[Q] JB 4.3 always blocking SU and other root tools on device

hi there, i'm sorry about this thread i open
i need help, how to root JB 4.3 on N7105 without any blocking from that ROM?
coz all root tools on device automatically blocking by the software.

I used FC_Auto_root from chainfire. It worked eventually when he updated the app SuperSU. I could then disable Knox and now I have root access.
Be aware that you will probably get "KNOX WARRANTY VOID 1" when you flash FC Auto Root.

yes, when i flashing back to stock, in the download mode i saw knox warranty void 1, so how is the save way to root JB 4.3 ?

I don't know if there is a safe way. And if you have the Knox Warranty Void triggered, there is no way to untrigger it, as far as I know. Maybe it will be possible when the clever people have had some more time working on it. Unless it's an eFuse, as many people believe...
Anyway, when I first rooted the phone and started it, SuperSU was constantly being closed by Knox. But after chainfire updated SuperSU to 1.80 I was able to update it from Google Play and start it. It told me that it had detected Knox and asked me if I wanted to disable it, which I wanted. I can't find any settings in the app that says anything about Knox.

the first time is ok but after i stuck in stupid "Firmware upgrade .. ... connect to Kies and try again", i flashed again 4.3 and the SU doesn't work. Anyone can help me?

i flashed the new 4.3 onto my device, and then tried to reroot it, cause of course it will erase the root, and now samsungs or androids security wont allow me root access. How do i get around this?

you can use kingapp to root.its simple and easy t detects your model for you. http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root/download.htm
I have used this and had no issues u can also unroot with it as well

I'm in the same boat... kingoapps failed 3 times.

I rooted mine with cf root then updated super user and it disabled knox so far so good hope this helps

I used Odin and cf auto root as well. It goes through the paces successfully but I'm unable to get a custom recovery or use super su. Apps that require root don't work.
It's gotta be this new security.

If you just rooted the latest 4.3 then you can bet they are patching the bootloaders...preventing you from gaining root...
DeLaVega root is patched, and I would not be surprised if CF is as well...
It's a cat/mouse game with Sammy this week as we fight to get a working root...
Sammy means it this time around, and You may want to check your bootloader to see if they gave you a 0x1 KNOX flag for your trouble....and I'll bet they did...
Sadly it's an efuse...and cannot be removed....ever...so all 0x1 warranties are void, and as of today no bootloader downgrades are possible by any current means...

I don't wont to trip any counters...

kingo would be the easiest way. install the program on your computer, connect your device, click a couple times, let it do its thing and you'll have instant root. nothing else changes and nothing is lost. there was some bad feedback about the app but its been cleared up since then.

Seconded. It probably won't even trigger your Knox flag (I have rooted several times with Kingo and my Knox flag is still 0x0)

Why would we not want to trigger that, does that make Knox useless? Reason I ask is because I do use this phone for work with an exchange account and have been curious about this. If I use Knox to just try it out will that screw anything up?

I tripped knox and never looked back I guess I'll figure out what I can do when my jump comes up

Tripping KNOX may make the phone incompatible with certain enterprise scenarios. Using kingo wont trip the counter so it shouldnt matter in your case.

There is one person claiming Kingo tripped his Knox flag despite MI7, so unless we figure exactly why, I would be careful and maybe wait a little.

I don't know about that other person, but I had the same issue, I'm still on MI7, I used Kingo to rood my Note 3, everything was fine until it asked me to install an app called MtkCamera, which I declined, then Kingo kind of frozed and then it restarted. When I checked the Knox counter it was tripped ...so, I would suggest caution with this.

Well, first of all I would ask why do you want to root to begin with and secondly is that reason more important than using it for work. At least In theory Knox was developed for people like you, who have one phone for work and personal use, by providing secure environment for sensitive data. Even if your job doesn't use Knox yet, they may in the future. If I was doing banking or CC transactions on my phone I would seriously consider Knox as well, albeit I have no idea if it would actually serve it's purpose well. If you just test Knox you would need to download some extra software from Samsung, Samsung is aware of security holes and already patched them in the latest bootloaders, so Knox flag will trip when rooting for sure, so I wouldn't be surprised if those security updates wouldn't be the first downloaded as part of Knox suite, when installing it. So here I would speculate, since I have not tried it myself, that you should either root and take your chances, or use Knox and forget about rooting. I wonder if PTJunkie didn't play with Knox, or somehow manage to get Samsung security update, to get his flag tripped, where others didn't. I actually disabled updates to make sure I don't get any new enhancements from T-mo or Samsung.

