So I decided to root my HTC One X for the first time and install a custom ROM. I had unlocked the bootloader and added clockworkmod recovery, I had also created a back up. When I went to install Android Revolution HD I watched the video it provided and did everything exactly but what it didn't show was that I had to install the rom's zip file into my internal SD card before flashing the ROM and now it is stuck in a bootloop. I tried to fix it by clearing cashes, restoring, etc but now when I try to enter recovery through bootloader the phone just shuts off after it shows the splash screen. I was wondering if anyone would know how to excess the recovery through another means, I also tried used the "adb fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" but it says device not found.

Please make sure if ur phone is EndeavorU or Evita...
and reply.
You mean you have a telsus AT&T variant phone. Codename EVITA ? check your bootloader and what it says there. Entering the recovery should be fixed with
Fastboot erase cache
And don't put ADB in front. That's the wrong command.
And if you have the evita you are in the wrong forum. If that's the case you have to flash roms and recoverys from the HTC one XL forum !
I just remembered that Telus HOX is HOXL,
Here where u should search for ur ROMs and Recoveries:

I do have the evita but it said HTC One X on their site and when I checked the system information before I rooted it, I guess that might be why the ROM never worked. The main problem I have is that when I go into bootloader and select recovery the phone just shuts off so I can't access the recovery.
Well this is not the place to continue. Go to the xl forum and download a recovery from a link they provide there and try and continue the issues there
Cheers and good luck

Seems I'm in the wrong forum section, I have a Dual Core processor.
So I managed to unlock bootloader through htcdev.com, managed to root it with OneXRootOneClick and also managed to get Clockwork Mod Recovery.
However, as I followed these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603
As I tried to install Android Revolution HD 9.7.0, through clockwork mod recovery, a few moments after it starts installing, the application seems to crash when it reaches this directory: system/lib/libssl.so. I then return to the main menu of the clock mod recovery.
At the moment, I cannot normally boot my phone. Either I open it in bootloader, either it stays stuck on HTC logo with the following message: this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside htc with out htc write permission failure to comply my lead to legal action.
Any help/assistance is appreciated.
Use fastboot to flash a different recovery, I recommend TWRP, flash using fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
Then boot into the new recovery and try flashing the rom
Also make sure that your download isn't corrupt by checking its md5 value. Redownload the rom just to be safe.

Let me guess,
You have a dual core S4 ONE X and flashed ARHD which is for quad core tegra 3.....
Yeah?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
not bricked (as far as you can access the bootloader),
EDIT:try flashing the boot.img(kernel) using the fastboot method step 5 below, if your phone is S-ON recovery will not be able to flash boot.img even though it shows as successful
make sure you identify your phone as Quadcore(tegra 3 processor) or dual core(S4 processor) then read this if its the quadcore, or go to this forum if you're Dual-core.
I'm not familiar with differences between tweaking steps of S4 and T3 devices, but if you're sure its an International T3 One-X you can follow the following:
1-Return your phone to its original state. (using an RUU flasher if neccessary)
2-Read the tutorials' steps properly.
3-After reading all the steps, root and install a custom recovery( i used this tool its easy and quick)
4-Download the Custom rom(arhd) and install it (you will most likely get bootloop if you start phone before next step but its fine)
5-extract the boot.img(kernel) from the rom.zip file and flash it using fastboot mode and wipe the cache in the bootloader (arhd supplies a tool that does this, flash_boot_9.X.X.zip)
6-Wipe cache and dalvik and reset battery stats(advised if phone is fully charged)
Hope i helped.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct version and flashed it properly? Explain in detail the steps you took
Hey Guys, I recently saw the jelly bean update on a youtube video and I tried doing the same thing on my phone, which didn't work very well.
The video was very detailed and explained everything. I did the whole rooting thing and flashing thing. And the last step which involves unzipping the
cm10 zip file or something, when I did that, the phone said installation aborted. I freaked out didn't know what to do and I pressed factory reset.
Now I think my old and new both systems are removed from the phone. When I turn my phone on, It shows the HTC quality brilliant logo stays
there for few seconds and restarts again to the same HTC screen.
I gave the phone to a guy who said he'll try to fix but couldn't. If you guys have any idea please let me know how to fix it. Recently bought the phone
and don't wanna lose it over stupid update.
Thank you!

Make sure you have clockworkmod 5.8.4.0 or newer, if not, flash it:
fastboot flash recovery cwm-5.8.4.0.img
Then get the boot.img for the ROM you want to install and flash it:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
Then, from recovery, go to mounts and storage and mount as USB. Copy the ROM you want to flash to the drive, unmount and then wipe the cache/dalvik cache and then flash the ROM from recovery.
If you get any errors, post them here.

