Any one have a recommendation of the thinnest case that protects all four sides of the phone? I have the GSM Nexus and the Incipio and Case Mate options do not provide cover on all four sides. I was wondering if any one has seen something similar but with 4 corner protection
I don't really like cases as I find the ones with a nice feel to "grab" too much when I pull the phone out of my pocket, but I do use a silicone "skin" occasionally when I want to keep the phone from jostling around in my cupholder or if I'm doing an activity where I don't want the phone to slide out of my pocket easily. They're dirt cheap too, only $2-$3 on ebay.
Rearth RingKe Slim

Definitely a toss-up between Rearth Ringke SLIM, SGP Neo-Hybrid, and SGP Ultra Capsule.
Here's an excellent video review of the SGP Neo-Hybrid. I'm really interested in seeing the same reviewer do the Rearth SLIM, and sent him a PM requesting it. I hope he obliges
The problem that I have with the rearth and the hybrid is that they don't come completely up the side of the phone. I wouldn't mind if they came flush. The capsule might be a winner I'll have to find more pictures.

The Rearth indeed doesn't come all the way up on the sides, however the Hybrid does. Check out the review I linked you, specifically 1 minute and 53 seconds in - you can see the rubber part comes up and slightly over the phone.
In either case it doesn't really matter, either way the top and bottom DO have extruding "lips" so when you place your phone flat on a surface, the screen won't be touching it.

Oh thanks I didn't notice the lip on the Hybrid.. Interesting. Thanks
any of these fit the extended battery in cdma version
I'm currently using the diztronic rev 3 matte black one . Works great and it fits over the extended battery.

I just got my GSM Nexus, and just installed an XO skin (non-case version) on the screen. do any of the above case suggestions interfere with screen protectors? I'm looking to getting a thin case just to increase the grip on the device.
I wish someone would make something like the diztronic but thinner. That way it would have grip and a little protection, but still feel close to stock and fit in docks and such. I saw something like this years ago on a nokia phone.
I have a diztronic case and it's not bad but too thick Imo. I ordered one of those "skin" stickers, but haven't received it yet.

I went with the sgp Neo hybrid. It's much thinner than I expected and provides full coverage. My only is that it's smoothness is hard to get used to and is a little slippery. Hopefully I won't drop it

SGP Neo Hybrid
SGP NEO HYBRID!!!!! and since you have the gsm version itll fit like a glove
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Sgp Neo hybrid ftw. Best case IMO. Its not slippery for me at all. And its pretty damn thin for a 2 piece case. They even sent it hand gift wrapped. Great customer service !

I keep hearing about how nice the Diztronic cases are for the GS3. I watched a review online of the matte black one and it just looks like a normal thin TPU case. What is so nice about them? Just curious as I've already purchased a Speck Candyshell case.
Thanks!

There is nothing special about them other than it does what it was meant for very well. It fits the phone nicely and has a little nicer feel than the $3 ebay TPUs. Oh, btw, don't purchase the matte blue version and expect to be happy with it matching your pebble blue. The glossy sides are too purple looking. The matte back matches but not the sides and front. I would go with the black if I could do it over.

Thanks, I'll see how my Speck looks/feels and decide if I want to grab one of the Diztronic's as well since they are so cheap.
I have the zoogue and what i heard is they are pretty much same except the zoogue has covered buttons. I love mine so far.

I had the matte white one and while it felt good in my hands, the color turned to crap quickly...if you put it in your jeans pocket, it will turn blueish...then I got a zoogue case....I'm actually surprised at how well it feels and the construction of the case feels solid... best case I've used so far
I have the matte black version for the S3. hands down the best tpu case I've used. Matte finish is great, cutouts and fitment is flawless, edges are very solid and tight around phone. The most surprising part is the included dry install SP is the absolute best I've used on this phone.... All for $9.
I believe they live up to the hype.

Where did you buy it from? Amazon?
I have bought Diztronic, but I don't use it. It doesn't work with whole screen protector from Realook.
So I did not like it. Also my case had misaligned cutouts.

They have said that somehow you need to place fingernail to adjust case properly.
I like the texture, but don't use because of incompatibility with my SP.

There's also the Ringke Slim case, aside from that though, no idea.
Ive got a Ringke slim on the way
Ordered the diztronic. It was my favorite on n4. We will see how it is on the nexus 5. I like that it surrounds the edges all around compared to some other brands.

I'll give that a try.
What I don't like about Spigen and Ringke is that both does not completely cover the top and bottom of the phone.

Just received my Ringke Slim case. Thinnest case I have seen yet. I always bought Diztronic TPU cases in the past but want something that did not add any bulk and kept the look of the device but still offered some protection.
I took some pictures of the case next to my Nexus 4 Diztronic case. My phone is being delivered today so I will add some pics later with the phone it it. This case is thin! I will have to see what I think about it not covering the top and bottom but sonce the corners will be ptotected it should be just fine.

