[Q] Slow UI and Call Waiting Issues - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm running AOKP Toro JB MR1 milestone 2 on VZW. I use rocket dial for my dialer. It seems this is a recurring process. I flash the ROM install my favorite apps, things are snappy and new for a while and then slowly the phone regresses further and further into a lagging and frustrating experience speed wise. Button presses take longer and longer to register in all apps, looking up names in rocket dial takes 2-3 seconds for each button press to register and sort the contact names by each additional character. What usually breaks it for me and forces me to reflash etc. is the call performance. It will take 10-20 seconds or more to connect a call once i hit the dial button before i start to hear the ringing tone. If i'm already on a call and have an incoming call on call waiting, when i try to switch over i instantly hear very loud static that starts and stops every 1-2 seconds and then the phone drops both calls. When this starts to happen i get frustrated and try to reflash the ROM. How can i determine what is causing these issues and eliminate the culprit? Is it too many apps taking up some specific kind of memory in the device, or is it a specific app that may be causing it. I just don't know of any way to do performance testing and drill down to the root cause. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Answering calls lag (so annoying!!)

Anyone having issues with the desire delay of about a second after you press the answer icon. I press it once, nothing happens, so I think I havent pressed it so I hit it again just as the button changes to "End call" cutting off the person calling you.
I`ve done it two days running now anyone else having this issue.
When I answer, I just pause before putting it to my ear.
There may be a small pause but I dont have any issues. Has this happened from day 1 or is it getting worse?
Maybe if its getting worse some apps are causing the Desire to lag, try turning the handset off and on, dont open any apps, wait 1 minute and get someone to call you to see if it makes a difference.
Happened since day one I think. have tried killing all non-critical apps and tried calling from my home phone and no difference , always some lag. But I also noticed its random. Tried about 10 times , sometimes its a 1 second delay, another was 2+secs.
Think this is why sometimes I`m pressing twice and cancelling the call.
happens to me also. had an interesting thing happening to me yesterday: after answering the call vibrate function still carried out through the call and it did not stop even after ending the call. i had to restart the device.

Calls dropping?

So my phones having weird issues, I'm using CM9 and didn't find anything like i'm having.
Sometimes when I go to make a call, it will go past dialing and give me the call time and at like 5 seconds before i hear a ring it will drop. Like before the call goes out it will just drop, usually i will just try once or twice more and it wil work. As well i have been getting calls where it will ring once then stop like they just hung up.
Today i had a time where i couldn't get any calls to go out, i tried like 10 times then i restarted the phone and it worked. Anyone have any ideas or things to try?

Aokp and call delay

(Well... I wouldn't have gotten off stock had it not crashed and rebooted my phone periodically every dew hours...if anyone would like to help me out, please do - but I'm using AOKP now and the last kmsg on stock didn't show ANYTHING except for a watchdog error... but I digress)
In AOKP, despite the niggles there are (back/keyboard down arrow when in landscape), there is one odd thing I have noticed: say, my phone is sleeping and I get a call - the phone in the stock ROM would wake up instantaneously but in AOKP, it takes a minimum of a few seconds before I can decide what I want to do with the call.
Is there a patch available for this? Is there a workaround?
(I read CNA fixed the down arrow in landscape but the fact that the *#*#4636#*#* menu has been put elsewhere and that the dialer crashes when I type that sorta irks me ... but it might give me a reason to use that over AOKP if there's no solution to the call ringing delay problem).
BTW, no 3G here... all calls are on 2G, with or without WiFi turned on but with data enabled.

Pixel 2 XL Issues Dialer extremely slow & Deafening notification beeps during calls

