Cm 11 stable? - LG Optimus G Pro

Hello there
I have cm 10.2. I really like the cm 11, but i dont want to install it, because it's nighlty. Does anyone know when cm11 get stable?
Thank you in advance

I flashed the nightly some weeks ago and it was good enough for me to use it.
I'm using BeanStalk (4.4.2) at the moment as my daily driver.

Been using the official CM11 as a daily driver for over a month now. I flash the new nightly every day. It's stable and runs just fine.

apart from a few missing features, CM11 nightlies are great, nothing broken, no crashes. Battery life is better than 10.2. you should give it a try

Battery is waaaay better than 10.2

+1 for Beanstalk. No complaint so far.

I don't mean to thread hijack, but any thoughts on beanstalk vs cm11? These seem to be two of the most stable roms these days.

on my E988, apart from CM11, magnetic compass is not working on other KitKat roms (Beanstalk, SlimKat etc).
and battery drains a lot faster in Beanstalk. drains about 4% per hour on standby. in CM11, the stand-by drain is just about 1% per hour. That's the difference.

I do OTA from 10.2 and also OTA all the nightlies. no wipe at all. coz this phone is my daily driver and I don't want to backup/ restore my data every day.

The battery life on here is top notch from what I've seen on 4.4 ROMs. If you want the best battery life, the MIUI producer edition over in the general section has the best battery life I've seen on this device with it's custom kernel.
CM11 performs very very well. Every days tasks like calls, texts, lite games, web browsing, etc etc are buttery smooth at 1.2GHz which is what I use to further improve the battery life.
On another note, if you're REALLY worried about battery life, there is a thread on the 9300mAh Zero Lemon battery. I've got one and and MORE than happy with it. No matter what ROM I use, my battery life is phenomenal. Comes with a black or white TPU case.

CyanogenMod 10 Galaxy Nexus Nightlies? Performance?

Hey guys, an xda n00b here,
I really want CyanogenMod 10 for my Nexus, (not asking for ETA), but I don't have time to keep up with instabilities, etc. Does flashing the nightly every day take time? Or is it really easy?
How is the performance and battery life of CM10 over stock?
Yep, that's basically it.
Thanks in advance
-Sahil
The CM team focuses on stability.
If an average user wants a Rom to flash literally once and never have to flash again...I'd flash CM10.
You'll end up with very very few bugs.
As far as installing, check post 2 of the guide linked in my sig if this process is new to you.
And updating nightlies doesn't take much time, no.
The general custom if you're already on a CM nightly would be to download/flash/wipe cache. Users generally don't wipe data often with the CM nightlies...but it's a good idea to do it occasionally, at least.
CM 10 is not stable yet. If I were you I would stick with stock rom until CM10 gets stable version or at least RC version.
Personally, I'm using AOKP JB Build 1 and franco.Kernel Milestone 5. It's stable, fast, great battery life and it's my daily driver now.

So even if its not stable yet, you think I should flash it?
As of 24-8 its stable, don't know what issues that guy having but I'm using it and it works just fine. Just remember to clean wipe the first time you flash cm10.
Also don't have to flash daily, I do it weekly or when major update is done. I check change log to see what has been updated weekly.

Nightly builds are daily compiled builds from source. This version therefore has the latest bleeding edge features & tweaks, but it is also the mostly likely to have bugs and issues. This version is not for general use.

Hi there.
Just to let you know that I went from the Foxhound ROM over to CM10 (build from the 24th) and I tell you how good this ROM is.. no stability issues so far.
3g, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc all seems to be working well.
Just testing the battery life at the moment and switch the performance to On Demand (preference). Also not laggy like the previous ROM with scrolling, unlock and typing. Screen transitions seems quick.. All that with the CPU running at stock 1.2ghz (old ROM = 1.35).
Cheers.

CM 10 is the best that happened to my nexus
Question for everyone: Where can I find the changelog of CM10 for Galaxy Nexus Nightlies?
Just last week I installed the CM 10 nightlies on my GSM nexus and to my surprise its extremely stable. I haven't seen it crash even once and now I'm hooked on updating it daily (won't recommend to everyone). But the nightlies are very stable, daily updated.
Compared to the stock ROM CM 10 adds so many features that I wanted. Things like having Reboot, Screenshot in the power options. Having power buttons in the drop down menu (WiFi, GPS, syncing etc. instead of only on the home screen), adding app shortcuts to screen lock etc.
Overall its way better than the stock rom but doesn't make you go away from what you're used to. Jelly Bean is fast and awesome.
Good luck,
Nitin

Battery drain on 4.2.2 Roms

Hey guys, I have a terrible problem here. The problem is that I got tired of Sense and I love stock android 4.2 and I just cannot use roms built on that android version because the battery drain is humongous. Using my phone just to check twitter and facebook and it goes down in 3 hours. I tried Cyannogen Mod and I'm now on Icecoldjelly both with Xm kernel and it is always the same. This is terribly annoying because the roms are perfect and so is the phone, except for that battery. Does anybody recommend I do something, are there some mods/tweaks to increase battery life? Is I cleared battery stats and performed more than 3 charge cycles, in case you ask. Thank you, hope you can help me

haha! and I thought I was the only one... I see people who are getting 15-18 hours on ICJ...
I also get terribly low battery backup... even though battery is calibrated.. Sync off... Auto Brightness.. etc etc...
However, on sense roms I get great battery!

