I have a question regarding the meenova USB microSD adaptor. - Nexus 7 (2013) Accessories

Can it be mounted without root access on the 2013 Nexus 7, and can I directly access the files on it without some third party app? If I have to copy files over to the internal storage I might as well just copy them off my laptop.
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I searched and couldn't find a definitive answer.

yes it can be mounted without rooting on the Nexus7 2013, but the only way to access & play files is with a 3rd party app...here is some info for you.

Thanks! That was exactly the info I was looking for.

[Q] Stop Erasing My SD Files!

Newbie question, forgive me if it's dumb. I have a Galaxy Tab T310 that I just rooted because I wanted to be able to get around the SD card write issue. BUT, the real problem I have is that I want to simply copy movies from my desktop to the Tab via a USB cable but the Tab keeps erasing the files. It doesn't erase the directories I create on the SD, it just erases the files IN the directories and often the subdirectories. Sometimes it erases them as soon as I copy new files to the SD, sometimes when I reboot the phone. But it always erases them.
I'm assuming this is related to the Android security effort to "protect me," but I don't know how to keep it from happening. Will one of the root apps like SDFix keep this from happening? Again, I'm not talking about apps being able to write files to the SD, I'm just talking about me being able to write files to the SD using a cable and then KEEPING the files from being erased by the Tab. Thanks for the help!
Auto-delete files
Can anyone point me toward another forum where I might find an answer to this question? I thought this would be the best place but apparently I am the only person who has ever seen this problem. This makes me wonder whether there is another problem with the tablet....

You might try downloading an SD Card Fix app from the Play store. There are several of them. KK messed up the ability to copy to the Ext SD card.
If you're rooted, then download ES File explorer app. Run it and hit your menu button. Scroll down the menu and make sure Root Explorer is checked.
That's all I can think of that might help

[Q] Dumb Question Of The Day: write to external mSD

Dumb Question Of The Day: I put a 64G mSD card into my Kit Kat 600. I don't know how to get data to it. I tried my file manager (ES File Explorer) but it tells me I can't copy to the card because of operating system limits. (I am trying to download videos etc from both Dropbox and Google drive). I thought it was only data created by apps that could not have a "save" directory on the external. What good is the card ?! I am clearly missing something here.
- I will not root yet. Any other help from you folks?
p.s. I can "see" the card with some system files on it.
Are you rooted?

No. Not rooted. I would like to avoid rooting for a while.
It's a work around not a true fix. http://youtu.be/tJHhrJfrYJw

Need help downloading straight to external storage

I've been trying to figure out how to get uTorrent(or any other android torrent client) to download content straight to a microSD card I have connected through an OTG reader. I'm able to move the files from internal to the SD after it's already downloading but unable to get it to go straight there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also I'm rooted and running Android 6.0.1
It's not the answer you're looking for but your N7 could be used to control uTorrent running elsewhere (open source).

Yeah I've used it before. I was just wanting to download large files to my tablet since I can use it on a separate data plan as my PC.

FireTV Stick 4K - Write permission on external storage

Hi guys, really like the forum and the posts, big fan for many years so here comes my first post because I couldnt find any solution
FireTV Stick 2.gen can write on external storage, 3rd party apps dont need extra permission, but the FireTV Stick 4K does not give write permission.
I tried the same OTG cable and same USB drive with 64GB storage on both devices, but the 4K is not allowing apss to write on the drive.
The only app that has permission to write/delete from the USB Drive is a downloaded app from the Amazon store, for example TotalCmd.
Is there any way to grant permission to all or some apps without Root?
Thnx in advance for all replies!
You have to make a folder on your USB like "Android" after that you have rights to write into that folder a sub folder "Data" there you can write other folders for apps (used in example for kodi)

how does the workaround work? What does it allow you to do? I wanted to get PopcornTime to work but since it needs to download the movie or show there isint enough internal space and it won’t write to external usb.. would this workaround work for this?

Adm is the way forward with the 4k external storage situation, I use it on mine. It let's you choose internal or external (usb otg) if you look on techdoctoruk he has a Lite modded version.
ADM still wouldnt let me choose external storage? Is this still possible?
I'm beyond frustrated with Amazon their crappy Fire Sticks they have destroyed a good thing !
Their updates have destroyed every one of my fire sticks in my possibilities of writing on my own hard drive which is wrong !!!!!!
I paid for the internet I paid for the Fire Sticks and I cannot do nothing I want to do with them. Greed my friends has an will destroy all that is good! Done with amazon...
Maybe I will have any luck with streaming box. This so sad.

Moving apps to USB storage and Official Updates, best way to do it?

Hi everyone,
On my 4k firestick and my firetv 3rd gen (dongle) I’m using an otg cable, and an external usb drive formatted using ADB partition command. In order to move the apps from the internal to external storage I either use de ADB move command or the MiXplorer, the downside on using the MiXplorer is that you have to copy the app to the downloader folder, uninstall it and then reinstall it from the folder and it goes straight to the usb partition, but this method looses al the login info, not a major drawback but nerveless a nuisance.
When it comes to update the apps from amazon’s official appstore we run in to an error if the app is located in the external drive, so the solution is either move it back to the internal storage, update it and move it back either by uninstalling it and downloading it again from the Appstore, moving with ADB command, or using the downloader app to find the newest version and install it over the old one, although this last method works it is prone to errors due to choosing the wrong apk version listed on those alternative sources (apkmirror and others).
So, my question is if there is an app with a graphic interface like MiXplorere that allows to move the apps to and from the USB storage in a similar way as the ADB command line? Is there a different method that I’m missing?
Thanks in advance,
London

Hey,
Not sure if you've tried apps2sd Pro?
To use this this app you will have to set partitions on the extsdcard USB first.
If I remember correctly one partition is made ext4 and one FAT32.
The ext4 partition becomes apps adopted storage when mounted and the FAT32 partition becomes normal storage for downloads etc.
Hope this helps
Regards
Unfortunately, Apps2sd Pro only works in rooted devices, not the case here.
Any how thanks for the suggestion, let's if there is some other solution in this line.
Cheers,

Hi,
Apologies I guess I just assumed you were rooted as most on here use rooted devices.
The only other (known) way is described here :

This post will explain how to Increase Storage on Firestick & Fire TVs. The Amazon Firestick is the most popular streaming device available on the

Apart from that I know of no other way to use adopted storage on fireos without root.

This is basically the procedure that I used to format the USB drive, but to move the apps he suggests to use ES file explorer, that was banned due to security concerns, so I was looking for an alternative...
Thanks again for the patience and attention.
