Sim recognized but no signal at all !! - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

after i updated my international P6 to B-125 firmware i got a weird problem, the phone reads my sim card but no signal at all and its always showing "no service" on the home screen, i dont think its hardware cause when i try to search for networks manually it shows all available networks at my country but refuses to connect to mine (Can't connect to this network at this time) and also i tried 911 and it connected and someone answered, so i dont think its a hardware bug, but what else could it be , any help please with that?
edit: ofcourse i tried the sim in another device and its working just fine

Think about that and you must to try this:
Look at this folder "system/cust" and inside the cust folder you must have one folder with the name of your operator mobile company with the files necessary to works...if don't have it that I said you must to put this folder....but now don't know how explain this because I don't know how make it.

i dont have my operator nor any of my country's in this folder, there are other operators like Orange etc, maybe u can share your source for that!!

any help??

Does your device have an IMEI number?
My P6 was flashed with a wrong ROM by the previois owner and somehow the IMEI erased.. This can cause your issue too. If there's no IMEI, the network operators don't let your phone to connect to the network.

bricked phone - used ruu but no network signal?!!

hi guys,
so i have a serious problem, probably my own fault, but hopefully someone here can help me out!...
so earlier today my phone restarted itself, then when it came back on i lost all funtionality in my SDcard, then lost usb recognition to windows! so after reading all and many failed attempts i decided to use a ruu (RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe) to restore it to hopefully working condition...
so it worked fine, it booted up, sim card was recognized.. but then within a few seconds my network operator is no long working, (works in old phone and my old sim works in this one) .. when i go to network operators, search networks, i click on orange and it just says 'your sim card does not allow connection to this network'
i have a unbranded desire, did i use the wrong ruu?!
any ideas guys?! im going insane here!
* oh and i formatted sd card to fat32, and now that just says unrecognised!
How long you have this phone?
I suspect it may be network barred which it block to use UK network because it has been report lost or stolen the phone IEMI# will be enter in their blacklist.
i have had it 5 months i think, but the sim card i have works in my old phone still?
how would it become barred becuase i returned to what i think is a default ruu?
Not sure, I'm not best person to solve.
Maybe RUU error, because I cannot find Orange RUU in XDA for some reasons.
I can see there is T Mobile, Vodafone etc but no Orange on list.
ok, thanks... i have just noticed something else now...
when connecting my usb to pc, it isnt recognized anymore so i check device manager and it now displays 'qualcomm cdma technologies msm' in other devices!
did the ruu somehow change my phone from gsm to cdma?!
i have tried selecting gsm only in network options but my desire wont let me!
Sound like a USB brick. Try this.
thanks mate,
having trouble though...
i have got to the point of installing terminal emulator but cant issue even the first command.. just says permission denied or directory nonexsistent!
You probably need root, are you rooted again after the ruu? If yes first type "su". If not and unrevoked doesn't work maybe try visionary to temp root.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
no, i cant root because i cant connect to the pc to use unrevoked... are there always ways to root?
apart from the apk you just suggested which i will try now...
my network signal is now back on, my sdcard is now recognized again thanks to a code i found to use in fast boot...
just need to restore the usb functionality now!

Galaxy Gio no signal with any SIM!!!!!!

Hi there,
I'm facing with a strange problem with Galaxy Gio (formerly branded TIM [Italy], now it's no brand/sim unlocked). Any SIM I've tried, it takes no signal - so I can't make phone calls - but I can connect to data network!! (obviously, these SIMs works properly on other phones).
It's been a while that I'm finding solutions on this board - and on others. I've changed many ROMs, both Stock and Custom (I've tried Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Italian and German stock ROMs in order to try different basebands)
Recently, I'm trying to see some settings on "Service Mode" hidden menu (code *#197328640#). I've seen in "Debug Screen" - "MM Information" that rej_cause is 0x6. According to this site http://www.biss.bloger.hr/post/mm-rejection-cause-description-1/6596587.aspx, it means
Cause value = 6 Illegal ME
This cause is sent to the MS if the ME used is not acceptable to the network, e.g. blacklisted. When used by an MM procedure, this cause does not affect operation of the GPRS service.

