Hello all of you,
Does anyone know if there is a mod or something that makes the Galaxy Nexus play AVI without converting the video or playing it with some app like rockplayer?
Im wachting movies all the time on my mobile phone and converting takes a lot of time. And RockPlayer doesnt get the subtitles..
So does anyone know if there is a solution?
Greetings

As above. I am running AOKP ROM and Franco kernel. Did not OC. 720p videos will go out of sync with the audio. Some of the videos will also stutter a little.
Anyone managed a smooth playing 720p?

i can even stream them thorugh youtube (stock/stock btw)
Try BSPlayer Free.
+1 BSPlayer Free - I am able to play full 1080p mkv's and even some 1080p m2ts vids with it. Some of those have issues on MX Player but the sound output from MX seems to be better. Haven't had issues with vids yet on BSPlayer though.
ive had no problems with mobo player and 720p videos.
I was using MX player and watching HD anime rips.
Maybe I give BS player a go and see.
YouTube HQ works fine. Its just the HD mkvs

I have the vizio co-star, (Google tv) and was watching a YouTube video on my phone and saw a weird button. I pressed it, and bam, the video started playing on my tv. I then found there are apps to control the co-star with my phone as a remote. Anyone else have Google tv? Is there anything else you can stream to it? I tried to share my own videos I recorded on my phone, but can't get it to stream. Amy other cool things you can do with it?

Oh man i would love to be able to stream youtube videos to my tv or my parents' home theater. Right now i can only do it with audio/pics/video that i play through the stock music player or gallery.
Nothing on 3rd party apps like youtube, poweramp or pandora

I have the Sony Internet Player. Love it. I just wish there was more development for it.

What's the best movie player for playing 720p files? I've heard the stock player doesn't play all file formats. What do you use?
MX Player is always a great choice and is always one of the first things I download when I get a new device

I second the use of MX Player - been running it on both my phone and the Nexus 7 and it's great. I like that it was gesture controls as well as on-screen buttons.
The app called 'MX player' is the best player I found. It plays just about any type of video format you there.

I've had luck with BSPlayer
Should have posted this in the Apps subforum. That's why it is there.

I used MX player since I purchased the N7 and i found it almost perfect. For everything else, you can try the nightlies of XMBC. Probably once it will be polished will be a good alternative.
no love for Diceplayer?

I did not know about this one, thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try!
So far I've been using MXplayer, however, and ideally, I wish I could solely use VLC as I'd prefer to rely on open source software.

+1 for diceplayer and the plugin that allows DTS playback without sync issues
Just use MX

I use bsplayer

Diceplayer works well for me using hardware decoding.
MXplayer stutters for me using hardware decoding. Software decoding works fine on MXplayer, but uses more battery than h/w decoding.
Nothing I have found gas played 1080p video with DTS audio add well add bsplayer. This is very important to me add I rather not have top convert or download different versions for my mobile device

No one here uses "Super Video, Floating and Popup"? This and Mobo player have been ole faithfuls for me. For one Super Video has gestures, (turn volume up and down while watching movie), Also after one video ends, it automatically plays another. (Works very well when watching saved music videos, and don't want to have to click on another video after the last one ended.) It also has minimizes to a small floating video so you can see your home screen in the background while you continue to watch movies/videos.
If MXplayer does this also, i might need to give it a try.
The stock gallery app is easily the best for playing videos it supports.
I don't think other players support the LPcore and stuff, and they use waaay too much processing power. I have tried 3rd party ones but they all use more than one core at nearly full freq most of the time. This is why I'm using stock
Feel free to prove me wrong though
This is driving me nuts, got the 8 as an anime player since the tegra processor in the nexus played mkvs well, thought this would too. Nope, mxplayer errors outon all videos, and what is odd is the stock video player plays half of them but not all. It isnt an issue with 10bit, as it will play a 10bit cile I have but some older ones it only will play a few of them. How would I go about finding the cause and fixin it?
Try change to s/w decoder not sure if you have tried it, its default setting is h/w

For some reason h/w mode gives problems on almost all my videos. Weird glitches like audio and video being WAY out of sync and s/w mode fixes all that.

I use the archos player no issues so far with any videos.
