Help!!! My htc one x no more booting up - HTC One X

Hello mates
I have one HTC ONE X of which I was given by a sister of mine. So after I got this it. I boot into recovery, I realized that the bootloader has been unlocked. I decided to wipe all the existing data on the phone and so that I would be able to access it more conveniently .
I boot into recovery and I discover that TEAMWIN V 2.6 is the custom recovery on it.. so when am about to wipe the phone, I selected the advance wipe option, and i selected the following;
WIPE
DAVIT/WIPE
DATA
SYSTEM
.ANDROID SECURE
Obviously, I selected everything I saw there, so after I selected them ,I swipe to wipe. then i still went ahead to do factory reset
To my surprise, I reboot to phone hoping I have successfully wipe the everything on it, as i power it on, the phone got been stucked in HTC quiet brilliant and it refused to boot up
Up till now. I still cant boot the phone up, it always got stucked in htc quiet brilliant whenever I power on
So, i decided to download some custom rom so as to able to revert it back but unfortunately ,none works, and I dont have the backup rom with me and it getting me annoyed for that silly mistake
Anytime I tried to install those rom, it might be successful but at the end of the day, when i want to power on, it would still remain in the HTC quiet brilliant. It wont boot up at all. So I have not been to access the phone anymore.:crying:
please help me mates , at this point, my HTC ONE X no longer boot up anymore, it would just stuck in the htc quiet brilliant.
before I would be able to install those custom rom. I do boot into recovery and mount the sd .
Please help me....
:crying::crying::crying:

Did you follow instructions to flash custom rom?
flashed zip
wipe everything except battery stats
flash boot.img from ron .zip?
Sent from my EndeavorU using Tapatalk 2

The correct steps would be to do factory reset....ok you done that already...then put the custom Rom on phone flash it, go into fastboot flash there the boot.img of the Rom and reboot....but at first I want to know...which Rom did you tried to install and which hboot version do you have? You can see that on top of the bootloader if you reboot to bootloader ...if you told me both things I can help you better

bro, I followed every single steps I saw in that rom thread.
the initial version on it was version 4.1 , I mean the stock rom on that htc one x before i got stucked with this unbooting.
As I mistakenly deleted and wipe .android secure and some other things like, data, wipe, davit wipe, system and co.
my thought was that it had successfully erase the existing user data.
I then came online to check may be this rom would work on it, I did everything and when I successfully flashed it, i reboot the phone and it always got stuck in that htc quiet brilliant since then.

I'm thinking may be the original stock rom of the phone could help to revive it but I couldnt get it.
I just dont know what to do anymore, please kindly help me out with something.
Thanks in anticipating.:good:

Flash now the Rom again without wiping anything...just flash the Rom but don't choose wipe...only maybr wipe cache and dalvik cache...it should work then sometimes if you wipe system you have to fladh the Rom 2 times otherwise it can't link the folders to system etc

but for now the actual rom that can work on it is the initial stock rom 4.1 .
I ve been searching everywhere to get the stock rom (ORANGE) as the network carrier.

I had a really similar problem to this, located here.
Basically, I did the following:
1) Restored RUU using the guide found here.
2) Re-unlocked using my Unlock_code.bin from HTC (go to their website and use HTCdev if you haven't got it).
3) Flashed ClockworkMod recovery.
4) I was using CyanogenMod so I re-flashed the kernel (boot.img) FIRST, and then mounted my sdcard using CWM.
5) Transferred the newest CyanogenMod endeavoru and installed using CWM.
Works now! GL

Thanks

[Q] Help me please!!!

Please help me I may be in some deep poop here
Hi, I recently tried to root my HTC one X from the latest firmware (jellybean) using this http://ausdroid.net/2012/04/02/how-to-root-the-htc-one-x/ method. Unfortunately it didn't work and instead put the phone into a boot loop. I managed to flash a version of CWM recovery onto it, and I downloaded the viperX http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745176 rom and used adb push to put it onto the sd card so I could install it. I installed it and select no custom kernal when it asked me and it had no effect. So i tried installing it again but I ticked custom kernal to see what it did. Big mistake - the phone tries to boot, it has the viperx snake thingy in the boot screen, it gets to the lock screen and is completely unresponsive and crashed. I tied downloading another rom (nocturnal) and installing that but it had no effect.
I've tried using a RUU to fix it but none of the ones I tried work, they get an error, wrong bootloader version. I relocked the bootloader and flashed a stock recovery onto it but still no luck.
Please please help me anyone!!!!

