Hi guys,
Got my hands on the NGP from Incipio, an awesome TPU case that offers good protection while keeping a slim form factor. It is comfortable, lightweight and cutouts on the case are spot-on. Watch the video review for all info.
Anyone know how it compares to SGP's ultra-capsule?

Yup, I've been sent the Ultra Capsule for review as well, the Ultra Capsule is a lot more flexible but the buttons are WONDERFULLY easy to press. The Ultra Capsule is glossy whereas the NGP has a soft touch backing, I like it better since it provides better grip.
Cutouts are a little better on the Ultra Capsule but overall both cases are great.
Another good video, thank you

I'm sure you'll be pleased with the case!
Are buttons really hard to press?
I'm looking for such case... it seems to be parfect except this one little issue...
Its harder and lacks feedback but it means u dont accidentally change volume which is what i do when i dont use a case
The micro usb cut out is a little small but the oem cable and charger fit fine
However my blackberry micro usb cable cant fit in fully

Thanks for the vid. I bought the magenta one. Can't wait to receive it. Looks like it offers good protection and still manages to maintain a thin profile. A Win-Win case for me.
I like the Neo Hybrid too but wasn't too thrilled about the antenna cutout.
Just picked one up recently after purchasing a Casemate Barely There the day prior. Of the 50+ stores in my million + city NONE had them in stock. That is until I found the 51st retailer. FWIW I like the Barely There as well.
Overall a very good case. Same price point as the SGP Neo Hybrid, similar dimensions, etc... but higher quality. It's replacing a Neo Hybrid which suffered from the sag on the back side of the phone; I ran double side tape for a while, which worked, but then it pissed me off that I had to run double sided tape.
As much as I liked the Neo Hybrid initially, it wasn't worth the price IMO considering its construction, and sag issue. At the end of the day it costed more than the Incipio after factoring in shipping, etc... and it's not nearly as good. $25-30 isn't going to break the bank, but that's not the point.
Both: look good, are "economical", are slender, lightweight, and offer some protection.
The Neo Hybrid: would be a better case if it were priced at $15 and the rubber didn't sag after many heat cycles.
The Incipio: worth the cost, and much higher quality materials and build quality.
Caveat: This post will be updated if I experience any issues with the Incipio.
And yes, the power button is hard to press. I hold my phone with my left hand, and it takes much more force to press the power button with my index finger if I'm in one hand mode. Not as much of an issue for you right handers since you can use your thumb.
Curious if anyone has done "surgery" to the power button with a sharp knife? I'm thinking of making a small incision on either side to lighten up the action a bit.
Edit: micro USB port is "tight"; takes a little bit more force to attach the cable to the phone. It doesn't appear to alter the angle the micro USB enters the port however, so I doubt it will lead to charging port damage. Will see if it wears the case to accommodate itself before I break out the knife.
Can the power button be modified? Perhaps stick something inside the case to make the button more responsive?
Another question - has anyone tried the case with the Samsung 2000mah high capacity battery? It looks to me like the case would fit, but given how snug it is it may not.
I've got the official Moto folio for mine at the mo, and its not a bad bit of kit however, it has 2 annoying "features".
When you pop the bottom of the case off to stand the device up, the device "slips" inside the case and the plastic clip bits push the volume rocker.
I dont have a screen protector on mine and the protective ridges leave bars across the screen..
Anyone in the UK tried another case, or someone in the US perhaps with a case that I can get here in the UK?
glad it's not just me then! I'd assumed I'd just gotten a slight "dud" one when I found my Xoom slipping out slightly.
I also find that the bottom corners don't both fully clip over the tablet...I had assumed it was just because it was new (got it last week) and needed to bed in a little, but that may not be the case then.
The bars you mention annoyed me at first, but they wipe off so I'm not too fussed. Would be interested to hear views on other cases as well though
I've had no issues with my uk folio case, apart from the price I paid for it last year. It sits very firmly in the case and clips over fine, however I do have to apply pressure to get it to clip over properly whenever I am putting the case back on.

