FoxFi Won't connect to laptop help

It turns on and everything my laptop sees it but fails to connect every time. Are there any alternatives without root?

Nor do I, but it is the cheapest way I've found to tether over wifi while unrooted. You can try the free Lite version, it's enough for testing.

Haha yeah I got it yesterday and HAD to test that. Wifi off it worked flawlessly

Thanks. I've just returned the 8.4 pro because of random reboots. Can anyone tell me if the wifi cuts out when you hold it in the corner. I'm hoping they've moved the receiver in this model.

No. Note 7 is USB type C. Note 4 is micro usb. It's possible a cable comes out later to make such a connection, but out of the gate there is no such animal.
You could use miracast or chromecast, though. Both support p2p Wi-Fi.

Nice! Thank you! I saw a Samsung one at best buy today with micro usb on sale for like $31 USD. I might just get that one and use the adapter