I got ringke too looks great long wait to uk though.
I just went ultra-cheap ass way with thin case.
QuickSand Matte Hard Skin Cover Case
Then again, last 5 of my phone cases have been "sand" cases, for better grip.
Are there any ultra-thin cases that protects the top and bottom (I mostly just want a all around color case instead of missing top and bottom)? I don't need drop protection but only a shell so as thin as possible would be awesome.
Got it along w/ 2 other Spigen cases and like this one the most, slimply because it allows me to plug in a headphone plug and the top and bottom does not have a lip that will trap pocket lint.
Only downside(s) is that it's smooth surface doesn't give you that confident feeling you would have like you would w/ the rubberized surface. It's a tight fit and I worry if I take it off and on that it could damage the volume and power button.
Anybody have an idea of one like this but is rubberized? I don't want anything with funky graphics or designs, just simple plain
I'm also looking for something with a rubberized texture. I got the Ringke Slim case and it has such a feathery smooth finish that I'm constantly worrying about the phone slipping out of my pocket. It's even difficult to get a decent grip if my hands are the least bit dry (which is all the time in the winter). I'd love to find a nice soft TPU case that is slim and slightly rubbery. The SGP Ultra Capsule on my old GS2 was perfect! Anything like that for the N5?

Do not buy the ringke slim case it damages the phone when you take the case off. Also it has sharp edges all over. I had to pull so hard that the back plate of the nexus 5 came off in the corner. Worthless case

Been using the neo hybrid for a bit only issue is it adds some bulk because of its square design, also the fact that its not that grippy doesnt help.
Thinking of returning it for a better slimmer case. Any suggestions?
forgot to mentions i am also using the spigen crystal screen protector

For full phone coverage the Diztronic tpu case is fairly thin. For a little less protection the Rinke slim hard case is very thin and keeps the original feeling of the phone.

I've been very pleased with my Spigen ultra fit. Ringke also has a version, and LG is supposed to have a similar one soon as well (there's thread titled LG hardshell).
The Spigen case probably does not offer the same drop protection since it is a plastic shell, but I like that it at least feels like the phone (both colors' feel/texture are well matched to each phone color's feel/texture), and retains the phone's slim design. My only warning would be to add 4 tiny strips of Scotch tape inside the edges of this case, since some people have reported the case scratching their phone sides upon removal.
I do not recommend ultra fit

been researching through all the cases espcially the slim ones. Both spigen and ringkes slim one can scratch up the phone and are really sharp on the edges... might just go naked with screen protector , the black nexus 5 feels so good in the hands =)
Mine has no sharp edges. Guess I got lucky!

came to my conclusion from a lot of people's experiences
Snap on case for Nexus 5
I use this Snap on case for my N5 and it really goes well with the look of my phone and do complete justice with it....the case quality is very fine..fine grip..not slippery..can also lay my phone on the table from screen side no worries..protects the phone from both upper and downward ends...and as it is too a kick stand one so I too enjoy the media viewing on it.....I like this one...so you can give a try to it...may be you like it...
thanks !!!
I use a suede pouch for the Nexus 5. Check out sfbags .
Thank you...Jimmy..I had considered...the Amzer case...indeed the texture looks very grippy...and..the kickstand is a nice feature as well...what do you think..about the durability of the kickstand?...I have read in a few reviews..that the kickstand breaks after the first few uses...let us know..what you think...thanks..
I picked up a couple of $3 cheap Chinese imports from Ebay. TPU, gloss black "bumper" with matte-black back. Super thin, just thick enough to negate the camera lens bump. I wish I could tell you the brands, but "generic" is all that comes to mind. One did have a little seam ridge along the very outside edge - which I took care of with a disposable razor. Just shave it off.

Using Spigen Slim Armor. To me, doesn't add me bulk or weight. The back isn't very slick (although it shows fingerprints and smudges pretty easy, but they wipe off just as easily). I like it, very pleased with it. I did get one of the defective ones, but it was replaced very quickly, and now it's fine.

I bought this case off eBay:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/400619070423?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1
Out of 3 different cases I bought (neo hybrid, bumper, s line) it was the cheapest. To my surprise it also is the best fitting. Felt comfortable in the hand, easy to grip and hold, doesn't feel like its going to slip out of your hand like the neo hybrid.
The neo hybrid is a nice case, but it feels awkward and uncomfortable due to is solid square design. Spigen needs to redesign it with curves around the back for better geip., but it just feels huge to hold in comparison to the eBay one I linked too, and a naked nexus 5

Good to know, question though does it have a screen guard like the otterbox defender does. I prefer it not to.
I just bought the Ballistic SG case yesterday, will report back when it arrives. I already have a TPU and a heavy duty case so I was looking for a mid range protection.

No it doesn't have a screen protector.
Some things I like about the case:
1. Phone seems pretty well protected but I can't tell you for certain because I haven't dropped my phone yet.
2. Assembly / disassembly is rather simple.
3. No screen protector
4. Cut outs leave a lot of space so accessing the headphone jack and charging port is easy.
Things I don't like:
1. The back of the case is rather slippery.
2. The rubber on the corners is somewhat loose, which could be a problem if it loses elasticity.
I think the Trident Cyclops case is better than the Ballistic in most areas. However, I'm using the Ballistic regularly because the the adapter on my headphones won't fit in the headphone port using the Trident case.
My Ballistic SG case came in today, fits great, nice wide cutouts and a matte texture on the back so its not slippery.

My case came yesterday, it is a great. It fits very well, buttons are very easy to access w/o getting pressed inadvertently. It is not slippery at all either. To me there are only two downfalls, one being that it covers the Moto dimple and the other being that the lips are a little tall on the front making the quick camera swipe a little tricky but still doable.

I found the Ballistic case for the Nexus 5 to be fairly slippery on the sides, but less so on the back. Is the Ballistic case for the Moto X the same (lightly rubberized on the back only)?
Yes the sides of the Ballistic SG case are hard plastic and slick compared to the back. Case is not slippery though.
