Best remote control for G Pad - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm wanting to put a remote control app on my G Pad. It's rooted and running the Mahdi ROM. Any suggestions?

I too would like to know some apps that can use the IR blaster...

See this.....

I'd like to have control over the IR blaster, but how about those that are wifi based? Any suggestions?

One of the popular ones for Android is iRule
http://www.iruleathome.com/
Personally I have not tried it but do plan to at some point. Another one out there that I found in the Play store is MyURemote:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.verdegem.myuremote
Don't have any experience with this one either. Wish there was a trial version.

This one has a 30 day trial. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=Remote.Touch.Squid

I can't remember the name of the app, but there is a program that allows 2 mobile devices (tablets and/or smartphones) to connect this way. The app for the host device is a paid app but each addon device utilizes a free controller app. In this instance, your HTC would use the paid host app to be used with a stereo, TV, computer, etc and your s3 (and any other phones/tablets) would use the free remote control app. I'll see if I can find it again

Using Logitech database for IR Blaster?

My set top box is not supported on peel or watch on, but I found that it is supported by the Logitech harmony codes.
Is there anyway we can get the codes from that database and use them in peel or some other app?
I also have an IR receiver with a 3.5mm output. Can it be used to learn IR codes from the original remote?
If it helps my box is a Cisco 3410DVB

Go to Samsung's website after submitting a ticket via WatchOn, which should happen after failing to set it up, & submit a question to customer service. I had an issue with codes & after getting a hold of service, 3 days later one of their engineers contacted me & a week later t5hey had fixed my issue.
Sammy's customer service has come a long way & has become pretty responsive & helpful. That has been my experience in the last 6 months.
Thanks for the info.
Actually I don't have watch on in my device.
I had submitted the problem with the peel app, but there hasn't been much response to that from the support guys.
I tried an S4 version of Watchon, but it gave me some error, I will try to get the note 8.0 version.

I must be the only once that can't get my TVs to ever react to the IR blaster... just doesn't seem strong enough.
I wonder what's the point in having IR with no app which you could teach by reading signal from your own remote. Even the old Palms could do it (Novii Remote). I searched the Play Store and found nothing, Peel is the first app to go once I start removing the S-bloatware.

Actually, it is Samsung's fault. The hardware for learning codes is missing from galaxy device. The device doesn't even cost 50 cents, why did they didn't include it?
Sony is much better in this aspect, it can learn codes.

You are looking Watch On, I had trouble using it. Controls the TV okay but I had trouble using the DVR with it.
No not watch on its not a Samsung app it's made by another developer it controls all devices and has more features for rooted devices it's been around for a while

I just looked it up and sounds promising? Havent used it yet though
Touch squid ftw. Good support and they update a lot. Kind of challenging setting up less than common features on remotes though.

Oddly I like WatchOn and glad Sammy went with them. I have DirectTV so it's fully functional for almost everything i need. Do with it has a full remote instead the scaled down one. But I paid for the directv remote that works on all my boxes via network, rather i'm in that room or not. Great for screwing with my kids when they decide they want to hide in they rooms instead of coming when i call.

What receiver are you using BTW? I'm having to experiment with different onkyo receivers to find common buttons. Wish there was a learn feature like Logitech harmony.

[Q] LG G3 Quick remote help

Hi why is the g3 quick remote app missing other devices like air conditioner?
I am asking the same question here !!
Weird, maybe you get it from an LG app, like their "app updates" app. I remember having to agree to something before I could use or get it my G2.

my G3 don't work on LG plasma TV either (LG, are you serious?) it works on Onkyo receiver though..
I finally got mine to work, u just need to get really close to the device you are pairing it to. Once paired, the range improves
I cant believe they didnt update the ir blaster its still ****ty

Here's the link for Quick Remote -

Extract and install
Or
For rooted phones,
Move all download files in Titanium backup folder goto Titanium backup app & restore.
Hope this will work
I run cloudy 2.5 my quik remote has all cable ac tv ect i remember kk stock rom d850 had em all when i updated stock lolli i lost all but tv radio cable somthin else dont remeber further more you guys with bad range yah point directly at it try holding the button a few seconds and waving around a little i know it sounds dumb but i get 15 to 20 foot head on range

IR Blaster

The IR port on the G2 was quite weak and didn't work as well as the HTC M7. You had to be quite close to the TV for it to work well
Is it any better on the G3? Also can the HTC TV app be installed on the G3? download the apk from here http://d-h.st/wG4
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.videohub.ui&hl=en_GB
It's the same as on the G2. HTC obviously direct more juice to the ir.
I installed it on my G3 and it's not working