Same here, no problem with it slipping when popping the bottom of the case of to use as a stand. Its a firm tight fit.
As for the bottom not fully clipping over the tablet. I had that problem when I got my case. I sliced the two little nibs of plastic off and although its not a 100% fit, it does sit a lot better in the bottom half.
I've gone for this one as it seems to get great reviews

Hello everyone! I am going to present you my new case.
In the 20th of March I ordered the genuine Orzly hybrid fusion bumper case with the clear rear panel.
The case arrived at my home (I live in Greece, the case came from the UK) at the 24th of the same month while the delivery was estimated between 26/3/2014 and 1/4/2014. So it arrived two days earlier. Excellent service!
The cost was 8.5 euros.
The package was a big folder with bubbles and it was inside a transparent bag with the Orzly logo.
The case had a protector on its back to prevent from scratches, though I had to remove it because it was full of bubbles, so I couldn’t keep it as it was.
Some small defects were on the rear panel, so I tried to remove them with a dry towel. The result was having some very slight rows (like scratches but really small and in hand you can’t feel them).
Then I washed the case with hot water and soap but nothing happened.
I was a bit disappointed but they are hardly seen so I overpassed it.
It is small and does not fatten the phone.
In the hand the feeling is very nice as the black part is smooth and a bit soft. In the touch it is like the original back cover of our Moto G.
The rear panel does not keep many signs of my hand and it is pretty nice. Especially for anyone who have bought a colorful back cover it will be awesome!
The keys are covered by the case but it is very easy to push them. Of course the ports are not covered.
Overall I am satisfied with this case. Far better in look and in touch from others I' ve tried.
Hope I helped with this thread.

Came in the Orzly package and everything, the just don't want to say in the internet that they are selling the Orzly cover cheaper than Orzly itself

Hello everyone
I'll be doing a short review, for the CaseMate - Tough Case for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Smartphone.
I'm not a professional reviewer, so I'll speak as a casual user.
Here's the official page for this case : Tough Case
Let's start with the basics, I ordered mine through Amazon for 27 euros and it arrived in less than a week , wonderful job from them during this time of the year.
I received the package this morning at my favorite drop point (Relais-Colis, quite useful here) and I decided to pick it up on my way to work.
As I am the impatient type, I decided to try it on as soon as I got back in my car
Unboxing
Well, let's be honest, I'm kind of disappointed with this case... The plastics look cheap and dont have the "tough" feel I expected from them.
But it's not the most problematic point since most manufacturers tends to do this, the case doesn't fit my brand new phone the way it should do it but it's easy to see why.
CaseMate didn't think through the whole thing, by leaving the left top side (the USB connector zone) unprotected to allow us to easily charge our phone, they weakened the corner construction and allowed a gap to exist between the case and the back of the phone.
Gap between phone and case
Another view angle
Coming from a product with this price tag, this is a huge let down for me.
I even tried to force the case to fit (not too much, didn't want to break my precious...) but to no avail, the gap is here.
Well, on the bright side we can see that CaseMate really tried to do something sturdy, the 3 corners where the phone is fitting nicely confirm this.
All in all, it could have been a wonderful product but something, somewhere, went horribly wrong...
[EDIT] Right below, @madsb produced pictures of his own Z3c with this case, so I tried it again to check if I did something wrong, well I made it fit a little better but it's still not perfect and I still don't think it will really protect the whole thing.
The pros
The 3 fully protected corners looks... well... protected
Unusual design
The cons
Cheap plastics (both internal and external layers)
Wrong assembly for the top left corner
High price
Verdict
I'm fairly disappointed at CaseMate for selling me some sweet dreams with this case and for delivering this kind of finitions, they could have really worked a little harder to fix the top left corner, as for the look and feel, it's nice but not enough to redeem the former flaw.
So for me, this case is a no-no
I've already arranged the return & refund with Amazon, I hope my next case will do the trick this time.
[EDIT] I've just ordered a Ringke Fusion (Black mate), should be at my doorstep in a week, I'll post a review asap.
Q&A
Anyone here bought the same case but didn't have this issue ? Or are we all doomed with this not-so-good case ?
There is someone who used a Case Mate Tough case from a Z1 Compact. He said fit was perfect but minor alterations will need to be done for the camera flash. Buttons lined up and worked, power button was slightly off but said it still worked fine. I'm tempted to buy the Z1 case and cut it for the flash and the magnetic charger, if you look in the Z1 forums the magnetic charger cutting has been done and is fairly simple. A bonus will be our USB port while exposed to a point the Z1 case cutout isn't large enough so it should keep this port shut. Just wish I could find the case cheaper then about $30 + shipping.
I am also using this case and in my case (no pun intended...) it covers all four corners just fine. If I push on the corner in question I can make it sit in the position shown on you picture, but without manipulation it will sit as intended.
You can see how it sits on mine on:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yb8nirtsb9gaffu/20150102_103907.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcza07b8w5krb59/20150102_094301.jpg?dl=0
So far I have dropped my Z3C in the ground twice and in both cases it survived without a scratch which I attribute to the Casemate Tough Case. Others have voiced their opinion over the fact that most of one side is not covered by the case. I think that it is highly unlikely that this will actually be a problem since the case protrudes further out over both corners which mean that the phone would have to drop on its side on an object (and not just a flat surface) to hit anything.
In the end I think case design for the Z series devices is a compromise between water protection and drop protection. If the case covered the magnetic charging connector (like the Z1C Casemate Tough Cover did) you would have to open the USB port cover every day which will compromise the water protection in the longer term. Personally I prefer the solutions Casemate made in the Z3C case compared to the Z1C Case.

