You could just move your apps back to internal memory and then swap out the card and reformat.
I think its even easier:
Dismount SD card, remove and insert in PC, copy its contents and then copy them to your new card. Insert new card.
That's what I did when I formated my card when I was suspicious it had errors. No need to move data to memory.
So i was wondering if using CWM to partition a sd card does it any help in its overall snappiness... currently im using titanium backup Pro to move over my apps to SD but i was just wondering if 1) ext file system improves speed rather than the FAT32 file system.. 2) does CWM make a ext2 file system on the sd card ? and 3)do i use link2sd or does the rom automatically figure out where to put them ( does our roms even support it ? )
Im using the new Samsung class 10 32gb micro sdhc cards so id like to get the best performance out of it
Anybody can tell how to move apps to SD card ?
I am unable to move my apps from phone memory to SD card.
I have 64gb Sandisk Class 10 memory card.
I dont get any options to move them to sd card in the app manager.
I also installed app2sd application but it says my phone doesnot have a real primary source of memory or my memory source is emulated.
How do i transfer ?? I have these 2gb and 4gb games which i want to transfer to memory card.

Does not work will not work.
Swap your memory if you are rooted.
JellyBean does not support apps to sd.
In futere wil be possible when rom development is going on.
you can bind your gamedata folder to sd card so additional data is stored on ext sd card.

How do I bind it? Can u guide.
samsungs default is to save apps to the sd card (internal) partition. they share it. i think that's how google has also made it from ICS on out. so there's no point really.
I have app2sd on my ns4g on jellybean so it can't be because of jellybean?

I'm read already for this post, but the problem my int memory and ext memory not FAT 32 formatted but generic hierarchical...it's ok to change the format? and not broke the phone
Leave the internal as is. For external SD card I would recommend this: Unmount it in phone and take it out. Put it in card reader on PC or laptop and copy anything on it you need (music, pictures, videos, files) if there are any. Then format using a PC/laptop to FAT32. This will erase all data on it, thats why you should copy anything on it you need to restore later.
Now that you formatted your external SD card to FAT32, you can copy files back (if tehre were any) so music, videos, pictures, files etc. When done, put the SD card back into phone. IT will detect it and scan and the card is now mounted. Check under Settings -> Storage that you can see it there or with a file manager.
Now once this is done follow my instructions in my thread. Should work.
I use CM12.1 LP, AICP 2015-12-25. on my i9195 S4 mini LTE.
I like it, but i unable to move apps, to SDcard.
It says there is not enough memory.
I have 500MB in internal, and 11GB on SD card.
Which ROM do you suggest, if i want to move apps, to SD card?
I do not want CM13, MM, because i heard it must encrypt the SD card.
I want my SD card unencrypted, for saves.

I've not done it myself but I believe you can move apps to External SD on any ROM with Link2SD (or similar app) & you can partition external SD so you can still read one partition on PC & apps on the other partition.

Do you use Link2SD?
I have a 64GB microSD card, and i do not know, how i have to make partitons.
If i move the apps (and games) to SD card, can i update it? And it is working?

I use it but I have not yet used it to move apps to SD or partition SD, I'm not yet desperate for more space. See the link2sd website & search for link2sd tutorial for more info as it looks to be quite a lot of work.
