CM 11 Jan20 nightlies (both) broke bsplayer - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tried both Jan20 nightlies and found out that BSPlayer no longer works with m3u playlists (video streams, did not test it with audio streams). It opens just fine with the first stream on the list, but when I press the Next button it crashes.
No such problem with Jan18.
Does anyone experience this issue?

I'm having lots of issues: forced closures when exiting or forwarding and backing the videos. The worst is that it is messing the files, destroying them.

Touch Pro 2 and iPlayer

Hi guys,
Anyone in the UK able to use BBC iPlayer yet? I was able to on my Xperia, but am not able to on this.
Anyone got it working yet?
Thanks

i followed those instructions and it worked.
Or you can try Myplayer a standalone application which also lets you to see the itv programms. Just search the hacking section on this forum
Yeah I use mPlayer quite frequently, as I tend to miss quite a lot of shows most of the time.
It opens up a stream in Windows Media Player however when it starts I get a 'Cannot play format' error, but if I press play it works
Quality is great, however I have two issues so far.
1) Sound level is usually low even when volume is up. I always have to use my earphones with the equaliser on Vocal Boost.
2) The video sometimes stops playing but the audio carries on or in some cases the video stops entirely. I then have to skip or go back a few to get it working again.
I'm running off my wireless 8mbps fibre optic, so it's not a connection issue. Might be how the video is processed or buffered.

cant play any video on stock gallery, help!

actually i hv suffered from this problem for a long time
it says "sorry, this video cannot be played" in any sense rom if i play any video on it. even those recorded by using camcorder. but i can play them by clicking the thumbnail on the camcorder (on the bottom left of the camcorder after recording)
but still, i can view videos by using other apps
pls help thx
More people got this issue. I had it once, and I think I know the solution.
I had a lot of videos on my HOX. Some of them could'nt be played since I don't have the right codecs/decoders on HOX(example mkv files). Weird thing was they show up in gallery, but every video I played stoped after max 10 seconds of playing (even those that were working before).
After that I deleted the video's which can't play due missing the right codecs. After deleting them I tried again, and suddenly all movies work again.
Don't know if this is the right solution, but it worked for me. And an other work-around is to use a other media player. MX Player does a solid good job.

[Q] Issues with skipping/pausing/starting .m4a

So I've been using Pocket Casts as a podcast player for a while now, and I've never had any issues until switching to the LG G3 (T-Mobile variant).
When I try to play any podcast with .m4a, the podcast will play normally, but the moment I try to use any seeking commands (forward, rewind, pause) the seeker will jump around.
For example, if I pause at 14:53, and then try to restart again, it could randomly jump to 1:10. The same thing happens when I try to forward or rewind.
Curiously, I've noticed that with rewinding and forwarding, they seem to prefer certain time spots. Like if I spam the rewind button, it will constantly go to a certain time period.
If you want to test this yourself, you can try downloading "The Rooster Teeth Podcast" or "The Patch Podcast" on any podcast player, as I know those two use the .m4a format.
To make sure it wasn't the player, I tried downloading podcast addict, which gave the same issue. I also downloaded an earlier episode of the Rooster Teeth Podcast which was an mp3 file, and it played with no issues.
Has anybody else encountered this issue, and does anybody have a fix?
I'd like to bump this seeing as I'm not the only one with this issue. I too tried using other podcast players to play the RT Podcast/Patch, all of them would skip ahead several minutes. They would also refuse to seek past the 45 minute mark or something around there.

Got the same problem with podcast addict. The developer wrote me, that the app is using the internal player. After testing the internal player with m4a files, i can confirm that the issue persist.
I also wrote the LG support about this issue and the answer was: LG does not official support m4a! WTF?
Alternative 1: Use 3. party player. But I didn't find a good one. Only VLC was playing the file but stops audio files if the screen is off.
Alternative 2: Use mp3 feed instead of m4a.

Video playback (youtube/plex) etc.

I have been having this problem on a few video playback apps. While watching a video the video freezes but the sound continues to play. fast forwarding gets it going again but happens again soon after. its mainly on apps thay stream videk. tested on both lte and wifi

No problems here. I also have flash player archived version installed for playing online video through the web browser: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk.
Do you have GPU 2D Rendering Checked in Developer Options? If so, uncheck that because it causes video choppiness. Other than that, not sure what to tell you except factory reset your device.

Problems with Podcasts Playback

Hello,
I'm using Pocket Casts as my podcast app on my Elephone. I have two problems:
1. It does not remember at which minute I paused the podcast
2. If I want to speed up the playback (1.1x - 1.3x) or use the "Volume boost" or "Remove Silence" option it stutters and is not useable anymore.
The thing is it happens with another podcast app too. But as I used my Galaxy Nexus it worked like a charm. I believe the problem comes from the phone. Has anybody the same issues with podcast apps?
I'm currently using the most recent stock rom on my Elephone.
I tried to switch on/off the special Elephone audio settings. No impact.

I can confirm your first problem and did some research on this, but it is hard to drill down. For me this does not happen all the time. Sometimes a reboot solves the problem for quite some time, sometimes not. I use BeyondPod podcatcher but also tried AntennaPod which is the same.
I think the problem is a faulty mp3 library or something similar, because I cannot reproduce this behavior with m4a (MPEG-4 Audio) files.
Regarding your second problem, I have only some stuttering when starting the podcast playback for up to 10 seconds, after that the playback is OK.

I tried podcast republic now and it works so far. They have special "Lab" settings in which you can activate soft decoding.
I have another question. Does anyone have some experience with podcast apps used with the Eragon rom. Did the behavior change? Was it fixed there?

Just for your information, I use CM12.1 by now and do not experience any problems with podcast playback.
