"lightbox_download": "Download",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
NOTE: Follow all steps carefully.I am not responsible if you damage your phone.
So lets start:
1.Decompile the app in which you want to add the another app shortcut + the app which you want to add under that option
(Hope iam clear)
2.Download attatched files from attachments and merge with your 1st decompiled app.
3.NOW, Open the xml in layout folder where you want to add the app screenshot.
[Like in statusbar You need to edit statusbar_expanded.xml]
4.Add this code where you want to place the appcaller button.
Code:
<com.appscaller.Apps android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@id/appcaller" />
5.Now, Open res/values/ids.xml and add this in the last above </resources>
Code:
<item type="id" name="appcaller">false</item>
6.Compile your app.
7.Decompile it again.
8.Now open res/values/public.xml and search for "appcaller" and "appcallericon" and note their ids .
Now open smali/com/appcaller/Apps.smali
and search for
Code:
0x7f
9.Copy that whole id and replace that with your "appcaller" ids id.
10.Search again for the code and copy whole id and replace that id with the id of "appcallericon" drawable in public.xml
11.Now open the 2nd decompiled app and open its Android-manifest.xml.
12.Copy the code written under package on the first line .
13.Now open smali/com/appcaller/apps$1.smali and search "package" and add the copied code there.
14.Open 2nd apps Android-manifest.xml again and check the first <activity and in it check android:name="COPY THE CODE WRITTEN HERE" and then open smali/com/appscaller/apps$1.smali in 1st app and search "name" and
then add the copied code from "package" +"name" with second app.
for eg if package is
HTML:
com.android.deskclock
" and name is "deskclock" then
name should be written like this "
HTML:
com.android.deskclock.deskclock
(HOPE YOU UNDERSTOOD IT)

Its like a shortcut that u can add this like in dialer to open your app like facebook
u could also rempve th ID value in source code and simply change the smali name for every app u want.
like TaskButton for taskmanager
or DialerButton for dialer and such .

I was woundering if someone could give me a guide on how to create a new theme or change the one I already has?
Im currently using Go Launcher Ex, but if you know of another launcher I can use, where I can create my own theme, please let me know!
I've seen a lot of themes for ADW so I assume they arent hard to make/there is something out there to make them easy to create (I don't know)
As for Go Launcher, I think it's the best thing out there and I have no interest of switching from it. While I don't know how to make a "Theme", I have managed to thoroughly customize my phone via the features provided with the launcher.
You can see some of my screen shots in this post I made earlier:

If this helps you at all please hit Thanks

It's not its purpose, but Link2sd is showing the paths/names of the installed .apk and it's usually a string looking like that one (I don't use yahoo, can't check)
either, if you can ls /data/app, it should give you the list of your installed apps with the com.[...].apk name:
Code:
com.buak.Link2SD-2.apk
com.gau.go.launcherex-2.apk
com.gau.golauncherex.notification-2.apk
com.mediawoz.goweather-1.apk
org.connectbot-1.apk
...
But i'm not sure that's the string you need.

