deleting the four partitions you will lose your app data, sms, call log and so on.
Internal storage however isn't affected, so your music und Pictures won't be deleted.

Thanks for your detailed answer I am now on custom rom, i will download stock rom from the sticky thread, although all links are dead but I will try to find a working link
BTW, what is the latest stock rom?
I think S251 ...i'm not sure though. It shiuld be the one with the highest number=latest version ?
I still think that custom roms are better than stock though but do what you think is right.
