Hello all,
Has anybody else had problems with SM-T210/SM-T211 lagging when you have bought it?
My friend who has SM-T211 showed me that his device lags like crazy when it was not running an custom ROM. Mine was lagging too. The fix was to install 3rd party firmware, but that voids the warrently, but oh,well.
I'll attach an poll to this about it.
Please leave feedback so I know how many people have had that problem on these devices. (Samsung Tab 3 7.0 WiFi & GSM versions)
P.S Mine SM-T210 is ROOTED and running RocketTab ROM with custom kernel.
Yeah I had a lag but I flashed rockettab 3 by tempdroid and it's smooth now but I would like to know what you did

Hello, i have the tab 3 7.0". I face the same issue here. What's the best firmware out there? I'm a new user on this device and i dont know much about tablet ROMs. This rockettab 3 by tempdroid is it good enough? Should i try to install it?
thanks in advance guys!!!
For the people that experience lags...
If you use an external_sd lower that class 10 the device will lag like hell.
You can check it by runing the tab without an sd card.

Out of the box, rooted but mostly unchanged, with the Play store open in Chrome...yeah, laggier than it should be.
Deleting bloatware, downloading a startup manager, unchecking Power Saver stuff, turning off sync and updates, replacing the TouchWiz launcer with Nova, and using Dolphin instead of Chrome goes a long way. You don't have to outright flash a custom ROM (although it could be the easiest way to go especially if you don't want to get in depth at all).
i find that the stock firmware is always running to much stuff, the ram is usually at 80%+
The ram usage of a stock frimware is hight because if it's bloatware apps, flashing rockettab 3.1 was the only thing I did that made me proud

Custom ROM is simply slightly or much tweaked Stock ROM. It can contain themes or new functionality, added or removed apps etc. Most of the Custom Touchiz ROMs are pretty similar to stock ROMs and have added bits and pieces that most people would add anyway - like Xposed framework and some Xposed modules, etc, sound enhancements, Note 3 software but still look much like Stock Samsung ROM.
After 4.1.2 I flashed Criskelo (Custom TW ROM) and it is smoother than 4.1.2. I am very satisfied with this ROM, and can't understand why so many people complain about 4.3. IMHO this is the single BEST update on android I had on any device ever. 1st time I can really tell it is smoother than the previous version.
I strongly reccomend updating to 4.3, just follow all instructions and you should be fine. IMHO best ROMs are DN3, Phoenix and Criskelo. You can also try pre-rooted de-Knoxed stock ROMs, but you would loose any of the extras in these ROMs (Note 3 sw etc).
Really thanks for response ... but many says battery drains fast and fast after 4.3 update
And ram consumption very high
Could you clarify this for me and I would be thankful

Battery for me is the same as on 4.1.2. Maybe on 1st boot it is higher because if you erase everything it has to run media scanner for a long time to scan all your photos. But for me it is the same.
Don't worry about RAM consumption. I can't get it why people want to have EMPTY RAM??? What good is empty RAM, just doing nothing? If it uses more RAM, it means it is using it for something, probably caching disk, processes, apps.... Everything works just fine, Android manages RAM by itself. If it all works fine, why should I care how much RAM there is? Also it depends on your apps more than anything. I have like 290 USER apps, together with system apps it is like 510. And NEVER have I noticed any problems... so just forget about RAM, Android manages everything automatically, and our device has a lots of RAM. Even with TSF shell running which is huge, all is fluid and no apps have problems.

If you flash ROM from Sammobile, you will be Knox-locked. You will have Knox and you can never again downgrade to 4.1.2. And if you root, you will loose your warranty and will never be able to use Knox again. Knox is preventing you from flashing anything without triggering Knox counter to 0x1.
If you do flash UAE ROM from Sam mobile, you don't have to flash anything else, bootloader and modem are included.
But I'd suggest flashing de-Knoxed ROM, so you can later (if you want) install any custom ROM, downgrade, etc.
If you want custom ROMs, I'd suggest Phoenix, DM3 or Criskelo.