I would suggest a faulty battery, I use mine for twit and fb too and a whole load of other stuff but i get a lot more than 3 hours. I am on slimbean 4.2 now but I have tried cyanogen 10.1 and icj, both of which gave me similar battery life to slim, although neither of them could equal slimbean they were not as bad as you are experiencing

The reply wasn't intended to get you to try slim, only to show that not all 4.2 roms are as heavy on battery. there are plenty of others to try, I just prefer slim

I'd say thats about normal, but the op's 3 hours is seriously wrong. I would have to use navigation, music, facebook, twitter and XDA all at the same time to run my battery down that fast
With minimal usage I got around 5/6 hours. I'm going to try other roms and settings to see if I get this right. I'm currently on slim. I'll see how it performs tomorrow. If it goes bad then wth, I'll just go back to a Sense rom
Disable auto sync/fb location... use trickster mod and set governor to smartmax and IO scheduler to row/sio...
Cap the max frequency to 1.2 GHz... Use greenify to hibernate apps which you don;t need..
There is absolutely no lag for me... When I want to play some games I just switch to interactive or gaming governor!
Thanks everybody, I found my daily driver, today I got 13 hours with regular usage and still 25% to go, slimbean is the best. Even if it was not a recommendation to test the rom, it helped a lot

Stable setup for my S3 (d2att)

For almost two months now I've been running my S3 on a CM nightly + leanKernel stable with great results!
I leave the clock speeds at default, and with Trickster MOD in Governor control i adjust InteractiveX screen_off_maxfreq to 594,000 and Multicore Power Saving to 1. I usually always flash different setups for different phones.. I go through about 5-8 androids a year, however ive kept this S3 longer than I usually keep phones and this setup has been DELIGHTFUL to me!
Just though I'd share this.

Yes it's in the regular development section, not original. Try the 1.9 ROM and latest kernel its far superior to the nightlies on my experience.

Absolutely try out Quantum, its like CM 10.2 on steroids and it gets updated every 2-3 days and gets much better battery life than the official CM nightlies. Quantum's only for d2att, so the developer has really awesome support and puts a lot of hard work into the rom.

If OP does flash Quantum, the newer kernels are a must have unless you run into stability issues. (Kind of rare, but still plausible.)
Quantum is a great ROM, and has a super kernel!
Just make sure that if you flash it, disable MP-Decision using an app like Trickster MOD... you need to read through some pages I believe to figure out that you actually have to - so just so you know

I think it's a great ROM however after flashing it I get reboots at least every 10 minutes and I'm not sure what's the cause of the instability because I updated the firmware to I747UCUEMJ2 and I also updated to the newest version of CWM...

Should I stick with 4.3 or move on to 4.4?

Hey there, I'm currently running the Cataclysm ROM on my Galaxy Nexus, and I'm super happy with it. But I was thinking of moving to CM 11 (not sure if official or unofficial).

You pretty much nailed it on the head. The more you do the worse battery is. Its that simple. Battery life isnt the same for everyone since everyone uses their phones differently.
imho Android 4.4 is the best update since 4.0.
The new RAM management is awesome and makes my GNexus run like on the first day
CM11 is pretty stable, too.
It's too bad that many developers leaving the GNexus and move on, because I'm still missing some features (like HOLO, Active Display, ...)
And it's a shame that Google isn't updating the stock rom, because like I said, the GNexus is running way better with 4.4 than it was with 4.3.
I made a change to 4.4.2 CM11 and it is really awesome! Transition is very simple compared to HTC Sensation. It works great !

[Q] Best 4.4.x ROM?

I was running STS MK4 1.2 and loved it, but I figured it was time to take the plunge to 4.4. After some researching, I settled on the Carbon (CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140612-0804-l900.zip) ROM, but in the first few hours of using it today, I had 3 lockups (that required a battery pull) and a few apps that consistently force closed on me until I rebooted (the native Google Keyboard and Chrome). I did, however, LOVE all of the features in the Carbon ROM.
That being said, I really want the best battery possible and the more customize-able features, the better. Suggestions, thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Try paranoid android, you won't regret it. The only thing is asop annoying volume issue which has a simple remedy, other than that zero issues.
