Does it really matter? Is one better than the other? Can I just flash supersu over super user?

They both provide root management.
But some things have not worked correctly with superuser but have worked with SuperSu. Such as ViPER4Android driver install.
You can just install SuperSu app through the play.store and set it to preserve itself through nightly ROM flashes.
Nandroid Manager root requires SuperSU

I don't think there is since you have to flash a zip file to actually root your system but you can always go back and install your stock recovery after your rooted

You can with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963812, but you won't be able to install any ROMs.
Thanks will look into it

Yes that link will work although i dont think there is a cspire version so youll have to use sprints. That said this will do what your asking as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2017470
I've tried millions of time to install super user.. But it keeps telling me error when it tries to update... Is it the mdl build or something else

If you're running stock, MDL blocks root access. Flash any of the custom kernels to get around the restriction and try updating again.
Thank you so much... I was wondering why it didn't work..... Yeah I was running a stock rom but now I'm using infamous S4 build

I need help. I also tried installing the supersu zip from galaxys4root.com and I am not getting root access. I am still on the stock system and do not plan on switching rom. I have twrp running well but im stuck there.

If you are on TWRP you are not still on stock recovery which should mean that you can install SuperSU from within TWRP.

How do I update the superuser binary if superuser was built into the ROM/settings? I've tried supersu and cwm superuser but they both end up replacing the build in superuser when it comes to allowing/denying permissions.

All u need to do is DL superSU from play store open it, it'll ask to update binary, press OK, give it su access, it'll prob go out of app, just re-open the app and it'll ask again to update binaries, press OK and follow instructions, phone will reboot and do it all for u, if u need help I'll make a vid

U may not think it does because is so fast but it should boot to recovery, run a quick script and reboot the phone all in like 6sec