Pixel 2 XL Issues Dialer extremely slow & Deafening notification beeps during calls
*Copy/pasted from the Pixel 2 forum. Whoops!*
Hi all,
I had a quick search on the forums but couldn't find anything related to this. I'm unsure if it's a problem with just the Pixel 2 XL or Android. I've installed all OTA updates and the phone is running 8.1.0. It had both of these errors prior to updating. I have also replaced the entire handset and tested again. Still occurring. I have a Pixel 2 also, which does NOT experience these issues. I'm also running stock, no root/roms. *edit* I went through Google support for both issues, they couldn't find any solutions. They suggested a factory reset and then replaced the handset.
The dialer:
Intermittent problem. Basically when you open the dialer or a contact and initiate a call, the app often freezes for an indeterminate amount of time. It could be 10 seconds it could be over a minute. Eventually it will move to the "call" screen and then freezes/lags again. Once more this can be any length of time up to a minute or more. All other apps work perfectly fine during this process. Eventually the call initiates and you can hear it ring, once in call everything behaves normally.
The notifications:
This one is simple. During a call receiving an SMS or other notification results in an electronic beep sound which plays at full volume. It does the same thing after the call ends. I'm not sure if it's using call or external speakers as the volume is so damn loud it doesn't matter. It legitimately causes me to throw the phone away from my ear and I cannot hear anything besides buzzing for 20 minutes. It actually hurts.
Nothing I do has stopped this except to turn on DND before I make or receive a call, which is useless. I read a few other threads about this being a new feature in 8.1.0 and "intentional". However I think those are referring to the call end beep, or notifications during a call that make the designated notification sound, not a deafening beep. The threads I read suggested removing third party apps and phone permissions, I used a brand new handset and the beeps still happened.
Please does anyone have a suggestion? I'll try anything at this point.
I have noticed a similar problem that has cropped up recently - I cant make consecutive calls. If I hang up from a call and then try to make another the phone sits there. The phone button animates but doesn't do anything. If I try 20 seconds later it will sit there for about 10 seconds and then make the call. If I wait about two or so minutes it will work. Incoming calls are different.. if I am in that "period" of time, the phone will ring and if I am not in the phone app - meaning the incoming call screen pops up - I can answer it. If its a heads up incoming call I cant answer it. I must turn the screen off and then back on to get to the full screen to answer it. I am on 17.0.186697879 which I believe is the latest.
I've had the delayed calling problem for almost 2 months. The problem also includes sometimes not being able to answer a call from the notification shade when the screen was already on. Toggling airplane mode alleviates the problem temporarily.
There's a lengthy thread in the OG pixel threads with the many users with the problem. Also a lengthy thread on one of the Google support threads. Someone there suggested it had something to do with the mlb at bat app. I think that has since been debunked. I haven't found a solution yet and Google hasn't made an official acknowledgement yet.
This issue suddenly appeared on my Pixel 2 couple of days ago. Tried all the hacks and solution, but even turning off all the knobs in the phone permissions screen didn't help.
I have android 8.1.0
Build OPM1.171019.021

Difficulty answering calls

Is anyone else having a problem answering calls? On an incoming call, I can hit the green button over and over, yet it won't answer. Sometimes, I can get to the full dialer screen where I can swipe down to answer, but in my panic to answer, can't seem to get to it every time.
I've also noticed that oftentimes, pressing a contact to dial them will take up to 30 seconds or so. Just as with an incoming call, I can press it over and over, to no effect... then all of the sudden, it will start dialing.
My first sim is TMO, and the second is AT&T. I am still on 5.0.3 and have been ignoring the 5.0.4 update, since I'm worried about losing TWRP and magisk and don't feel like farting around with it right now. If I knew it would fix the problem, I might be a little more motivated to do so, but it only seems to fix an incoming call sound issue (not quite the same as what I'm experiencing... but maybe related?).
I went ahead and updated to 5.0.4, hoping it would help, but it didn't. I've noticed that if I press power to turn off the screen/mute the ringer, then turn it back on, I can get to the full dialer screen and accept/reject the call. Also, this freeze is easy to reproduce from the dialer log. If I browse for a sent/received call from earlier in the day and tap that, it won't bring up the sim card choice (TMO or ATT) until after 30 seconds or so.
If anyone has seen this issue, please chime in. I'm at my wit's end.
I have some issues with incoming calls. Sometimes it vibrates but doesn't show any incoming call only when I have missed it afterwards. I don't know what causes this behaviour and if it is related to your issue. I'll switch from OxygenOS 5.0.4 to LineageOS 15.1 soon so I didn't look into that and I'm not going to
I'm not sure, but it definitely seems to have something to do with the dialer itself. My guess is because I'm using two sims. When dialing a call, it's almost as if the box to select a sim to dial pops up behind the dialer....
Try wiping dialer cache then reboot, go to recovery and wipe cache/dalvik and see if it helps. btw, I find no difficulty in answering phone call.

Pretty sure I tried that, but not since the latest update. I'll give it another shot!
