[Q] I can't click install, when installing APK

So my problem is that i can't clcik install, when i am installing some APK from card.

I mean this button on the lower left corner.
I have restarted the device, allowed unknow sources etc. It happends after updating on Android 2.3.3
Ou yes. I am using stock, original ROM. No ROOT.

Does it happen with all apps or just with one?

I have tested it with about 10 apps.
Installing over USB cabel with HTC sync is working.

Also installing apps from market is working, but i cant install (cant click install) apk from memory card

hi, i found out that i have the same problem too. the issue is that if you have screen filter on, this would happen, so for now, simply turn off screen filter before you install.

wow thank you for this tip!! been trying to figure this out for the past day, and my process of elimination for apps was next on the list until i found this thread

I was using LightSaver 1.7 app and didn`t know that it messed up the "Install" button. After searching all the web found here. lol

I was using LightSaver 1.7 app and didn't know it messed the "Install" button up. After searching all the web found the answer here.

I know this is a little old but it was my first result when googling the problem so wanted to say thanks and add that, in my case, I had the "Rounded Corners" app running and this caused the problem. I stopped that and was then able to hit install.

No, it helped only for a while. It doesn't work now

first try taping on other tabs, and than install.
Or scroll to the end of permissions (looks like intentional buyer protection) than it should be available.

Hello, I have the same problem with not being able to push the INSTALL button. Sorry, could you point me to where screen filter is located--I cannot find it anywhere in Settings? Much appreciate!

Do you have any brightness afjuzting application? If yes then you will find screen filter in that application settings

Bumping because I just had this same problem with a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 international from Telcel in Mexico running stock ROM.
I literally didn't even know of the existence of Screen Filter until now, so what worked was stopping every single app that was drawing overlays: Facebook inbox, GO Power Master, SuperSU and Battery Mix (it draws a discrete little bar at the top of the screen indicating your remaining battery). Now it works all fine.
The lesson here is that if you can't install .apk's, you have to disable EVERY SINGLE APP THAT DRAWS OVERLAYS, starting with the ones you currently have running, then the ones that could draw overlays: in my case, GO Power Master draws one when the phone heats or when battery runs low, SuperSU pops the kdesudo-like dialog, and Facebook inbox has pop-up Chat Heads.

I had to close out Halo.. That was the app that over layed

[Q] Is there a way to diable the power button from waking the Note?

I would prefer to only use the home button to wake my phone. Often I am hitting the power button when adjusting the volume.

Simple solution then.
Basically, use an app like Root Explorer (I use Rom Toolbox) to go into your system files.
The file path for what you're looking for is: system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl
gpio-keys.kl is a key layout file. Editable with any text editor on your phone, however, be sure you save it with the same extension.
On the line that starts with "Key 116 POWER WAKE", simply delete the word "WAKE". Save the file (make a backup, TRUST ME). Reboot the phone.
All done.
I know this because I did it just yesterday when I kept cutting it on accidentally.

EDIT::: JUST tried this myself to make sure I wasn't putting foot in mouth HOWEVER. it didn't seem to work. It works with the home key... but maybe the POWER key is a bit different. Any input from anyone else?

That's to disable home buttons wake but not the power button.

I noticed. I think the POWER function is attached to WAKE somehow.

Careful ...If you disable the power button wake feature, and mess up the file structure, you may not be able to turn the device on or off.
And a nandroid restore of the previous build will be needed.
Not trying to insult anyone's intellect here, just pointing out a possible problem and hate to see people suffer like that....g

Disabling the pwer button wont effect it from an off state. Also long press would still be intact so theres access to the power menu. You know I might be interested in this as well. Ill watch this thread unfold

I use an app that turns then phone off by gestures over the proximity sensor, or in my case when I close/open my flip cover. It's called proximity screen off pro and has an option to not recognized the power button being used at certain times, which you can set up.

Suprising Little Things with the Phone

This is such a great phone! I'm continued to be surprised by little features here and there.
Here are some of my favorite surprises that I've recently discovered.
(*) Pressing the home button three times, will reduce the size of the display. Similar to the reachability feature on iPhone.
(*) The calendar icon actually shows the current date. And, the clock icon actually shows the current time. Love how Samsung is paying attention to these little details.

Go under display settings and turn it on from there!

Don't need to wait for Marshmallow, this phone already got "Do Not Disturb."

When taking selfie, touch heart rate sensor in the back can also snap picture.

You dont need to touch the camera sensor. Tap in the screen anywhere in selfie mode and it will snap a shot

Here's another one. .. in camera selfie mode just say "cheese" or "smile" ?

Also, if the phone is face down you can ignore calls and respond with a canned sms by pressing on the fingerprint sensor.