@FSRBIKER it could be a viable solution altough I'm not very fond of fiddling with the case, they're not intended to be cutted and if something bad happens they will simply say "you should not have modified our case, it's not our problem".

@madsb thanks for the heads up, maybe mine has a defect, I'll try it again just to check but it's kind of strange that things like that happen with such a pricey product.
[EDIT] As a matter of fact, I did try to get it to fit like @madsb, and it seems that this time it looks like it fits, but I'm still wondering if it's a perfect match or not.
Either way, as soons as I receive the new one, I'll try it out and check which one I'll keep. I'll update my initial review with this new fact.
Have this case as well. Used it for 1 week. The bad fit on the corner is really bad. Dropped it on the screen, and the casing was pushed back on the top, leaving no lip to protecting the glass. Considering this to be a tough case, this is unaccepteble.

Thanks for sharing this.
It confirm the fear I expressed when @madsb mentionned the fact that he was able to make it "fit", the loose top left corner can be problematic if not checked by the phone's owner.

I'm trying to find a case with a belt clip but I've only found one believe it or not. Searching Amazon I've found the same case rebranded a hundred times over.
Problem is, I bought one and it has a critical flaw. With the case on the phone, insert it into the slip holster (aka clamshell) and the railing of holster constantly pushes the power button, so every time I pull out the phone, it reboots! I though it was my phone at first. Anyway, all designs on Amazon are the same! Just overseas made and sold by differing names.
I checked eBay too
I have found some nice horizontal cases (with a flap) that I think will work but I'm feeling like I will never see a true clamshell or clip design for this device...
I don't pocket my phones at all. I find it ruins the finish and is uncomfortable to me.
Just a rant. Anyone know of a well built case that offers a belt clip. I'll pay the price for a quality case, gladly!

A crazy idea that might work....
I had an idea! The Axon 7 measures 5.97 x 2.95 x .31 and the Google Pixel XL measures 6.09 x 2.98 x .33. With my TPU case on, I think if I purchase the Seidio spring clip holster this might just fit the bill. The side rails might be cutting it close, but I am willing to take the chance.