What custom recovery do you have ? Type and version ?
First, you should be able to mount the sdcard as a usb diskdrive from within the recovery !
Second, you need to flash the boot.img file from the viper.zip (its inside the rom.zip).
Third, you need to perform a FULL wipe in the recovery before installing the actual rom.
Your hboot is not the problem. Its one or more of the things above.
And also check what is on top of your bootloader. Does it say ENDEAVORU ?
First off, thanks for your help. I've unlocked the bootloader again, flashed the boot image from the viperx zip and reinstalled viperx but it still won't boot. How do you perform a full wipe, and also in the installer for the rom it said something about flashing the kernal manually if you don't have s-off (in the botloader it says s-on).
BTW i'm using cwm recovery v6.0.1.9
Oke, first of all download the viper x 3.3.7. The JB version !
A FULL wipe ? You have to delete all data in the recovery. Wipe caches, dalvik cache, wipe data/factory reset. Format cache, data, system. Then install the Rom. And right before you install the rom you unhook the usb cable too.
The boot.img is flashed with a command like this
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Used that before ?
Ok there's my first problem i had an old version of viperx, it was an ics one and my phone had jb on it.
Yes i'm familiar with using the fastboot flash command, its the only way I managed to get cwm on there
Also, just to be clear, I flash the new boot.img (the one in the viperx folder) before or after I install the new rom?
Yes you flash the new boot.img, perform a full wipe in the recovery, unhook the usb cable ! Then install the new rom.
Select full wipe in the installer, kernel question is answered by pressing viper x delivered.
Ok thanks, i'm trying to put the new rom onto the phone now, I've formatted system, /sdcard, ect in cwm plus cleared the caches, I've mounted sdcard and typed into adb: adb push ViperX3.3.7.zip sdcard, i'm waiting for it to finish pushing, its taking a while
Its done, by viperx delivered you mean viperx supplied right? I used that one, its installing now, fingers crossed..
Its easier to go into the mounts and storage section of the recovery and mount is as a mass storage device (diskdrive) its like inserting a usb stick
OK its booting, it had the viperx snake going across the boot screen, now its displaying the htc one boot screen...
Sucses! Its working again. I'll make sure to install cwm and make a backup straight away.
Thankyou so much for your help, i've sent you a little something for your trouble
Thanks mate, appreciate it ! have fun with Viper X JB !

Can't flash any JB custom ROM

So I've bought my phone secondhand a few months before, rooted and with ARHD 9.X.
Then I decided I want a JB custom ROM and tried to upgrade to ARHD 19.2 (JB), and also Viper X 3.4.0 (JB). - NO LUCK.
I,ve upgraded HBOOT to 1.39 and followed all the steps required for Jelly Bean upgrade (or so I think).
ISSUE
After flashing, my HOX managed to boot the system, even start the start up process, but after a minute or two everything froze up and restarted, again boot, restart... Some kind of a bootloop.
Then I just went to the older version of Viper X 2.7.0.
I really want a new JB custom ROM, but can't have it because I'm obviously missing something.
Please assist...

And for additional info, can you do a fastboot command for me

AW: Can't flash any JB custom ROM
If you didn't flash the the boot img then download it from the ARHD thread. There is a bat. Which do it for you. Very easy
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I did flash boot.img that was on the viperx's thread, also tried with the .bat file when I was trying to flash new ARHD ROM.
Before flashing every ROM I did factory reset/wipe, wiped cache partition and wiped dalvik cache.
Mr Hofs, I did the following command:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1832227&stc=1&d=1364214488
May i suggest you turn to stock first to check its all fine
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Download the ruu, put the phone in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode ....lock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
Then right click the ruu and select " run as administrator"
ok, so I just installed the stock rom with your instructions and my HOX froze again... really frustrating.
do U have any more ideas what can I do?

Hey , I have that same problem , HOX branded from Orange , unlocked bootloader , flashed recovery CWM 6.0.9.7 , full wipe , flashed rom :
[ROM] HTC One X *STOCK* ROM | 3.18.401.1 | Jelly Bean | HTC Sense 4+
Flashed boot.img from rom and phone freeze at startup logo ...
I read 61 pages in rom development and see few ppl have that same problem but no one answer nothing usefull ...
please help ...
but I actually manage to get past the startup logo and I am able to enjoy JB for a minute or two..... then freeze.
freemaind, I've read a lot of posts with the same problem as yours, but i didn't find any that actually had the "freeze" within the newly installed ROM.