It's very strange because every SIM that I've tried works like a charm on any other phone.
Must I change any settings in Service Mode?
Thanks in advance.
Check your imei. If it doesn't match what is under your battery or is like 000004900016000 you have lost your imei.

If you have no signal it means the unlock failed.(that's everything I know )

I've checked my IMEI number on "Numbering Plans" website and it seems to be correct (also on "AMTA" website it reports me that it's unblocked). Furthermore, it matches to what is under my battery.
If I digit *#7465625# it returns me all settings to OFF.
I think you lost your /efs while unlocking, wich means theres a critical file gone, and now you have no signal anymore

I didn't unlock this phone, I've got it already unlocked by a friend of mine.
Probably, as you say, I've lost /efs partition. How can I recover EFS data?

Code:
Why the /efs folder?
This is a very sensitive system folder that contains Phone-specific information such as the IMEI (encrypted in the nv_data.bin), wireless devices MAC addresses, product code (also in the nv_data.bin), and much more. Often users trying to change product codes or trying to unlock the mobile will end up corrupting data in this location.
are you sure your IMEI is correct?
losing or corrupting EFS should also give a wrong IMEI like 00000 or something
I'm sure of it, indeed when in dialer I digit *#06#, it returns me the same IMEI number that I have under the battery (and it's not 00000 or something).
Is there any method to recover EFS data?

only if you backit it up
are you currently on stock rom?
root acces?
Yes I'm on a stock ROM with root access.
I've tried to mount EFS partition, as described in http://www.criten.org/2011/11/root-unlock-the-samsung-galaxy-gio-gt-5660v/, only to see what's inside it.
Partition was mounted correctly and I've tried to view perso.txt file but, as I'm expected, it contains all zeros end on.
then you're problably unlucky, you can't restore EFS if its not backed up

From what I see, efs partition exists on my phone, but it's not mounted at boot (that's why before I have to mount it manually with mount –o nosuid,ro,nodev –t vfat /dev/block/stl5 /efs ) . I don't know if it's corrupted, is there any way to check it?
Ok I've seen that nv_data.bin is missing under /efs partition. I suppose that's impossible recover it or re-create it. :crying:
I Dont think you can use mine for example...

My senstion doesn't have a /efs folder either. That explains a lot!

Did you mount the stl5 to reveal the nv_data.bin?
There is a fix for recovering efs folder for Galaxy i5500 (even there is no backup) which is having the same CPU architecture as the Galaxy Gio.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15408191&postcount=4
I have had the same problem.
It seems that when in usb diagnostic mode there is no network signal.
type *#7284# or *#9090# and choose UART DIAG mode again after unlock. Works 100%! Tested by me just now!
:good:

Emergency calls only due to IMEI problem

Hello guys,
I bought a new S20 Ultra, 2 days ago, it was on Android 10, when I tried to update it via OTA, it showed a toast saying "registration failed".
So not knowing this is a problem, I simply downloaded Odin and Frija, used Frija to get the same exact ROM with the same CSC (XXV: Vietnam), and flashed it, so far all good, after starting, the sim card was showing "emergency calls only", I tried literally everything: Network reset, restart, re-flash another ROM, another CSC (no matter what I did, CSC didn't change on the phone).
I noticed that I can't change the network provider (stuck on Automatic, and shows a toast saying: "Error while searching for networks").
*#06# shows the IMEI code written on the back of the phone.
About Phone also shows the same IMEI code on the back of the phone.
*#0011# shows: IMEI Status: NG
I have searched a lot in this forum and others, and found that I should have backed up my EFS folder, following the instructions in this comment, I rooted the phone, and used Root Explorer, inside the EFS folder, there's no "nv_data.bin" file, I wanted to delete the IMEI folder, but had to do a backup first, then things went south flashing TWRP, so I stopped and re-flashed a stock ROM (removing root and everything).
I went out to a local repair shop, the person said that the phone isn't reading the sim, and it should be unlocked using a box (hardware unlocking). But I think that Chimera would do the job, but I don't understand why they only have a yearly sub, while some people need to use it just for 1 day :/
If anyone went through this problem, or has any idea, please let me know.
Thank you!
UPDATE: Apparently on the back of the device, it says: LIVE DEMO UNIT NOT FOR SALE.
