Hi,
I'm trying to bring my HOX back to stock, but can't seem to find a RUU fitting for the device. The version info is the following:
PS C:\adb> .\fastboot.exe getvar version-main
version-main: 3.18.401.1
finished. total time: 0.076s

My HBOOT is 1.39.0000. my CID is HTC__102. I can't seem to find a RUU for 3.18.401, only an OTA is available at http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Endeavor. When I try to find a Nandroid backup I can find some links on the collection thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 but the links are dead.
Does anyone know how I can get my phone back to factory settings?
Thanks in advance, guys!
Use another 3.18.401 nand backup, restore it, flash back the stock recovery and update the phone by official ota. After that you can relock the bootloader if you wish.

So restoring a nandroid backup doesn't require having the right CID?
It's more connected with main version. CID is also somehow connected to the main version. Do as Mr. Hofs said, and you will be fine.

Indeed what Mr [email protected] says. You can indeed restore a 401 nand from any cid, but it needs at least one official OTA to pull the cid back to your original.
So basically it's restore a 3.18.401 from any cid, then flash back the stock 3.18 recovery
This one works
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xzshnnuz3jdcodv/stock recovery 3.14.img
Then do at least 1 ota and relock the bootloader after that if you wish. Not necessary ofcourse !

OK, great news, thanks! I'll try it out tonight, and will post back with the results.

Good Day,
I am currently trying to go back on Stock and stumpled over this thread.
Unfortunatly I did no backup when I rooted and installed another Rom, but the Author states that I may use another one's Backup.
My CID is O2___102 and some kind User named treebill uploaded his O2___102 backup. So far so clear.
But
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
tells me my HOX is currently using 2.17.207.2 while the backup of treebill is 2.17.206.2.
In fear of bricking my device, I am not sure if I can use this backup with a lower Versionnumber. I did a quick search but couldn't find an answer. My HBOOT is 1.12.000 if that is somehow an information of interest.
And on another Point: If I may use this backup and successfully restore stock, will my bootloader be locked again?
Great Thanks in Advance to the noble Responders
Are you sure you got yourself the right versions ?
Also do
Fastboot oem readcid
Sure you wrote down the right version number here ?

This command delivers me <bootloader> DEBUG: cid: 02___102 which concurs with the cid of treebill.
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
tells me version-main: 2.17.207.2
And this h ttp://i.imagebanana.com/img/ww1dkc2n/cid.PNG is the backup I want to use (remove space in h ttp). It seems to be of an earlier version, so I don't know if I may use it.
That's kinda strange, I have seen the 207 software but it had CID 02__001
Ow and you can try the backup that is no problem, you will not brick your device ! The only thing is that the phone might not update !
And in this process you do not need to relock the bootloader !
You have 3 options.
1: try the 206 nandroid backup, flash back the stock 2.17 recovery and try to update. If it doesn't update ....no problem , go back to the latest backup
2: try to scoop up a 207 nandroid backup or RUU. But i didn't see no ruu with a 2.17.207 number
3: do a standalone firmware flash to lift your hboot to a JB one and flash a new JB rom of your choice
First of all: Thank you for your answer. I was busy studying so forgive me for posting this late.

If I understood right, I need the correct Ruu in both cases. I found this OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_O2_DE_3.14.207.27-2.17.207.2_release_2996435hle0dx8i1s01kza.zip File size: 350.92 Mb through google on roomyshare. The 02 DE looks to be the 02___102 cid, even through it is not really stated there.
I am a little unsure if this is the right thing. The 3.14.207.27 irritates me.
Its a ota file. Its of no use because its the official ota but it can't be flashed like a full ruu

Just one question, i updated my hox with Mike's non mooded odex rom, flashed stock recover and relocked the phone, now when i get a small update it updates normaly, but when today a system update has come (3.18.401 i think) it wont update, it get in recover, it start and i stops whit a red !. Any idea what it could be?
Mike told that it can be updated normaly with stock recovery and stock boot.img ?!

Unlock it, flash a custom recovery, install the stock nandroid backup !
Mount the sdcard as a mass storage device in the recovery to copy the files you need
Do this
Fastboot oem readcid
Fastboot getvar version-main
Post back please

So i found the nandroid backup in general, it shows both, the 3.14.401.27 and the 3.14.401.31 i need the one from the getvar command?!
Yes correct. The .31 is for the 1.39 hboot, you have the 1.36 hboot. Restore the nandroid completely and then flash back this stock recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ms7vd18vb9watr8/stock recovery 3.14.img
Then you get a small update that lifts the software to 3.14.401.31 and hboot 1.39. After that you can continue to update to 3.18 !

You can't run JB roms now ! First you need to update the bootloader. Are you on full stock then first ota all the way up to jellybean ! Otherwise return to stock first and update

At least the 1.29. The 3.14 is not going to work because of your low hboot. If you want to be certain you need to do a fastboot command
Fastboot getvar version-main
When the number matches your are good to go

Ah that's why a 1.29 does not work
I get you a ruu ....hold on will update this post shortly
Download this file
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...062-radio-112049013-release-251230-signedexe/
Put the phone in the bootloader and relock it
Fastboot oem lock
Then keep the phone in the bootloader and execute the ruu on the pc with a right click and select run as administrator
Should bring it back to full stock and start updating after that. If the phone does not detect any OTA update ..... Install this ruu then
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...62-radio-2120413520-release-275038-signedexe/
The same way as you did except locking the bootloader because it is already locked !

Yep with a ruu you lose everything, but on the otherhand it will be 100% stock. You can make backups with titanium backup or carbon .....
Edit : with a nandroid backup you will also loose everything because you must make a full wipe before restoring a nandroid backup.

I guess it happens because you are rooted. Use voodoo rootkeeper from the Play Store.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Nope root is not the issue, you can actually update a rooted phone as long as its stock and didn't touch the system.
You will automatically lose root after the update

mmmh, cmw backs up the entire rom not only the apps... so if you want to restore that backup be sure to full wipe the phone and then flash it
You can try this :
Unlock, flash the custom recovery....use this one
http://db.tt/oGDkMlwc it has ums + touch on the latest bases !
Then make a nandroid backup ..... format data and then restore the data from the older backup.....only the data, you can choose it with advanced restore options !
This way only the data, like apps will be restored to the new 3.20 based stock rom. Of it doesn't work you can go back to the clean stock nandroid backup.
Seeing as there is no 3.20 RUU yet is there anyway I can return to stock on a 3.20 base?
My CID is HTC__001
Yes with a nandroid backup
Ok thanks for that, do I need to relock the bootloader after the backup? Also do I need a 3.20 nandroid backup or can I use a 3.14 one?
No, you need to restore a 3.20.401 nandroid backup (assuming that's the one you are after) and flash back a 3.14 stock recovery. Then you are able to update with official ota's
Yes ideally I need a 3.20 backup, just looking for one now.

Thanks for that. So I restore the backup first, then flash stock recovery? Can I not flash my 3.14 RUU after that?

I'm looking to flash my unrooted One X, (Wifi signal has been dodge for a while, factory reset didn't resolve it). I'm the same HTC_001 3.20.401.1. Can I just drop the boot and recovery files in the root of my phone's storage then just boot into recovery mode and go from there?

No you can't do that. Is the bootloader unlocked ? If not you can't do anything. If it is is unlocked you can install an older stock rom based on 3.14.
