New dual design Qi charger - Nexus 5 Accessories

Not released yet, but looks interesting. The ADATA Elite CE700. Probably pricey, but options are always good. http://www.phonearena.com/news/ADAT...-a-morphing-Qi-enabled-charging-stand_id51720

Kickstarter: USB OTG microSD reader - perfect for the One

I don’t know if you guys have seen this kickstarter, but it’s a really sleek little USB OTG microSD card reader. I’ve always wanted a nicer looking solution than the dongle and this seems to be it. Who needs removeable storage on our HTC Ones?
Take a look:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andyfei/mini-microsd-reader-for-android-smartphones-and-ta
UPDATE: **** should have looked, this was a few threads down. Sorry.
Thank you !

It's...perfect. I can't believe I couldn't buy anything like this before. I mean, MicroUSB, MicroSD, no one ever bothered to combine the two into a retail product before? It's not like the Nexus trend of no dedicated MicroSD slot just happened last month.
I got one of these a few days ago. Can't wait! Something to one-up this, would be something that someone in another thread suggested; a protective case that plugs into the micro USB port and has a microSD slot on it. I think an even better option than that though, would be having a microSD slot built into a protective battery case, such as the Mophie Juice Pack.

Reached last stretch goal--"add two new color options. One is Metallic Silver -- for those who crave for an aluminum build but we couldn't deliver due to manufacturing difficulty. It is not quite as nice, but at least looks alike -- hey, even for a BMW, there is plastic under its metallic silver finish. The other color is bright vibrant Orange -- for those who like to have a little more color in life. You will be asked to choose your color or colors once the funding is closed."

Okie dokie, figured it might be something like that. Are you seriously going to try to mod your Mophie Juice Pack when it arrives? If so, and it works, do you think you could post a tutorial on how to do it? Maybe even with pictures?

I'm down to do all that. I need to look at the case and an microsd adapter. I have a couple of ideas of how to pull it all off. I actually might try to make a prototype using some other cases if I can find some cheap parts.

+1, I love using my nexus orb to charge my nexus 7.

I got a no brand name made-in-China qi charger from ebay, and it works great.
just search with this term on ebay and you will find it.
"qi Wireless Charger for Nexus 4 Lumia 920 HTC 8X DNA Samsung Galaxy Note2 S3"
My concerns with the dbox / eBay ones are whether they will last compared to the nexus orb. It's tempting cost wise but I would be concerned the device fails and I have to get another. Did you guys compare at all to the official orb?
As for the official one, for those that own it is it really easy to pull off / on off the dock?
I read about Tylt and looks like a nice charger but I don't think I want to spend $80 on one either
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 4
i noticed the d-box one the tablet slips off a bit so id imagine it would be the same for the official one...
I was reading through the Amazon reviews and it sounds like it can be a common issue and not just isolated to the Nexus 7. Funny that dbox lists it's product with no slip in the label

It's easy enough, just set it on the orb so that the orb is roughly in the middle, and wait for the docking sound, assuming you have it turned on. When you want to take the tablet somewhere just lift it and it comes right off the charger. It holds the tablet such that the tablet makes a great nightlight/clock for the nightstand.

Nokia DT-900 has an indicator LED when charging. The charge plate is about the same width as the N7. So the LED is visible when placed in landscape orientation. Works well for me.
The drawback is the power supply not being USB compatible. One extra thing to pack for travel...

att sells it and currently has it on sale for $51, there's a thread about it and the dt-900 on here somewhere. my local store had them in stock. online you get an extra 10% of of you buy 2 accessories and 25% if you get 3

You can get the Nokia DT-910 from AT&T and they have it sale priced at $51.75, which is the best price I've seen.

Meenova reader, I use it on my N5 and N7... Even ordered me a 2nd one last week. Very good stuff.
+1 on Meenova Card Reader. Very very handy for me especially when flashing ROMs where I can easily backup my data and with the included Adaptor I can easily copy files from my laptop on the go. I also like the LED indicator to show data transfer. Its cheap and build quality is exceptional.
Also its great that they have international shipment, took about 1.5 weeks to arrive.