I would like to learn how to theme to. The link above worked but the download from that page is a JNLP file, when you open JNLP file it pop ups with certificate problems. Not sure if you can even upload to market with that. I read a few posts that tells you what files to theme but nothing that tells you how to actually put color into it. I'm new to all this & really want to learn how to theme for Go launcher & Dev LWP. If anyone could post some help or links to TUTS it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
EXTRA APPLICATION OPTION IN SETTINGS MENU
This is my first thread, so please ignore my errors.
We have seen custom ROMs having some extra options in settings. This is a guide of adding these options.
This guide is for Galaxy y, but also can work for devices with similar settings.apk (like Ace, duos etc.)
Prerequisites:-
1) A rooted phone (I can't strech how important this is )
2) Backup your orginal settings.apk
3) Basic knowledge of decompiling and recompiling.
Procedure:-
1)Decompile settings.apk and apk of the app you want to put. (I am decompiling Proximity Actions)
2) Go to decompiled app folder and open AndroidManifest.xml. Note Package and Target Class. (Marked with red circle Attachment # 1)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3) Open decompiled folder of settings. Go to /res/values/strings.xml. Open with Notepad++.
Enter code <string name="prxt_ctrl">Proximity Control</string> in the end before /resources>. You can edit red coloured text to anything which you want to appear in settings. You can also give any string name, but remember it.
4) You need an icon to put in settings(You can get it from that decompiled app). Resize it to 24x24 pixels (FOR GALAXY Y ONLY)
5) Put that icon in settings/res/drawable-Idpi with any name(remember it). I have given name ic_settings_prxt
6) Go to settings/res/xml/settings.xml. Open with Notepad++
7) Add code <com.android.settings.IconPreferenceScreen android:title="@string/prxt_ctrl" settings:icon="@drawable/ic_settings_prxt">
<intent android:targetPackage="novum.inceptum.proximity" android:action="android.intent.action.MAIN" android:targetClass="novum.inceptum.proximity.PA_Activity" />
</com.android.settings.IconPreferenceScreen>
Here string is used from step 3. Use icon from step 4. Package and targetClass from step 2.
8) Save and compile Settings.apk and complete formalities of recompiling.
9) Push Settings.apk to /system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r--.
10) Enjoy
PRESS THANKS IF HELPED. I REALLY NEED IT.

No. That guide has different Settings structure. It is for Xperia Arc where menus are classified by category.
In our Galaxy y, we don't have settings_header.xml.
Indeed both guides are similar, but I think a set of simple instructions would be helpful, so I have written this thing.

If you have not edited Manifest of your SETTINGS APP (IMPORTANT), then you don't have to sign that APK. Just open both apks (newly compiled and original) in 7zip 7zip ONLY (Right click on apk ====> 7zip ====> Open archive)
Then drag META-INF of original apk to compiled apk and push to /system/app and change permission to 644 (rw-r--r--)
Same problem

Wifi Name, original idea from sir [user=4715592]@mariozawa[/user], but sadly, he didn't
release or continue it. This is also what we had on my theme, Android L
theme. It updates whenever you open/close your wifi. It gets the SSID
of the connection that is being scanned. So the bug here, it gets the
SSID even we are not connected, but I did put an onClickListener that will
make it to update whenever you got null or wrong SSID. You can put it
wherever you want. Let's get Started!
Steps
1.) Decompile your SystemUI.apk.
2.) Download ten_WifiName.zip on attachment and extract it to your smali/com folder.
3.) Now put this line:
Code:
<com.tenten.WifiName android:layout_width="100.0dip" android:layout_height="25.0dip" android:textSize="17.659973dip" android:textColor="#ffffffff" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal" />
I didn't use wrap_content so you can still click it to update whenever it gets null SSID
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
4.) Recompile your SystemUI.apk and push or flash it.
5.) If working, dont forget to.. yeah , to jump! hehe
NOTE: Dont put it on status_bar_tracking.xml. Any customviews that i putted there was not clickable, I dont know why, only the close drag handle that was built-in. Any help/information on why we cant click on that layout is appreciated. Thank you

Could you explain more detail, step by step to do it?
Do I need to update Settings.apk only (don't need to modify Settings.odex)?
EDIT:
Dont sign system apk`s.
Copy original meta-inf and android manifest.xml to the modified apk.
That should do the trick.

Hey folks.
This is a small guide on "HOW TO ADD CUSTOM TEXT IN STATUS BAR" by editing your SystemUI.
I know some of you may know this but many users don't know about this and they are like asking about "HOW TO ADD CUSTOM TEXT IN STATUS BAR" again and again. So, people go for Xposed Modules. But they are battery drainers and not so compatible.
P.S.: If this is too difficult for you then post your systemui with your "text" below and I will do it for you when I'll get time.
