I am running a UK Rom with the CDMA v2 patch on my Verizon R800x. I have a couple of PS1 games installed and recently I went to load up the PSX Pocket app to play them and all the games show up fine. But when i select a game it loads up but says "Updating". I thought maybe its for the PSX pocket app but after trying all the games and letting them sit there with the "updating" for about 15-30 minutes each ( I have 5 games) I dont know whats going on. I have used it before and its worked. Even the default Crash game does the same thing. And yes all the zpaks are in teh Android/Data folder and the apk for each games are installed and I moved the zpaks first then installed the apks. Anyone have ny ideas what going on?
k, so in installed a different playstation pocket and now it says that when I load a game to "Buy again" or "cancel". I dont understand why I am getting this message.
I live in the UK and I'm currently on holiday in New York. I converted my m8 to a Google play edition a couple of months ago, so it's rooted with s-off.
Up until now I have had 0 problems with the phone. But after arriving in the US I have absolutely no use of Google services. Email, Play store, maps apps, when I try to use them I just get a "No connection" error. I've tried restarting several times but this makes no difference. I've also tried using Play store via the Firefox browser but although I get access to the store OK, when I try to download any apps, they don't get installed or downloaded.
I have full access and 0 issues with my stock Galaxy Tab S 10.5, but it isn't really practical (or safe) carrying it around when I'm out and about.
A little help or advice would be great.
Has anyone else had any issues with the Play Store on their Fire TV? I updated the Play Store on mine to a newer version, mainly because every time I tried to download something I'd get stuck with that annoying spinning circle. Now when I go into, I get a message saying it can't connect to the Internet, even though the other apps on my Fire can. I'm even typing this on my Fire through Firefox, after being told by the Play Store there's no connection. Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to download the game Implosion: Never Lose Hope, and I know I can get it through Aptoid, but the thing stops a little more than half way through giving me an error, forcing me to start it over again from the beginning. Thanks in advance.
Bump, bumpity, bump. Am I the only one who's experienced this? For a while, the Play Store was already acting funky, taking forever to start a download, if it did. At least then it connected, but now I get nothing. I'm not a noob to Android, but little things like this confuse me a bit, especially when comparing the settings on my Fire, S4, and Tab 3 8.0. They all look similar. Oh, well, maybe I missed some small thing that's hiding from me.

Google play store has stopped working on the Fire phone as well.
I can open it but all there is is a white screen with a search bar. And the search bar doesn't pull up results. Is this happening to more users?
I wish I knew how to fix it. As long as I have it installed, even though I can't do anything with it, I can still play the games that require Google Play Store to be installed. The load issues with the Play Store were so annoying, I have been using Aptoid to download games. The downside to using Aptoid, though, is that when you look up something like Implosion: Never Lose Hope, only two pop up; the big one with a 1.1gig download and the smaller one that prompts for a data pack download. The big one stops a little more than half way through and I have to start all over again, and the smaller one never takes me to the download. The game I'm talking about is free, by the way, on the Play Store. It says only the first 6 levels are free and you have to pay to play the rest of the game, but it looks so cool. Anyway, had to get that out. Laters.
same here, first it was just the spinning circle on a white screen
I tried clearing the cache and data for all google relayed apps, rebooted
No dice, now it somehow still knows my Google account, but says it can't connect..

Last night on a different thread, I got a good tip. All we did was delete Google play services on aftv and play store worked again. Don't ask me why...I always assumed it was necessary but apparently not.

I started playing around with another app market I read about in a different thread on this forum called 1 Mobile Market. It looks kind of similar to the Play Store and references it on some of the apps. I haven't downloaded much with it yet except the game Implosion: Never Lose Hope, but it only downloaded a 20 MB apk, kind of like installing Dead Trigger and then the data pack, except the data pack never comes, so the market may be a little hit-or-miss.

Actually, I tried the same. I noticed that both google play service and google play store were updated automatically to some later version, so I uninstalled them and reinstall the old version (4.x), then I can launch google play store. However, only one. The second time, I launch play store, the same white screen showed up. And I can see bot play service and play store were (once again) updated to later version automatically.
I also have problem with youbue app now. It simply does not play video (sound is ok), not sure if it is related or not.
not in my case but i m looking for full version as only two stages can be played in demo version downloaded from store so if anyone can give me correct link or any kind of source of either full version or crack then it would be appreciated and helpful
Hi,
After successfully installing google play and updating to the latest play services everything is working perfectly, apart from the fact that two of my apps downloaded from the Amazon app store (TuneIn Radio and Crossy Road) now remain stuck on their loading screens. They were working before the google play install and I have uninstalled google play once to test it and they began working again. It appears that they stop working after the latest google play services update, as they continue to work initially after installing google play before updating play services. I've also tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them from the google play store instead of the Amazon app store and they still remain stuck at the loading screen. Does anyone have a fix for this? If so any help will be much appreciated.
Why not try installing them from the Play Store?