I have 2 quick questions:
1. root delavega uses att rom, att phones don't have wifi calling, is wifi calling still working as usual on rooted, t-mo phones? or in general Is there anything T-mo specific that breaks after root?
2. I assume bringing the phone back to original would require reflashing original T-mo ROMS? Anything else needs to be flashed?

I haven't flashed back to tmobile stock yet. I still have wifi calling and I make sure to disable my tmobile account because they can tell if you are rooted.

Yeah, when you run that system check, but what can they do? Even if they cared, I'm not sure if they do, if your phone is stock with no flags tripped, I would argue and play stupid if needed return, or repair. Also I wonder if this check could be somehow disabled all by itself, for example by taking away some permissions.

This is confirmed to work on 4.3, NC2 firmware for the T999, as well as 4.3 and 4.4.2 KK firmware for the I747! It should work for the T999V firmware released this morning, and for the upcoming KK updates to the T999/T999L/T999N!

Open SuperSu and let it update the su binary
When it asks if you would like to disable Knox, SAY YES!​
Note: I tested this on stock unrooted 4.3 firmware. Build NC2. When I told SuperSu to disable Knox it just hung with the spinner going. I just had to close SuperSu, reopen and when prompted again, said yes and it worked just fine.
There you have it! The easiest root method we have ever had for our S3's! Enjoy!

Recently many have reported problems with root after installing SuperSU. Mostly they are issues with updating the binary breaking root. Chainfire knows about this and is working on it, but until he fixes it do not install via the Play Store.
Instead, download and install (as a normal app) SuperSU 2.00 from here.

CONFIRMED .. this worked on My Videotron SGH-T999V with latest stock 4.4.2 firmware (NF1) ... altho with the following notes ...
at first I tried to use the same procedure I used to root 4.3 (twrp 2.7.1.0 recovery, de-knox script, and superSu 1.65) ... but su binary would either fail to update or not survive boot
used latest towel root apk (version 2), but su binary failed to update until after a reboot
now I'm in the process of using root and Titanium to debloat KitKat .. thanks samsung, lol
so far, I don't really notice much difference between kitkat and 4.3 which is kinda odd for a "major" release .. it's actually a letdown

thank you for this method, unfortunately i only found out about this now and rooted with cf-auto-root last night. Are there are advantages using towelroot instead of cf-auto-root besides that you dont need odin?

In the end, root is root. So no real advantages once you've already done so. This just makes the process extra quick and super easy!
I consider it to be the safest method at this point as well. If for no other reason than it limits the potential for human errors. But it also requires no flashing, which which always carries some risk of its own.
If anyone who has never tripped the warranty bit tries this method, please confirm it does not trip it.
Its been reported not to already on other devices, and I see no reason it would, but its better to have confirmation on each device nonetheless.
And fyi, after flashing stock then running Towelroot, the device status remained "Official" and I could still check for updates until I rebooted. After rebooting it re-runs its check and sets the status to "Custom".

Thanks worked great on my sgh-t999v running stock 4.4.2, it got hung up on disabling knox but after a reset and opening supersu again the message popped up and disabled knox. This is aMAZing

So I tried Towelroot yesterday with both mine and my wifes S3, I can confirm that it works and didn't have any problems. I've included screenshots from Download Mode and Device Status...All Official!....And most important....DeBloated!!!!

From whats around it seems that flashing a custom recovery will lead to a increased warranty counter...But if you don't care...flash away.

That was the easiest root ever. Just followed your instructions and only had an "issue" with SuperSU. I just rebooted and all is working fine. Thanks.

I can confirm that the warranty bit does not get tripped with this rooting method. The status is custom now however but warranty but remains at 0.

If I remember correctly, the AT&T S5's bootloader was locked and you guys couldn't gain root, right? Be careful on your next updates because as I understand it, Towelroot makes use of a kernel exploit which I believe has been patched in all kernels dated after June 6. This means Towelroot most likely will not work on future updates for you guys.
I could be wrong, and hope I am, but just use caution when you update again.

I have a wind mobile S3. It was running 4.3 and rooted. I upgraded to 4.4.2 via odin and none of the methods including this one are working for me.

