[Q] bricked Galaxy Trend GT-S7560, is there any hope? - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I made a big mistake - I took recovery and kernel from other phone - galaxy ace 2 I8160
Short version story:
1) I installed temporary recovery from I8160 - CWM 6.0.2.8
2) I installed temporary kernel from I8160 - CM10.1_kernel_CWM.zip wchich didnt look what phone its flashing in update script
An effect: bricked state looks like
Turning on - phones shows his model (1st animation), after that nothing happens.
recovery/download mode dont start, after releaving keys it starts 1st animation only.
After pluging into power charger/computer screen blinks whole the time - doesnt show percent of battery.
Can I save life of this phone?
Before this story I had rooted software from Africa (sept. 2013, changelist 1230914)
Update script from kernel zip:
Code:
ui_print("Instalacja kernela...");
ui_print("Mounting...");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3", "/system");
ui_print("Usuwanie obecnych modułów...");
delete_recursive("/system/lib/modules");
ui_print("Wypakowanie modułów...");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
assert(package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img"),
write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p15"),
delete("/tmp/boot.img"));
ui_print("Gotowe");
unmount("/system");

If you can't enter download mode then it is hard bricked, so you have probably completely screwed your phone as there is no way to do anything. Sorry

I'm not sure this it work. But you should try this if you want to take your phone back
1. Flash ROM Stock with ODIN
2. Install CWM
3. Wipe Data, Cache, Davik
4. Reboot

[Guide]To UnBrick (a Soft Brick) SGS GT-I9000

Hey Users
I wanted to create this guide as I'm seeing allot of SGS users bricking there phone..This guide works for SGS GT-I9000 only..
ALSO USE THIS GUIDE IF AND ONLY IF U SEE THE FOLLOWING IMAGE WHNE BOOTING YOUR PHONE(attached image:1)
Downloads:
1. Odin3_v1.00 download here
2.The PIT file here
3.USB Drivers form here(This Is Optional if it is already installed by your phone, else you need to download it and install it)
Steps:
1.Run Odin3
2.Select "pit" and add the pit file u downloaded
3.Put ur SGS to download mode
--Do so by Pressing the 3 button combo Volume Down+Home(Center) Button+Power button
--Hold it till you see the Download screen(attached image:3)
Then go back to odin and see if your phone is connected (attached image:2)
Make sure re-partition is un-checked
Hit the Start button and wait..it'll unbrick your phone and load the previous Fimrware/Rom...
Enjoy

Hit the Thanks Button if my thread helped...
yes,that's a soft brick.
Haha I was being stupid and repartitioned my phone and flashed the new stock rom every time that happened. Thanks man!

This will not solve anything if u cant get into download mode, and usually if your phone is bricked then u cant access download mode, so your thread should be called how to fix your phone when its soft bricked
you sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!!!! Got my dad's phone back from the black-screen-of-death.
That pit file saved my life, otherwise i would of had one angry Dad, lol.
Thank you!!
Way better than flashing Darky 10.2 RE every single time like I did. Thanks I'll try it as i get a softbrick frequently.
I hate to be that guy, but this "guide" is somewhat incomplete and misleading:
first of all the very first and important step is making sure one has installed the appropriate drivers and that the OS recognizes the phone through DL mode, otherwise Odin will suck on "setting up connection" (this is the most common cause for soft brick during flashing)!
second: if there's no re-partition, there's no need for pit neither, because that's exactly it's used for: it contains the partition table structure layout for the official firmwares.

[HELP] Phone bricked

Hello dear users of xda. I have a serious problem. My phone is bricked after installing Chainfire 3d driver on jellybean ( i forgot it will not work on JB)
So then i wanted to reflash the Jb MC8 but odin does'nt detect my phone ;(. Tried on 3 pc's tried reinstalling drivers, tried Heimdall still the same.
Recovery mode works, but i dont have a backup. (BTW i have stock recovery of JB MC8) Tried my friend's cable (she has ace 2 too) did'nt work. My flash counter is 2 so i am afraid i might even have to buy a new phone. Can anyone help???

If you open it on your computer without extracting it go to the updater script and remove that line should be good to go after that.

As far as I know this can't be flashed from stock recovery. Root your lg, install freegee from the play store, use it to unlock your bootloader and install one of the given recoveries, I used nandroid manager to boot to recovery but if goo manager has that option too then go for it, but once in your new custom recovery select install zip (from SD card) and choose the philz zip you downloaded. Follow the prompts to complete the install, then select reboot recovery. It will then load to philz. It works. That's exactly how I did it. Don't forget you need to be rooted before using freegee. Framaroot works for that on this phone.

