[Q] Does it run without battery? - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When the battery is removed, can the tablet be used?
When powered by the USB-Charger?
With DC provided directly to the battery-terminals?
I think the G Pad has the perfect size for a car install. But I dont want to install it with the battery included (a battery that is not there cant start a fire).

I was under the impression that the battery is soldered or glued in?

You'd have to remove the battery yourself exposing the back of the tablet. Either way you'd have to jerry rig something together and your chance of fire would be based on your skill as an electrician

It could certainly be done. Use the car battery instead. Out may/probably need to regulate the input voltage to whatever the V500 battery was rated to.

Eco extended seidio battery...phone won't turn on

My friend got the battery and I have the battery. I've had it for months now. He has had a used one for two days and now his phone won't turn on, it will only turn on if you plug it in to give it a charged turn on, the charger can then be disconnected and normal use can he used for a little while and then the phone will cut out and not turn back on.
I wiped battery stats and the battery is fully charged

You can use osmonitor from the market to get info on the battery. It should show you the voltage, battery health, if the temp sensor is working etc. If it all looks good but the voltage starts to drop quickly soon as the phone is unplugged than you have a bad battery.
Once I unplug the battery seems fine, just out if the blue for instance 45 minutes later ill go into music change a song and bam phone dies

[Q] Help!!!...my Battery Drains like crazy!

my battery drains fast and i dont know what to do.
ive installed juice defender and did everything else to limit the battery drain as much as possible.
one thing ive noticed is that my screens brightness is set to low, but on my battery stats it says Display 64%
and recently my system says 30%
i left my phone on the charger overnight. and it got unplugged from the charger, when i woke i looked at my stats and the display was at 64%
the phone signal bar was filled and it was bright yellow.
and my system said 34%
can anyone help me?
When you plug it into a wall charger, can you confirm its charging AC and not USB
How old is the battery? Have you checked all the software that are automatically sync ?
I think that you must dig deep on what's your battery being used and consider the age of the battery in there too

Yes I can confirm it, it says ac charging

@ megabiteg not even a year old. I tried screen filter, flashing diffrent radios, changing wallpapers and turning off haptic press. How do u suggest I dig deeper?

There are battery monitoring apps that you can find to monitor unusual activity.
Now your display is at 64% which is very peculiar.
Having trouble with AOSP? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295702
Hmm I don't know what's up with it. I set my CPU low and I'm running evolved Final ROM.

Could it have something to do with sense?

Try System Panel, it's in the market. Best app I've found for monitoring battery consumption, especially when you need more details than the About Phone section under settings provides. It is a premium app, but cheaper than a new battery. Hope you find a solution quick! Battery problems are a pain.

Have you tried calibrating your battery? Charge to 100%, then boot into recovery and wipe battery stats (or you can use the Battery Calibration app). Let the phone discharge fully - don't plug it in until it dies - then charge back to 100% without breaks.
It could also be an issue with your usb cable or charger. Sprint can run a test on the battery to see if it is the problem. Try calibration first to rule that out, and never wipe battery stats unless you're fully charged.

I've tried the battery calibration. And I've done the wipe stats. I've read on how to recalibrate from HTC....

Another thing I've noticed is that my battery drains when I flash a ROM...

try charging it while its turned off then repeat the steps plainjane said. i was in the same boat as you when i flashed the evolved rom, now my battery life is pretty good.
What I just did was downgrade my radio one. My battery has been so much better in life. I am at 7 hrs right now at 66%. I have been using 4g, texting, and sending emails. Currently running Decks 1.3, SZ 2.2.1 CFS Havs.
What radio do you suggest? I'm on 1.77

I tried the wake lock fix... I dunno if that one was a good pick. What do u suggest?

Try battery monitor widget pro....it should do the thing

Is my phone okay?!

I woke up this morning to my phone scorching hot. I immediately turned it off. Once it cooled down I turned it back on and opened battery monitor widget. It hit 63c! Is that even normal?!

Have you left it on charger by putting it to.download files ?

It is certainly not normal for it to heat up like that if you weren’t doing anything. But hopefully your phone is still alright. Sounds to me like an application kept the phone running at full speed. Did you have a game or some other relatively CPU intensive app running? Was it on the charger? What kernel are you using ?
I fell asleep while streaming radio and it was plugged in. Certainly not doing that again. The kernel is stock. I just wanna make sure that it isn't damaged in anyway. It seems to be fine now.

you should set alarms in Battery Monitor Widget for high temperature
I generally set high temperature alarm to 45 C
This way whenever my battery temp rises above 45 c i get sound notification and that helps me a lot
No no no noooo, not normal.
