XDA Site constant advert SPAM - About xda-developers.com

Can anyone ahead some light on the constant spam of adverts and pop-ups i get when visiting the xda site on my phone? I can't browse xda anymore with my phone as a pop-up appears every 10 seconds redirecting me to a damn download link as my device has a supposed virus. Not only do you get pop-ups and redirects, but the site starts downloading "mobilegenie.apk" without my permission. How is all this shi!t allowed? Someone explain please, it is really annoying me I am now forced to use adblock just to view a few forum pages.
PS: i know tapatalk exits, i use it more than anything....but the times i need to view xda in the browser, i simply can't....on ANY rom.

Hello.
How can I contact a right moderator?
I would like to occasionally post a few Appz / Games with download link.
Of course, only if it is extremely good programs and is freeware.
I've seen that were left in this forum posted by me.
Would like to set these things in the future itself.
When I try to set something comes a message
me that a moderator must be enabled.
I post no spam
Best regards

[Q] Subscribed Threads/Forums

Here is my problem, I use the xda app. My Subscribed Threads show up on both the website and on the app. But my Subscribed Forums only show up on the website and not on the app. Nothing major, just thought I might get an answer.
Try subscribing in app by favouriting them.
Mine are ok here

Spammy ads?

I keep getting this popup tab in Firefox when on XDA saying "Please update Flash player." Obviously comes from this site because I don't get it when not browsing XDA. Malware scan shows my PC as clean.
Post here with a screenshot of it and os details browser version etc

1. How can I remove the posting limit, whenever I try to post it says try again in 5 minutes? Is this a temporary limit?
2. The XDA app frezes after every 5-10 minutes and then it force closes. I reinstalled it but that didn't work.
Sorry guys I don't know where to post such topics.
Please help staff.

To contact XDA staff, you don't need to make a post but just move your mouse and point to the list of moderators on top of every forum header to PM them directly also this can be done by clicking the orange triangle on every post title header on your right corner.
2) To understand posting limit , read this
5 minute restrictions, is due to some people who register on web sites ( any web site including XDA) just to advertise their product, sex trade or call girls services) they normally use bots ( spam bots, which automates their spamming) so you can have numerous threads created by a spammer in a forum or many forums within five minutes, and to try and stop them will be fruitless as they just joined to do it (spam) and quit the forum. They will register again once banned using another name and do it again, so imagine the life of moderator deleting the spam, can be hell indeeed, when this restriction is not practiced, although it will affect legitimate junior members, it cannot be helped till you are a member ( meaning proven as a credible person and valuable member of this community after the initial 10 posts)
3) regarding XDA app you need to post here read or search that thread before posting , might help you understand ho many times such issues had been reported or resolved.

Thank you so much for your reply sir.

Removing threads?

Is there a way to remove threads from the participated list on the mobile app?
Slapped the sh*t out of my X
if you found me to be helpful, throw me a thumbs up.
Not at this time.

As mentioned above, it's not possible to do so at the moment.
The best way to choose which threads appear is to automatically subscribe to any thread you post in. You can set it to no notifications anyway so at least you won't get bombarded with emails. Then, if you no longer need a thread to be displayed, you can simply unsubscribe from the thread.
This method also helps when the search function goes offline as you'll still have access to all subscribed threads