How to install Twrp ([Team Win Recovery Project)
Now first of all credits goes out to Team Win for making this amazing custom recovery, secondly make sure you have root if not you could find it on the forum somewhere. Anyway you might want to backup contacts and data and stuff like that in case you accidentally brick your phone or something. Lets get straight in!
Requirements:
A clear thinking brain
Galaxy ace 2 (attempting to do this on another device might suffer unforeseen consequences)
Twrp for galaxy ace 2 (download)
Odin (download)
A computer
Also install USB driver for galaxy ace 2 on the computer or you can just install Kies (both takes about 5-10 mins)
Instruction:
1) Backup data and files
2) Download all required files.
3) Put phone into download mode by clicking (Volume up+Home button+Power button) at the same time
then it should come up with some warning then click continue.
4) Plug the phone into the computer via USB cable
5) Open up Odin and click on PDA then open up the file GT-I8160-TWRP-Kernel.tar.md5
6) Hopefully you have install the USB driver because the rectangle just above should appear as COM(number)
7) Then if you are staisfied and checked everything is in order, go ahead and click start!:fingers-crossed:
8) Hopefully after it finnishes it should reboot if you wanna check go ahead and boot into recovery mode and hopefully it should install!:laugh:
If you have any problems or issues make sure to post your questions below.

I am really new at this can you give me the link to that
i will try this,fb later tnx
Thanks for this, flashed it to my stock rooted ace2, HK band yo~ It rockz~!
then i flashed cm11, it run nicely. so i try to make a backup and found that twrp was replaced by cwm, so i went striaght to flash twrp back. then the phone refuse to boot... it hang at "SAMSUNG GT-I8160" screeen
anybody experiencing the same, or it this just me doing the step wrong?
I factory reset before flashing cm11, the flash gapp, then factory reset again before cm11 first boot.
after that i flash twrp again via odin and then hang at boot.
Thank you.
thank You OP
thank you, thank you,. thank you!
I have had a bit of a nightmare recently with my Ace 2 as one of my recent posting shows.
there are far too many hits on Google to so called tutorials that simply do not work and I have spent years (or is that weeks?)
in getting my phone downgraded/rooted and with my preferred CWM.
the last straw was all the none working advice to get CWM installed, and then I found your thread.
10 minutes later TWRP was installed (a permanent one also!) - and my phone backup up.
all together now -
"happy days are here again -the skies above are clear again - dum de dum de dum de dum! :good::laugh:

Custom Rom: Android 6.0 P8000 Network A & B zip

I'm not good at this at all so if someone wants to clean up the post they can. Anyway, I took the stock rom and converted to zip.
I was also able to do the following:
Add Root
Add Busybox (updated)
Add su.d support
Add Init.d Support via boot.img
Add /data/app support
Add insecure boot.img
Removed dm-verity from boot.img
Removed forceencrypt from boot.img
All this was made possible via SuperR's Kitchen (which is pretty awesome by the way)
Many thanks for his work, that made this all possible. Now I as able to make this same rom
work for the network B versions as well (I have network B). I added the script and files needed to the
ROM for it to work. Let me know how it works out.
Network A
Network B
And found this over at 4pda.ru. Its working great so far!

Is this ROM for p8000 2015 or 2016? What about the fingerprint and the Lag on wake up?
Which recovery do u use for flashing?
And, good job!
Its for the 2015, I did just notice the lag and I haven't tried the finger print yet but would assume those are not fixed. You should use the TWRP 3.0.2 from needrom.com to flash this.
Sent from my P8000 using Tapatalk
Of course after I say that the lag stops

Would you be willing to build this for the 2016 version? (Stock 6.0)
In any case thank you for your contribution!

Im sorry i did not uderstand that. I was reffering to the Lag on wake up. You know when the phone is locked, and u press the power button. It takes ~2.5 secounds for the display to light up. That bug is still present?

thx
Edit:
I had to chane the two lines:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/11230000.msdc0/by-name/system", "0", "/system");
set_progress(0.100000);
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/11230000.msdc0/by-name/system", "/system");
set_progress(0.200000);
to:
format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/system", "0", "/system");
set_progress(0.100000);
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/platform/mtk-msdc.0/by-name/system", "/system");
set_progress(0.200000);
with that the setup worked well but after that i got a bootloop
Try installing the image version of 6.0, format when you do, and then install it. This worked for me when I came from lollipop

is the ROM good? Does it have the wake up bug again?
It doesn't seem to have that. I haven't experienced it but I've only been running it for two days now

so when the phone is locked and the screen is off, once you click on the power button it wakes up normally? Without delay?

You mean format not factory reset? I only did a factory reset ...
Using the spftool format and install 6.0. Then install the twrp recovery with the tool and then install the zip. Make sure to wipe everything except your mico SD card

Wake up delay is a kernel issue. No fixable for now.

An apology for my English , I only speak Spanish ... I meant " recover the imeis " with a terminal. When I install a new ROM always I need to insert the IMEI again. I have already achieved in this ROM , but I could not turn on 4g . Engineer mode does not allow me to select the bands of my mobile operator (and it is a fact that is supported, as in android 5.1 I can definitely have 4g) . I need Band 4 for 4g and Band 2 and 5 for 3g. Thanks in advance, and hopefully someone can help with this.
So when you go into engineering mode, does it force close when you try to select Band and then Sim 1?

It is not closed, simply are disabled for selection. Simply these are grayed out . I do not know how to post images , but could send a screenshot .