It only shows it the stock theme. If you theme the phone with a different theme from the theme store it doesn't show any more.

In selfie mode if you wave at the camera, it recognizes your hand then shows a 3 second countdown before taking the shot. (You need to enable this in the camera settings)

Thanks! I also noted that using Nova it doesn´t work. But it´s not a big deal

Seems like you can also get the floating apps like you can do on the Note series, simply launch an app like youtube, then swipe from the top corner to the middle, and there you have it, a floating app.

Great thread, stuff I wouldn't have found for years on my own!

Instead of the 3 home button tap for one handed mode you can reduce any app to be floating by dragging from the top very left or right of the screen down. Not from the top edge but the top of the screen if that makes sense.

I just recieved my new oneplus 3 and it is stuck on silence and it wont change.
By moving the slider it only shows silence, evem when i shake the op3 i feel a vibration and it shows on screen "silence".
Allready went to recovery and make a factory reset...still the same.
I'm on oxygen 3.1.2.

Sometimes on lockscreen just above the finger print scanner there is a lock symbol on the screen and then I'm unable to unlock using fingerprint untill by drawing pattern. Anyone got this?

I just unlocked bootloader only and not flashed any custom recovery onto my OP3. Since after unlocked bootloader, I am seeing annoying bootloader unlocked notification in every reboot and phone gets bootup after 5 seconds of that message. How to avoid seeing that message?

I made two fingerprints to unlock the device which runs good, but sometimes.. or often it locks automatically and i have to unlock using pattern.. There is a message above, dont know the original english message, using my phone on german, but it must be something like "For improvement of safety, a pattern is required"

I haven't experienced this. The only time I have to enter my pattern is when I reboot my phone. Rest of the time finger print works great. Btw I have 4 fingers enrolled.

Sometimes the camera app doesn't switch to the front cam only rear camera works. A reboot fixes it. A friend of mine is also facing this issue. Any solutions?

If i use smart lock i can unlock it using every finger. If i dont use smart lock i can only unlock with the fingers it set. But it gets locked 1 second after seeing the Main screen. First background turns black than the device is locked and needs a pattern to unlock for enhanced security.
Than i got a further question. When phone is locked i can see notifications by holding Hand above the motion sensor. On my old Moto X 2014 i could Do that on a good distance. On Oneplus 3 i have to go really close to the upper left edge of the phone. Bugged or intended?

Can anyone post an screen shot with the CPU speed as can be read in apps like CPU X or CPU spy or CPU Monitor, please.

That's strange. I don't use smart lock and I am facing no problem. Remove smart lock entirely then test it? If it is not solved maybe factory reset your phone once? Or flash the stock firmware?
Regarding the ambient display, it is intended as it uses the proximity sensor. The proximity sensor has a limited range on every device. It is 5cm I think on the one plus 3. Didn't the moto x 2014 has many sensors all around the phone to detect the waving of the hand? Correct me if I am wrong because I don't remember in which year's moto x this feature was implemented.

How many you are experiencing yellow tint/band/smudge issue in the OnePlus 3 display ? Is there anyone ? And can you post images of your display (may be even ones who do not have the issue so that we can understand the difference between a faulty and normal screen) ?

Force quit the app and clear data and clear cache. Has worked for some owners.

I would like to Switch off all Vibration (using Pebble for notification). Any change to Switch vibrates off?

From a locked phone use shake to open the camera app, then shake two more times (sefie, back to regular) now quickly press back a few times. Your phone is now unlocked.
I'm using an AT&T. I am keeping twist to capture off until this get fixed.

Mine doesn't do that. Are you sure you are not tripping the sensor? Or you using shortcuts?

No shortcuts and no trusted devices. I turned shake to capture back on rebooted the phone and no it stays locked as it should. I took a photo, swiped over to view and was brought to my pattern screen. Before rebooting I was able to replicate this three times in a row without flaw. I took my T-Mobile model out of the box and could not replicate the issue.
The only thing I could think would cause this is blockada Origin as it stays open and blocks pop-ups. Anyone with At&t please give this a try and see if it's a real issue or just my phone.

I'm just going to leave the action disabled. My wife's z force Droid has a feature I'm pretty envious of. You can launch the camera by double tapping the power button while the screen is off. Super handy.

I have also tried this with the Verizon version of my Z2F several times and cannot reproduce the phone unlocking.

After rebooting I can't get it to happen again. I also have greenify installed if that could have anything to do with it.

I have the option to double tap the power to activate the camera on my Z2 force. It must be in the settings.

Which carrier model? It is not on the Att one as far as I can tell. It's on my wife's Verizon Z force.
