XDA app: notification links not loading - About xda-developers.com

When I get an XDA notification on my phone, for say a post in a subscribed thread - I press on it and it goes to the site but gets stuck on "loading".
Any pointers please?

Amdroid app scrolling behaviour...

I hope this is the correct section to post this, i have been using the xda app for a while and think its great, but recently the scrolling behaviour when reading a thread seems to have changed. I like to flick up on the screen, then stopping the movement by long pressing and moving to where i was last time. This was working fine until recent updates, but now it is unresponsive to a longpress while moving, except occasionally to bring up the long press menu of specific posts.
I hope you can understand what i mean. A good example of how it was is the behaviour on the official facebook app, when viewing your main feed. Guess im hoping it will return to this soon...

Google image search problems...

Ok so as of recently when I search images on Google in the stock browser I can scroll through them just fine, but the bar at the bottom that displays info and takes you to the website seems to be too low. I can see the top of the bar, but not enough of it to see the info or click the site link. Is this a bug or a setting that was somehow changed? Any fix for it that is known?

I have noticed that too, in Dolphin. It only gets in the way 50% of the time. I am hoping someone has a fix for it. Or I will switch/try ICS Browser+.

[Q] CM10 M2 ROM Randomly adds app icons on the home page

I'm wondering if anyone has noticed that after CM10 M2 ROM is installed that it randomly adds app icons on the home page? Intermittently when booting app shortcuts show up on the home page. This happens even when I don't install an app. Things I installed weeks ago are randomly on my home page. never more than 1 at a time, but about 10 times a week!
Can anyone help? Help...
what apps?
Go to the play store menu and see if auto add widgets is checked if it is UN checked it and see if that solves your issue

Thanks - good to know were all in it... For the record I love CM10 M2. It's by far the best ROM I've tried hands down! But, the problem has come back.... :/
The earlier fix: I went in Play store a week ago and unchecked install icon on home page.
Original problem has not gone away. It still adds icons to desktop. I've been playing with it to try to get an idea for what causes it. If I have all spots taken on the home page for app shortcuts, it will remove the app I already have there and add another random one. Always in the upper left.
So, I figured out that it only happens on reboots. But it doesn't happen if I leave the previous randomly placed icon alone!! If I remove the previous random icon and put one of "my" choosing, then reboot - it will trash mine and put another one there. It's always a random one. It might be ones that I had grouped from another page (i.e. several icons in one spot using the group feature).
BUT - I also learned that if I leave the randomly placed app icon where it put it - then reboot - A new one doesn't come!!! The previous random one stays put for several reboots!!
Oh - one last thing. I'm using the customization of the Launcher Grid - the number of icon rows and columns. I have it currently set to 6 rows & 5 columns.
Do you think that is why?? (maybe too many icons on the page so they are too close and then get pushed off the edge???)
What do you think...

PS - Adding a snapshot of the home page. Clock app disappears unless it was the random one from a reboot...

Seeing ads in notification bar.

Hey all.
Recently (like a week ago or so) I started seeing ads in my notification bar... it has an icon which is a white star with a red dot in the middle. The last one I got said "College degrees available" and when I clicked it... it brought me to gameloft.com (first time seeing this site)
Any ideas? It's not that much of a nuisance, but I'm just afraid of spyware and such.
I didn't install any new apps (at least I don't think), but did update my apps.
Thanks.
next time, press and hold the ad in the notification bar. Then a pop up should appear which brings you to the App info. there you can disable notifications for the app. This should help.
Or you just go to the app info directly if you know which app causes this.

you are right, I don't tought about this, thanks.
You may want to try an app like Airpush Detector to find what apps are giving you these adds.

One star the app and leave a comment saying they are spamming the notification bar, devs should be discouraged to using these types of ads. I have no problem with paying a dollar (or a few if needed) or seeing in app ads, but ads being displayed on the home screen or notification bar from an app is unacceptable.

This. No app should have that sort of crap in them.

I second this app. Try it to find out the culprit and let others know in the market review.

Problem with lockscreen after 4.2

So hi, i just registered and using the tutorials provided here i flashed Android 4.2 Jelly bean on my phone, unfortunately something went wrong i guess during the process and my lockscreen is now like this:
As you can see, i don't get the 'google now' and 'camera' option in the lockscreen and there is a weird symbol at the botton of the screen.
If i just slide my finger in the place where those options should be, i get the usual unlock options (like if it was moving..).
Well i just tried to post and i got the message that i can't posts links until i reach 10 posts so im putting the images as attachments
Anyone?

This is normal, swipe from right to left to access the camera, and swipe from the navbar up to access Google now ^^

OH, my bad and you are right, apparently the vid i checked to see if that was something going wrong, the person had some kind of customization i guess, i checked some popular reviews of android 4.2 and that is actually how it is supposed to be.
Thanks a lot!
