I thought I would be nice for developers to have a poll to see which version of android most s3 users run.
so they can see what is best for developing new mods, It is just a idea please let me know what you think :good:

I mean, at least in logical, most used ROM is latest one or two 4.1.2 firmware, and newer 4.2.2, because, mostly I think in this forum who were running leaked 4.2.1 will update it to 4.2.2

I think this thread should be in General Section
This is Themes and Apps section
And well, I am on leaked 4.2.2

4.2.2 is the best. smooth, fast and battery saver. :good:

there is no best or worst , always personal perception.
If you want to measure the Android versions, you maybe should also include the firmware versions. Nevertheless most devs upgrade their ROMs to the latest firmware versions anyway, be it 4.1.2 or 4.2.2.
I am running Liquid 4.2.2

yes, i agree with you. thats my personal perception. before this i only used stock 4.1.2, just after the leak was out, i flashed and find this 4.2.2 rom is very smooth compare with stock 4.1.2.
now i used custom 4.2.2 sotmax beta 5.
Miui note 2 edition...very smooth with sammy camera multiwindow and lot of good things

Devs are hardly likely to read Themes and Apps for a what rom build poll .
Devs build what they decide and users follow .
Poll like this is rapidly out of date with new builds .

It depends on the ROM you are trying to install.
Most ROMs will have specified in their post which firmware (4.1.2 or 4.2.2) they are using. You need to upgrade or downgrade according to that if you want to install that ROM.
Currently we have a lot of CM10.1 based ROMs like SlimBean, PACMAN, AOKP, Resurrection, CM10.1.3 etc, all of these are based on 4.1.2 so for using any of these you need to downgrade to 4.1.2 before you install them. We also have "GENNXT Superior ROM" which is based on 4.2.2, so you need to be on one of the 4.2.2 firmwares to install it.
Just read the instructions by the ROM dev in the first post of the ROM and you'll know if you need to be on 4.2.2 or 4.1.2 to use it.
Thnxx a lot biddy...

If ur phone status is normal and u can receive OTA, it will be depend on ur region firmware. If have then u can do the OTA.
Otherwise u will need to wait till the OTA available for ur country/region.

you can see here:
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/11/19...eives-official-android-4-3-jelly-bean-update/
but beware, if you do the update in 4.3 (with the last rom in 4.3), it's impossible to return in 4.1.2!
But you can with this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500823
Thank you for response. I checked link and seems it's pending for my device. Hope will be out soon

Heya guys im after upgradeing my android from gimgerbread to the latest android ver since i have a rooted handset im half way there i hears i can stop my network knowing if i have my phne teatherd to my laptop how do i do that?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using Tapatalk 2
the latest android version is kitkat - there is no kitkat for galaxy y nor is there a higher version than gingerbread that works on galaxy y (excluding the non fully working cm9) - so I dont know what you upgraded to
you can use pdanet to hide teather usage - there are a number of usb tether apps on the play store - search and see what works best for you
in future please post questions in the question and answer section!
Ok thanks im on gingerbread still was just wondering if i could upgrade to kitkat

no - as i said only gingerbread is available for galaxy y 5360
this is due to no drivers being released by broadcom for the device
