Enjoy!
Please post any questions in the main thread linked above!
Nice, will have to try it out in the morning.
Sweet. I have added all the hidden toogles in my rom, and this one makes em complete. Thanks bro
Thanks so much for this info!!! I've been wanting this toggle for a very long time. I do have one question. When I access my values folder in the decompiled SystemUI.apk, there is no "string"xml document to add the string name to. There is only an ärrays"folder inside of it. Why would that be? There are other "value" folders with the "res" folder that look to be for different languages and those have the "string"xml documents in them. Do I have to create my own string xml document in my existing values folder with the flashligh string name?? Thanks in advance!!

Woah that is odd.
Do two things for me 1) repost this question in the main thread so others won't repeat and 2) link me to your systemui.apk so I can take a look at it

VTS (virtuous ten studio). Once you learn how to use it, it's literally the best thing since android lol
You can even add public.xml ids without compiling/decompiling using the built-in resource manager (right click on project > open resource manager)

Thanks again for the recommendation. This tool is exactly what ive been looking for. I do have one question, if you dont mind. Im unable to compile my edited .apk. I installed the two framework apks, then decompiled the systemui.apk. I was then able to edit it, up to trying to compile the apk in order to get the public.xml files. Instead, the program just places the original, unmodified apk in the "compiled_apk" folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
@CNexus this is the error im getting.
Grab the original systemui.apk and see if it will decompile and recompile fine without any changes
@CNexus Nope, I still get an error. Im using Quickmod2.0
Ok then something is wrong with the apk itself, not the stuff you added
I'd try searching those errorsandd seeing what you can find

Layouts line 3 status bar already defined
Means you have that same line defined twice. Delete the duplicate and recompile.

Thanks! I am running salvage mod 1.1
ok. you might have to wait a bit for me to have a few minutes on my comp, but i'll get it done tonight. downloading salvagemod now.
ok, here it is. this isn't tested but it should work. tell me if it doesnt. should work with any recovery. the framework files and systemui were taken from stock salvagemod 1.1 btw. just tell me if there is anything else you need.
Works! Thanks!
So, I hate to ask for more, but could you also do the "darker" version of this?
The images are found here: http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/411/screenshotay.png
Looks like the green better matches the GB green used in SalvageMod

Thanks for posting this, I never knew about this thing before. Now I'm going to be spending all my time making new themes...lol. I already made a couple for my phone.
BTW....it's not nearly as complicated as you may think. You just pull the framework-res.apk out of you current ROM and upload it to the site and pick what mods you want. Then it gives you back a flashable zip with your new theme.

yea i've been bugging the dudes on the irc to tell me how to do it manually, but i see nothing. if i decompile framework-res.apk and go to public xml like you do in froyo, it's not as easy as changing values and adding images. you really need to do some coding, and then there's this systemui thing. man...
next time i'm on the irc, i'll try and find out for sure how to do it.

srry it took so long. ok, i came through rain, fire, lightning, and a bunch of sharp rocks to post this. not really the kitchen was just really glitchy and i had no time. but here it is. darker version f for salvage mod. same as before. tell me if it doesnt work yada yada.
So Salvage Mod just upgraded to 1.2, will the ZIP you posted still work?
idk. try it and find out. if not, then i'll make a new one.

Yea, it didnt work. Haha.

just reflash the rom. do you mind sending me framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ and systemUI.apk from /system/app/. it'd save me a download. thanks.

Firmware info
PDA:XWKI4

You can copy the file with a root explorer. You found it under: system\framework\framework-res.apk. Copy it to your sd card, so you can put it on your pc and upload it here.
thx for this

Here my framework!
Okay I make you a new framework file. Please make a backup before in CWM, so when it fail you can go back! I´m not pro or so- have not make it before and can´t test it on my own (other ROM 2.3.6).
I´m not guilty for damage or something!
When you really what to do it , you can override framework file with the root explorer. After a short timeout, the phone show up the new icon.

I have copied the file in system/framework...the phone has restarted and all ok!! Thank you!
Can you help me to create by my self? So i can make the framework-res.apk for the upcoming version of Android!
PS: thanks a lot also to siberian tiger who was beaten on time
I´m glad to hear that it is working.
I can tell you what I do, but it is a nooby way. I think siberian tiger is pro in modding and can tell you better what is to do. I don´t know extactly if some other files must modding. When you don´t do this i think you get only every 5 % a update or so.
So I make a easy workaround.
1) I go to the theme Kitchen and upload your file
2) I choose a Batterymod with %
3) Submit work to kitchen
4) New framework edit with new battery
5) Open winrar or something similar
6) Open the framework file and navigate to res\drawable-hdpi\
7) drag and drop the new selected battery skin in the folder and override them
8) finish and put it back to your phone
. Jearrr nooby way i know. But it works ^^.

DISCLAIMER: If the subforum and thread title are not enough for you, then let me tell you. This is for the sgs and the respective cm9 builds made for it. If you decide to flash this on any other phone or rom, or you decide to flash the package made for build 10 onto build 15, then don't come into the thread asking why your phone is stuck in a bootloop. Please take the time to read and make XDA a better place. Thank you and have a nice day.
The revert package will remove the mod by putting the original framework-res.apk from the rom back onto your phone. It is included in the folder with the update for each build.

I was looking at that last night and liked the pixelated text one, so I tried porting it from xhdpi to hdpi and it broke the buttons. I think it's just a problem with metamorph, though. The only problem is that it's in a completely separate file and I'm trying not to juggle too many projects at once and become overwhelmed when a new build comes out, so it's not something I really want to work on right now. However, anyone with winrar should be able to drag the image files right into the systemUI.apk as soon as they're ported without a problem after they're ported to hdpi (which I can do and hope to get out in a day or two.)

minimal white.mtz
95 icons so far but i will make more, not all default icons that come with miui are covered yet but I will work hard in the next couple days to make it happen
Icon Request
If any of you guys or girls will like to have a more complete icon pack I will take any request, all you have to do is find the process name:
how to get the process name
1st way
1. got to https://play.google.com/store
2. search for app you need and click it
3. for example root explorer:
in the url bar you can see the process name which is the blue, it wont be blue on your browser but it will start with (com.)
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=[COLOR="Blue"]com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer[/COLOR]&feature=search
2nd way
1. download SystemPanelLite Task Manager from the market
2. open the specific app you need
3. press home button
4. go to SystemPanelLite
5. press the desired app name
6. you can see the process name
3rd way
Use a file manager like root explorer to navigated to /data/data and look up the process name, the only thing is by doing it this way you wont see a picture of the app so is a little hard to guess which is which

Yes but you need to know how. Its a completely different method. Just Google how to make a theme in cm7 and you might be able to figure it out. I'm trying to do one in cm9 right now as well

Hello folks,
Small tutorial to show you how to add your own logo in recent apps window, like the screenshot below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
1. decompile SystemUI.apk
2. navigate to SystemUI\res\layout
3. download this modified xml and copy it here, replace the original file
4. now build you own logo / image and name it "xlogo"
5. copy your logo to SystemUI\res\drawable-xhdpi
6. compile SystemUI
7. done
* You can use anything .. maybe a picture for your gf? :laugh:

Hi all, i followed the steps in the OP, but once my phone reboots, i press recents and keep getting "systemui has stopped". Any ideas?
I've linked my systemui.apk and the xlogo.png if someone wouldn't mind taking a look and pointing out where I'm going wrong.

Bro, sure you will get SystemUI FC
You copy / paste the code to your SystemUI, you should decompile SystemUI / add your changes / compile SystemUI