I have tried that but they both still remain stuck at the loading screen, do they work for you?
tune in radio
Tune in works fine on mine, though I have the pro version. Should be the same, I'd think. Crossy Road installed and plays fine.

TuneIn the free version that I installed from Google Play works fine for me. Clearing the cache and data before uninstalling, and deleting the apps from your Amazon account on their web site?

Thanks for both confirming that they work on your fire phones. I have cleared the cache and reinstalled again but they still don't work, I even purchased Tunein radio pro from the google play store and even that won't load. I think i've found the problem, as it appears to be caused by updating to the latest google play services, as after uninstalling the google play packages, both apps begin to work again even once google play is initially installed again, but then they both cease to work following the latest google play services update to 7.5.71. Apart from those two apps everything else appears to be working fine and i've had no issues with the google play store itself. Could it be due to the fact that my fire phone has the O2 UK version of fire OS 4.6.1? As I never bothered installing the US unlocked version because the play store is functioning fine on the O2 UK version.
Just fyi, I have the same version Google Play services. I got the official system update over the air. And my phone is the unlocked US model, purchased directly from Amazon.
I had that issue with some of my apps because the play store tried to take ownership and I guess war broke out with the apps caught in between.
try uninstalling the apps, then take off automatic updates in the playstore settings, then reinstalling from the amazon store, this has worked for me in some cases but not all, neither can update whats app right now but since it's capable of updating itself it doesn't bother me.
A few months back, I had side-loaded Google apps onto my stock device.
(I'm on 4.6.6.1 now - not sure if this upgrade happened recently...)
I am using it with a Project Fi data-only sim and letting the kid use it for Pokemon Go.
All of a sudden, PoGo won't start (GPS signal not found), and I can't load the Play Store (it just says at a blank white screen). Anyone else have something like this happen, and is there a simple fix?
Me too, today Nov 11 my google maps and play store dont work
same for me since 4 days....
I'm not on stock atm but in the past that exact thing would happen to my Google play if Google sent an update for it's services that somehow broke it on the firephone. Google has made about 3 updates this month so try reinstalling an older version or something and see if it works.
I don't need this when the whole world is falling apart.

All my fire phones were working fine with side loaded framework, google services, play store etc. as explained in the xda forum. They would automatically update and nothing broke except for a brief period a year or so ago which got fixed automatically after a few days. I know Google broke it with an update at that time, but not sure who fixed it -- Amazon or Google.
But now, the same things has happened. With Google Services update a couple of days ago things have come off their moorings.
Youtube, Maps, and the Play store itself are on the blink. Other things which require Play services also are gone, of course.
I am afraid, this time around, Amazon seems to have really given up on the fire phone. So the chances are quite bleak that they would take any trouble to fix this. eg. They don't even support Amazon Music Unlimited, and Audible on their own Fire Phone! Both are Amazon's own products!!
Check out this thread, last couple pages. Got me going again (for now, anyways).

Same here - good to see it was neither me, nor I'm alone, yet let's see how to solve this!
Got me going for a day and a half..

Thanks. That got me going for 36 hours. Then it automatically started updating, and back to square one... Google Play Services has stopped working blah blah blah..
The deicsion to freeze and branch off from a version of Android was a very short-sighted selfish, customers-be-damned decision.
Amazon seems to be a really bad version of Apple without the technical wherewithal to sustain itself.
What a pity. The fire phone itself is a great one.
Is there any chance that a non-Google non-Amazon fix can work at all?

Since we're here, I'm assuming we have our phones rooted. That said, is there some way to just block the updater with a firewall or something similar?
The new google play services update broke all amazon google services in stock fire OS
We have to block the update process or wait for fix in next play services update
Anyone find a way to fix it
Br,
Shahzaib Jahangir
I had this exact same problem and it started last night as well, I tried reinstalling but then I got the "Google Play Services has stopped" message repeatedly, i'll keep looking as I need this fix asap for work

"Wrong!!"
Sorry, the would is still fresh..
No.. none of my phones is rooted. The beauty of this Xda-forum solution of side loading the four files (Account framework, Account Manager, play services, & play store) was that they don't have to be rooted.
Just update framework and Login Component to Version 4.4.4 and delete the data from store and Services and everything should be fine.

Updating all manually to the newest kitkat version does seem to do it (though, I only just did it). Didn't even check the versions as I assumed they auto-updated as well. Should last a bit longer now till that version is too old.
Good catch. Thanks.

Not sure if people are still following this thread but I thought to share. I was able to sideload Amazon music unlimited. It disables native music app but doesn't launch using the same app link. I need to use ES Explorer's App library function to select and launch. Otherwise it works well. Not sure if the audible app would work the same.