So you installed the ruu with succes ? If so and it still happends there is something wrong with the phone !
But on a ICS (viper x 2.7) rom you do not have this problem ?

Vander....
Could please write down ALL the exact steps you take with installing the new rom ?
From boot.img , recovery actions .... all used commands ... Etc etc etc
a few months ago I installed JB RUU and actualy managed to update it via software update.
That just reminded me that I was able to keep stock rom active without freezing when it was on charger. how weird is that?
anyway, this is how I did the software update. but as soon as I jacked the charger out, it froze again.
i don't know what else I can do, except stay with my current ROM. but I'm not happy with that.
any constructive suggestion or ideas would be great. thanks

3. run RUU as administrator, followed steps as instructed on the installer
4. after a few minutes phone rebooted and loaded stock rom, took me to setup
5. went through setup process, then check software version, browsed through the phone a little and freeze
Sorry ..... I ment when you install a custom rom !
But now it goes well when you keep it on the charger but it goes wrong when you unplug it ?

yes. but that happened only with stock rom. i tried that with ViperX JB and it didn't work.
did you ever hear of such case?
Yesterday i tried Viper X 3.4.0:
1. downloaded ROM and boot.img from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087443
2. put ROM to SD card
3. reboot to fastboot usb mode
4. open CMD in fastboot folder - > entered: fastboot flash boot boot.img -> OKAY
5. unpluged USB from phone, went to recovery in fastboot mode
6. CWM recovery -> wipe data/factory reset -> wipe cache partition -> wipe dalvik cache
7. install zip from SD card, browsed to ViperX 3.4.0 and selected it
8. went through setup process, chosen wipe data in installation (just in case)
9. finished installation
10. HOX loaded ROM successfully, started setup, after few moments FREEZE
Oke try this :
Flash the viper x 3.4.0 boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Unplug the cable and enter the recovery.....
Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Advanced - wipe dalvik cache
Mounts & storage - format cache, data, system
Then install the viper x 3.4.0, choose a full wipe in the aroma installer and choose kernel - viper delivered.....
Reboot after install

HTC one X wont boot, wierd !

Hey all,
I have an HTC one X.
The Case, phoen wont boot to any screen except for, bootloader on recovery mode (including TWRP and CWM).
I have followed the instructions regarding the usage on HTC one X all in one tool, phone is rooted ( pic1.)
Afterwards, ive flashed, wiped formatted system, and then Flashed Stock ROM.
Phone is not booting farther than the CWM screen (pic2).
Any suggestion would be gladly accepted.
RUU?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Im on to it ...
did you flashed the boot.img from rom via fastboot? such things you should not forget...otherwise it wouldn't work so just try another rom wipe system, data, dalvik cache and cache in recovery flash the rom of your choice and in fastboot you have to flash the boot.img which is in the rom zip .with fastboot flash boot boot.img....then fastboot erase cache and fastboot reboot so that the phone reboots...then setup your phone and it's done
If you're running stock kernel you have to flash the original kernel and re-lock the phone, easiest way is using RUU (still have to relock your phone though)
Also, How is this a "development" for android?!!!

Thanks for putting your minds to it guys,
Thats the deal.
Rooted HTC oneX
1. While booting, goes straight to bootloader or into recovery...
2. I do the wipe, Dalvik and all of the other necessary
3. Flashed stock ROM, flashed any other possible ROM... reboot, and it goes back yo the bootloader menu.
Then, just to be clear.
Using the All in one HTC one X.
Re-Lock the phone
Went all the way from beginning.
1. Get token ID, Submit token ID, Unlock bootloader ( done, worked)
2. done the Wipe and re-flashed ROM... same result as before...
3. tried the RUU... nothing
4. i took out the boot.img out of the stock ROM and ran the and did a Kernel flash....
and now i have a pretty logo screen
Ha !! ive got it Runnin ! loaded Stock ROM !!
Thanks for all the Help!!

Well, had the same issue. Cid 621. Didn't figure out what happened. Few times tried full wipe, installing the ROM which previously worked for me. Of course flashing appropriate boot. It was boot loop all the time. Was scared that I bricked my device. Thus tried final step - reverting to stock with ruu. And then everything worked. I was thinking that my hboot 1.33 was the latest for my cid. But after reverting to stock (well phone received two or three otas), hboot is showing 1.39. Thus my guess it is something very strange and could be hboot related. Otherwise I am lost. Currently still running stock after a year of custom Roms. Well it is not that bad after all. Will stay stock and see how it is for while.