Thanks a lot dear

Hi guys , how u all doing ?
I got a Tab 3 T-211 (Indian Model)
got a couple of questions here, please spare some time. I have gone through the forum for Tab 3 & read most of the threads, but i still got some questions for the same.
You see its my first tab, & if i brick it, there wont be another for a while.
SO HELP PLEASE !!
Q1 : Best way of rooting this device ? & How to unroot if needed ?
- Best way to back up my game files( injustice & all) & data.
- can i back up to pc ?
Q2 : Best rom for it ?
- Want to do gaming, so want something light & stable. No or least bloatware.
- I know this is not the best device for gaming.
Q3 : is it worth it ?
- Will it make it faster for gaming ?
- Like iron man 3, man it lags like anything
Q4 : How to get into root & rom programming & development ?
- Very interested, plus these days i have some spare time.
Thanks for your time & patience.
Cheers
Look through the forums half a dozen threads dealing with T211
I have a question about USB Otg. Is there a custom rom or a kernel that can enable this feature in t211?
Hi guys just wanted to infom , that i rooted my device (Galaxy TAB T211 ) with Kingo android root.
worked like a charm.
plus it also has a function to unroot the device as well.
well basically wanted to let u know that TAB T211 is also compatible with this software.
Now on to roms.
BTW can anyone make a suggestion for a good rom, should be lightweight & gaming oriented.
Cheers
Hi guys...
Could you please tell us the Kingo address for rooting?
For new rom, I have not idea, let's waiting for CM, especially CM11...

I am fed up with the lag issue in this GRAND duos. tried all these methods
(1) reverting back to amf7
(2) flashing bna4
(3) flashing ubmk3
(4) disbaled stock gallery app
(5) disabled as many as possible official apps....
All the solutions proved to be just temporary. After 24 hours to 4 days it starts lagging again. Now I am sick of flashing firmwares.
My phone is under warranty up to 19 April. If I go to service center and ask for replacement of motherboard/phone, will they replace just on the complain "my this phone hangs a lot. I have googled and found that many users have flashed other firmwares yet phones lag. These users say that this problem has no solution but replacement of motherboard?" (I cannot tell them that I have flashed other firmwares myself).
If any user with same problem has flashed custom ROM, please share your experience.
Bro, though I've never flashed a custom rom on my grand , but my Grand is rooted and I've flashed a lot of mods on it , but my Grand never lags . It is very fast and buttery smooth . I want to ask you that wether you directly started flashing custom roms on your galaxy grand or in the beginning you just rooted and flashed some mods like me ?
@MohdGhufran
From what date is your last stock ROM?
I'm having the same problem. But I've used the CM11 on another occasion and did not face any problem. Then I went back to Stock and updated the same last week.
The phone was very bad (lag). So I returned to the CM11, but the lag continues.
I'll try an earlier stock and after the CM11.
I'll post the result here.
(Sorry for my English by Google)
@Mohdgufran - I agree... I m running umbmk1 ... after 3 to 4 days with out restart the phone starts to lag...
The only solution temporarily is to clear the ram in task manager...
Stay wid 4.2.2 and use a ram cleaner (it sucks a bit battery but its the only possible non technical solution)

I think u need a reverse gear.. First back to 4.1 version then flash with 4.2 November month version then use cm 11 custom rom.. Its fast.. Gud battery back up.. No lag.. And all with dual sim.. I hope this will work for u..
Try greenify and the cleaner both are small apps (around 1 mb) and it will speed up your phone .....

it is not like that stock ROMs are not good. It is just a problem with Galaxy Grand Duos. I had rooted my Galaxy R and Galaxy S Advance and had flashed Custom ROMs. All the custom ROMs had some limitations / missing features (like USB PC connection, wifi tethering, USB tethering, etc). This is why I do not want to flash any custom ROM on Galaxy Grand.

Hello friends, a newbie is speaking, but he learns quick,
I have flashed and using P601 ROMs on my P602 for Turkey here. But which I use both P602 rom or P601 rom my device uses too much ram and always laggy. Ram usage is always over %65 up to %90. Once or twice a day my device freezes and I need to power off by holding power button. How can I fix it? Thanks so much for your replies.
Note, I am using Hydronium ROM over the kernel of xKat v2.0 .

You should considering re installing the firmware which specifically matches your model. And ram usage is normal as far I know coz ram is there to be utilized. Free ram is a waisted ram. My note 3 and 10.1 always use more than 80% ram however I have never experienced freezing.
Thanks for your reply. I use my tablet as a phone so I must use p601 rom, already when ı was using original rom nothing was different. Thanks anyway
I'm pretty new to all of this and still a bit tentative. I have searched quite a bit and learned a lot but I still generally feel overwhelmed when I try to read threads specific to certain ROMS.
I recently got a Tab 3.7 (SM-T210R) and have managed to root it and install PhilzTouch.
I also installed RocketTab Lite which was good but I realise what I want is all the Samsung stuff gone, so it feels more like a simple android device.
So, I'm trying to figure out what ROM would suit me best.
Also, it is only 8GB and even with almost no apps (or media) it seems to be almost a third full. So far I haven't got Link2SD to work. Will another ROM allow me to move apps to the SD like I could in my phone?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

CAGrom is made only for the Tab 3 10. You can find roms for the 7 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-7
I don't know anything about the roms for that device. though, XDA generally prohibits suggestions as it is all about experiencing and experimenting finding the right fit that you want. I suggest looking at the roms at the link above and see if any might interest you there. good luck.
