SGH-M919 can't establish LTE data - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hello, anyone
I have a T-mobile M919. I tried 2 TW ROMs, it gets LTE signal but can't establish data connection. Also, all signal drops when screen off. I also tried to reflash the modem, it didn't work. When it's on GE ROMs, it works fine.
Previously, I flashed some TW rom, it worked fine.
Any thought? Thanks a lot!

Are you on 4.2.2 bootloader with 4.3 MK2 modem or are you simply on 4.3 MK2? Sounds like you need to flash the 4.3 MK2 modem through Odin.

If you're on MDL baseband your bootloader should be 4.2 MDL version. Just update your modem only to mk2.

You definitely need to update your nodem. Just Odin flash the 4.3 MK2 modem.bin file and you won't have this problem anymore. Search for mk2 modem.bin, lots of forums on xda have them.

Check your upload and download speed, battery life, and dBm of signal, and compare it to the other modems.

I'm Rooted on 4.3 with CWM now I wanna go to 4.4.2 with the new modem so what the best way for me to do this without loosing anything? & with that unlimited tethering mod do I just flash that?
I'd flash the modem this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678774
Then pick a 4.4.2 ROM from the developers section.

I'm sorry to tell you this but if you are on the stock nb4 you cannot downgrade. Trying to downgrade will brick your phone. Did you take the OTA 4.4? How did you get 4.4?

I'm not sure if you can unlock with this method if you are on 4.4 it doesn't say. It only says you need to be on stock and its confirmed working.

This is technically incorrect information. While one may not officially be able to downgrade (first of all using Odin to flash the mdl tar file will not brick your device, simply reports a failed status) you can still root the device install a custom recovery and flash any of the 4.2.2 ROMs found in the development section.

Yes you can flash 4.2 jelly bean custom ROMs but that doesn't help his problem. He needs to sim unlock and at the moment we only have 1 guide for stock 4.2 and nothing newer.

you can still SIM unlock if you flash a custom 4.2.2 ROM. Also, you can simply flash the MK2 modem through Odin (there is a thread explaining how to SIM unlock on NB4 firmware) and then use the commands from there.

[Q] question before updating to wicked v10

hello, i have galaxy s4 tmobile, so i was wondering what do i need to do before updating to wicked v10?
i was reading around and ive found what that i need to upgrade my baseband and maybe my kernel as well
this is what i have right now
Android version - 4.2.2
Baseband version - m919uvuamdl
Kernel version - 3.4.5-gb6f925f-dirty
[email protected] #1
Build number - WICKED_v8
what do i need to update to v10 with no problems
thanks
I'm guessing you are already rooted so just flash the v10 ROM.

Wicked v10 comes with a different kernel that is better for performance. If you want a kernel for better battery life, just search and read different ones that you may like. You should also update your Baseband to NB4. It is the newest from tmo

yes i am rooted and i have wicked v8 installed
as far as kernel goes, the one it comes with is good enough for me, i dont want to mess with it
for baseband i will update to NB4, dose it matter if wicked v10 is mk2 based? so i should get mk2? or it will work with NB4
my other question is, do i need to do it before the flash or after?
thanks a lot, i really appreciate it
NB4 will give you better signal strength. You can flash via Odin before or after, it doesn't matter. Just make sure to flash it twice. After the first flash pull the battery, boot back into DL mode and flash again. Just search how to flash NB4 modem and get the file and instructions. Oh and v10 comes with a different kernel so remember the one you have now in case you don't like ktoonz kernel