I am on Wind, upated to the latest 4.4.2 via Odin, went to the website, downloaded the app, ran it, install SuperSU, rebooted and was rooted. I had to do the "knox disable" thing twice, but that's it. I rooted fine.

I had to remove lbe security master then the root worked.

I've got it rooted, xposed installed with the module to translate lbe but I can't download lbe security master because it's not available in my country, thanks google store. So frustrating.

Quick question about transferring all my stuff over to new Galaxy s4.

I've got a new s4 coming from my insurance plan Cuz I broke my screen.
Is there anyway I can get twrp installed without having to sit down at a computer? So I can restore my backup and have it root itself? Help much appreciated.

Search for Towelroot. I believe it will root the Tmo S4 without tripping the Knox flag. I don't think it requires a computer.
And, then once rooted you can install TWRP Manager from the Play Store.

TowelRoot will give you root. When you flash a custom recovery it will trip Knox.

What do you mean it'll trip knox? Ive never had any issues with anything called knox when I rooted and flashed on my original S4 a couple years ago when I first got it.
@The Sickness , are you saying that I WILL run into knox issues if I use this towelroot?
How do I avoid any knox issues? I don't really have access to a computer so all I'm really trying to do is get it rooted with twrp installed, without using a computer if possible. But if I have to use a computer to avoid knox issues, then let me know.

TowelRoot will give you root. When you flash a custom recovery it will trip Knox. The only way to avoid Knox is to keep the stock recovery. And it will not allow you to flash custom roms.

That seems unlikely. How is everybody else flashing custom roms on newer S4s?
I'm seeing things on Google that suggest I can just uninstall knox. If I uninstall it first, then root, will I be ok? Or if I disable it while rooting?

The Knox flag is a indicator to Samsung that you've installed a Custom Recovery. They instituted the check and the flag in the boot loader for 4.3. All the new phones come with this and there is no way to downgrade to a bootloader that doesn't have the check. Unless you are using the phone on a secure company network that requires it, Knox doesn't affect you in any way. Some people have claimed that it MAY cause you problem returning your phone for warranty, but at this point NO ONE has shown that they have had any issues returning their phone with the Knox flag tripped.
You can verify your bootloader, and view the flag's status once you get the phone by going into download mode - power off the phone. Then, hold the Vol Down button while powering on the phone. Hold the Vol Down until you get to a screen that has a Warning about Custom OS. Press the Vol Up button, and you will see a screen with a very small font and the first line will say "ODIN MODE" If your bootloader has the Knox check and flag, you will see line that says: KNOX WARRANTY VOID:. Next to that line with be either 0x0 or 0x1. If the flag is tripped, it will say 0x1.
If you don't have that line in your bootloader, then you don't have Knox, and you should be able to do what you want. However, if you want to keep your phone Knox free, you won't be able to do Over The Air (OTA) updates. You'll have to manually install ROMS, and never flash an updated bootloader.
I've tripped my Knox flag by flashing TWRP to my phone and have never worried about it.

I don't care about tripping any flags, I've got the premium insurance plan. That's actually how I just got the new s4, by filing a claim.
That's the nice thing about insurance on these devices, messing with the bootloader and installing roms Falls under accidental damage, which is covered.
Sure the deductible is 175 dollars.... But just to replace the glass on one of these can cost upwards of 300 dollars. Worth the 11 dollars a month n deductible. I will be canceling it now though. If this one breaks, I'll just upgrade.

I can read what u wrote. I thought when you guys said the knox flag would trip, that it meant I wouldn't be allowed to install custom roms.
I don't care about any flags, just so long as I'll be able to flash stuff like normal.

The SIMPLEST SAFEST and EASIEST would be to just install My Backup Pro.
it has a "Migrate" mode which allows you to send all that you wish to transfer to the new device and on that new device all you need to do is add the app and instead of "Sending" the data, just select "Receive". (takes only seconds) That way you won't muck up your warranty on the new device till you're SURE there is nothing wrong with it... (just coz it was "refurbished" does not mean it works flawlessly! :>)

Thanks for the info. But I disagree. It seems I just root with this towelroot' install twrp' and restore.
However, I'll be installing a clean rom, insane v9, and reinstalling ask my apps from scratch. Just start brand new.
This brand new S4 will last me till the "sapphire glass" S6 is released, for sure.