I tried that one. It has a critical design flaw. When I put it into the belt holder, the belt holder pushes, and holds, the power button hard-rebooting my phone every time. I think the inner rubber phone case fits loosely which causes too much material over the power button. LOL Otherwise it isn't that bad of a combo.

Received my Poetic Revolution series case for my A7 today. I am very impressed by it thus far, especially by the built-in screen protector since there are no full screen tempered glass protectors for the A7 due to the curved glass. I don't plan on tossing my phone around to test out the durability but it feels like it is going to offer some good protection all around.
Is there any flip cover case with sleep/lock function, like the original?
Couldn't find any, on ebay or EU amazons, except the original from US which costs 55 $ with postage to Europe...
Nillkin, who has such nice quality and economy cases, has not produced an Axon 7 case.
Any suggestions pleaseeee ?

You can buy the original from ZTE or B&H. Both dropped the price to 9.99 USD. B&H I know ships internationally-don't know about ZTE.

Please report back when you get it, as I'm very curious how it works with signal - every metal case I've ordered in the past for my other phones has reduced the signal slightly to significantly. I had thought the slightly wasn't a problem - what's a decrease of 1-2 bars when you're at full strength anyway?
The problem is when you're in a poor signal area and you NEED that 1 bar and you have to take the phone out of the case to work!
On another note, I wish that someone would make a simple backless bumper case - I miss those days when I could use my phone practically naked with just a protective bumper around the sides.

Ah, sorry to hear about that - I was hoping you had good news, but it seems not only did you not get what you wanted, but have to go through a bit of inconvenience to return the product. I appreciate that you shared your experience, though- thanks a lot for saving me from the same mistake.
I've using my poetic case for a few months now, and thus far I have a few complains
- flaps they remain open after a while, I cut them off both recently
- screen protector awful scratches easily, removed it and used a higher quality protector instead
now is near perfect the case plays well with third party screen protectors and is VERY sturdy, has saved me from QUITE a few drops

I spent tons of time looking for cases for the Axon 7 and found that honestly there are 5 variants. The poetic tank case, the Spigen "rugged armor" case, the dual layer (rubber plus plastic) case thats rebranded by tons of companys, the "iron man" dual layer case (Also rebranded by various companies), and the belt clip one with terrible reviews because of the problem you stated. There are a few others that are some variation of the above or some see-through ones with bumpers but honestly none seemed satisfactory.
In light of this I decided to opt for ZTE's own hybrid material case. I haven't dropped the phone since I put it on but it is definitely sturdier than the case they included with the phone and the material is hard enough yet flexible enough that it seems like it would be able to take a hit without causing any damage to the phone. It also fits really well and is not bulky either. I realize this might not be what you're looking for but for some strange reason good quality cases are far and few between for this phone (perhaps due to some kind of licensing issue from ZTE?) so that case might be your best bet :/. You could potentially get some other kind of belt holster and have this phone sit in it while in the case.

Aluminum doom
Though this question was posed back in May , I didn't see a response answering the question so I'll answer it for you in case anyone else is curious . I purchased the Mirror case for $3.89 on eBay in piano black . ( I always seem to find better deals there and easier to navigate then the Big A but that's just my opinion). It is indeed a beautiful case and mine came in with no damage whatsoever . Indeed it is a tight fit putting the back on but once you get it in place everything does line up perfectly . The concern from another member was whether or not the signal would be blocked with the aluminum casing around the edges . The answer is a very easy yes . The signal degrades horribly . I only get two bars inside my home and with the case on it dropped to 0 with no signal whatsoever . It does get some signal outside but it's not worth using this case if I may be missing important calls or messages from clients . Sadly it's just a beautiful case with poor execution with the materials involved . Fortunately I didn't lose much on the case itself . I really wanted this one to work strictly because it looked so awesome even though it's not great when it comes to protecting the phone itself in a drop . Hope this helps if anyone else was curious about the case.