Your hboot is enough for that...maybe you forgot to flash in fastboot with fastboot flash boot boot.img and fastboot erase cache ...if that doesn't help make a full wipe with also wiping system and reinstall whole Rom again....but I would say sense 5 Rom is much better then any aosp or cm Rom

Well, that is the point. I am "experienced" flasher. Thus repeated all this steps (even with factory resets, using clean scripts, manually formatting partitions, flashing CM-10.2 test build, which already worked for me with appropriate boot. Nothing helped!!! I wanted to try to log the problem, but since usb debugging was off, I couldn't get any logs. And had no other choice then to go back to stock.
PS Do not have a clue, since this was first time in my experience when Simple wiping and flashing didn't work. The only reasons which I see - either hboot related, or something with gapps. Perhaps I should have tried to flash rom without gapps. but I already on stock and wish to wait for the 4.2.2 update.

[Q] HTC One X rooting has phone dying in the pits of hell

Hello users of this fine forum! :highfive:
I'm having a bit of a problem whilst rooting my HTC One X.
I first read up about unlocking the phone, ADB and recovery mods (using the teamwin one since it seems to be recommended for my device, but can use clockwork too)
I then proceeded to:
unlock my phone using htcdev
do a fast wipe using the teamwin recovery mod
flash a new boot.img in the fastboot section
install the rom called Android Revolution HD 31.3
used a youtube guide called "HTC One X: Android Revolution HD (Sense 4.1 ICS 4.0.4) - How to Install - Cursed4Eva" which seemed to work pretty flawless
and... got stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant screen for the rest of eternity
I've got the HTC One X international (CID is HTC_E11) and thought this would be a breeze. Looks like something went wrong though, and after about 15 hours of trying to repair the problem on my own using multiple threads (had the same problem using viperrom 2.7.0 and the newest version (3.1.4 i think?) ) I thought I'd turn to the experts for help.
So... heroes of the internet, please help a brother on the quest for technological enlightenment out?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
P.S. if you need anything from me (such as logs or such, I'd be happy to provide)
EDIT: it now actually gives me the HTC One animation after the quietly brilliant startup thingy, but gets stuck on that step of the booting process. This happened after I re-fastbooted the boot.img for the 69th time.
EDIT 2: used CWM to install the rom aswell, this also doesn't work.

used a youtube guide called "HTC One X: Android Revolution HD (Sense 4.1 ICS 4.0.4) - How to Install - Cursed4Eva" which seemed to work pretty flawless
and... got stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant screen for the rest of eternity

ဲJust try with Philz_Touch recovery >>>> http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16046#files
Install again the rom with full wipe via Philz recovery.
okay, thanks!
does it matter which version i use?
by the way, phone is S-ON. as far as i read, this couldn't be the problem?
Use the latest version (6) and indeed s-on is not a problem.
Also check your hnoot number and flash a sense 5 rom.
Or PM me with future trouble, we can continue in Dutch if you like

Thanks for your help Mr Hofs will send you a PM aswell. Much appreciated.
The rom I'm flashing is sense 5.0, installed the rom with Phil'z Touch, CWM and TWRM, so I think it's safe to say that the recovery mod isn't causing my problem. What I do is install the rom from my internal sd card using a recovery mod, then reboot into fastboot and load the boot.img either via a batch file or via ADB commands in DOS prompt (or CMD. Do people still call it DOS? ). Yet my phone still hangs on the loading screen. I did a wipe before installing my rom using Phil'z touch aswell.
my hboot number.. the text I get when i enter bootloader:
***UNLOCKED***
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.12.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-2.1204.135.20
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
Jun 28 2012, 11:31:28
and then the standard options (fastboot, recovery and so on)
Ah yeah hnoot is too low. You can run the 2.17.401 ruu to get back to stock and then update the phone all the way up to sense 5.
Edit :
The ruu via android file ruu's is broken (only 80mb) that's too small for a ruu. You can also restore the stock rom (nandroid backup)

Unpack the nandroid to the sdcard, flash the recovery.img and boot.img from the nand backup folder. Make a full wipe and restore the nandroid. Then flash back the stock 2.17 recovery i linked and update the phone via official ota. You do not have to relock the bootloader !