Hey, Thanks for replying.
From recovery, I checked the clockworkMod Recovery version is 5.8.3.1. So it's old.
Now the thing is, Since I did factory reset and data wipe from the options, the zip files I added before, I can't access them.
And I don't know now how to attach my phone to computer so I can transfer those files.
Please let me know how to flash it, if you have any link to step by step procedure that would be great.
I am attaching few images that I am getting right now.
Also, when I press mount Usb from recovery mode, unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory).
Your recovery version has usb mounting problems. Upgrade to 5.8.4.0 and you will be able to mount.

Obviously from a command line, with fastboot in your path, and with the recovery downloaded, etc.
Guys look at his bootloader screen, it says EVITA - AKA DUAL CORE VERSION of the One X. @OP, you cannot install international ROMs on your version of the HTC One X. You're extremely lucky installation was aborted because if it proceeded, it could have hard bricked your device.
What I suggest you do is try flash another custom ROM that's meant for the evita or flash a RUU to return to stock

Honestly, I have no idea how to flash a RUU or find a custom ROM for evita. I'm going to give it to another guy who repairs phones. Hopefully he'll do it. If not, I'll post here again. If you could please post a link that explains how to flash a RUU that would be great.

You need to go into the other forum for your model, try a search.
The way you flash a ruu is enter the mode you are in the pictures, then click fastboot, plug it into your computer after the ruu has downloaded. A ruu is a Rom update utility, it just flashes it all to stock.
It's a program you download onto your computer its an .exe if you're on windows then run it through and it will allow your phone to boot like its brand new.
Baring in mind all personal data will be lost.. but least your phone works.
Also I think if your bootloader is unlocked you need to relock it to run s ruu (I think)
Or you could just flash a Rom from your One X forum by following the instructions keep us updated.

Just go to the One XL forum and search there. You're not the first person to end up in the wrong forum.
Flashing an RUU requires plugging the phone into PC, locking the bootloader and double clicking.

Heyy, I went to the professional who fixes it and he is like I don't have the files so I can't fix it..
So unfortunately I have to do it by my self.
Now, thanks to you, I have searched as you told me and I found the RUU for my carrier which is rogers.
I have found a video that shows how to do it step by step to take it back to ICS. The only problem is that the RUU I found is a zip file, and when I extract it, there are lots of Img files.
But the video shows the RUU as an .exe file. Now I don't know what to do with the zip file.
Please let me know what should I do next. If I could find the .exe file I would have done everything according to the video but I couldn't.
Thanks!
...your phone is different to ours. You'll get the best advice in your own forum.
Hey there,
So I've been messing with my One X for a few days trying to eventually install Android Revolution HD. I did successfully root it and unlock it, then I messed with the recovery image a bit (I don't remember exactly the sequence of events here), and now I'm stuck. When I select "RECOVERY" from the HBOOT screen, I get a bootloop. When my phone tries to self-update, it reboots into a bootloop. When I try to flash it back to stock to start over, either the phone is not recognized, or the flash fails in some other way. Other than that, my phone works just fine; I'm just not able to flash any new mods or update or use ClockworkMod or do any of those things. How can I get unstuck? What would a factory reset do?
So your bootloader is unlocked ....
Flash the custom recovery again :
Fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
After that :
Fastboot erase cache
Hope this helps getting in recovery.
What does your cmd prompt say after fastboot flash ... it will give you a fail or succes prompt !
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X
Maybe the problem is this: There is no official ClockworkMod recovery for the AT&T HTC One X. I must have installed a bad one.
What recovery image should I use for the AT&T One X?
Edit: Oh, apparently there's a separate forum for the AT&T One X. Disregard this, I'll ask over there.
I used this guide to root and install clockwork recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592355
after following the instructions, I rebooted my phone and selected recovery. However all I see is an HTC screen that says this ROM is for development purposes only yada yada yada. I have tried re-flashing clockwork a few times and it still always does this when I select recovery. Can anybody help?
I flashed the attached clockworkmod recovery yesterday without issue.
Unzip the attached archive and put the recovery.img in your fastboot folder, then "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
does say your phone security warning or so in fastboot?
STOP!
Does your bootloader say EVITA or ENDEAVORU?
What was the outcome of this? Did you get it going?

Is this a HTC One X or a HTC Desire?
Regardless which device is it, you need a unlocked bootloader to flash the recovery.
I recommend that you charge your phone till 100%
Than head over to htcdev.com and follow the instructions on unlocking the bootloader
Than flash the recovery image in fastboot using: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (or just drag the specific recovery into cmd)
Than transfer the rom that you want to use and flash it after doing a full wipe
Head back into bootloader and flash the boot.img (kernel) with; fastboot flash boot boot.img
Than reboot and voila!
It's a hox....you see the endevouru in the bootloader screen !
Use a ruu to go back to a working phone. Easy because you have an S-OFF device !
