Hello all... I have the Samsung T- 315, with phone and MMS.
when I click on the attachment for the text messaging, I do not get the option to 'record audio', as I do with my other galaxy phones.
Im asking those with the 311 model if you have the 'record audio' option?
thanks....
if so, id like to talk to you about getting a copy of the voice recorder apk.
thanks again.
all replies are welcomed and encouraged.
I do have an SM-T311 and record audio option is available under MMS. How do I extract the apk file?

Thank you, gkvidhu1979 for your respone and offer to help! I give thanks as well to your profile.
Here's how I would do it..
1) goto the Play Store / apps/ and find 'root browser' and install it..
(You DO NOT have to be rooted for it to work, and you can always un-install it later)
2) when installing 'root browser' it will ask you to d/l additional things, so.. go ahead and ok that too.
3) I would re-start the tab after the install..
4) after restart, tap on the Root Browser icon to start the app.
5) first screen, scroll down to the 'system' folder and tap
5) on top is the 'app' folder... tap that
6) next screen, scroll down till you find the 'audio?/sound?/voice? recorder (whatever it's called) apk.
7) long press on the apk and choose 'copy' from the pop up menu.
8) now at this point you'll have to paste it somewhere where you can access it when you attach to an email..
I'd put it in the "Download" folder in the sdcard folder of the first screen....
so after 'copying' the apk, tap the blue 'up' arrow near the bottom left a few times to go/back to the first screen of folders (Home)
Scroll down to /sdcard...then /Download (tap) then "Paste".. a copy of the apk should be pasted in your Download folder.
PS.. If right under the recorder .apk is the same name but an .odex file.....
I believe that I'll need that matching odex too..both..
whewwwww....
Now you can email that to me... or up-load it somewheres... and link it here.. or what is good..
it should be somewheres about 5 or so megs..
PM me when you've got it sorted.. and I'll Pm back with my email..ok?? Thanks again, gkvidhu1979
***Edit****
If any-1 can think of a better, easier, foolproof way of copying an APK, please chime in.
And your thoughts if this method will actually work out right.
thanks again

Hi! I actually meant to ask the location of the apk file. Used my ES file explorer to copy the apk. Please do let me know your email I'd so that I can send the file to you. The title of the file is sound recorder and it is just 128 KB in size.

Bump.... anyone know how I can get this aplk installed on the T315??
Do I have to be rooted?? thanks...
Im bumping this thread because the 128 kb file apk that __gkvidhu1979________ sent me just wont install.
I believe that it is way to small to be a valid apk.
I need the voice/sound recorder apk from an 8" T-311 so I can install it on my 315.
my 315 didnt come with it and I have no option under the attachments for mms to record audio..
thanks to all who reply!
I have an sm-t311 8", but i can't too record sound directly. I have to record by sound recorder in-android app, then paste the file audio as attachment. Sorry for the English but i am italian

PS: Does someone know when there will be the first Custom Roms for this Phone because than it would be worth it to wait?
I'm having the same problem as well; accidentally deleted--frankly I don't recall doing it--my stock browser, which is my preferred browser.
Can anyone point me to where I can download it from? Or upload the .apk here? I downloaded the improved deodexed browser from another thread but am not able to install it despite changing the permissions and using root explorer. If I save the browser from Galaxy S, will it be the same?
TIA.

Hi
I Have A Sense Rom On Desire Hd No Problems Yet, I Just Need To Change The Notification Bar Icons ( Battery, Wifi signal...) I Would Like Them To Look Like Cyanogenmod. I Just Need To Know Is It Possible And How To. Can Someone Help Me Please I Like Sense Rom But I Want To Change The Notification Bar Icons.
Thanks For Your Help
There are many Themes in the "Themes and Apps section" for most DHD roms. Or you go to http://uot.dakra.lt/ and make your self a nice theme there.
You can change everything you want on this site.
There is also an app in the market called "metamorph"
But you need to be rooted and have CWM recovery.
Always make a backup of your rom before you flash any theme because you can get into bootloop sometimes and so you aleay can go back to stock.
Sorry for my bad english

I do this from my PC. Open the downloaded Rom (.zip) with winrar or 7zip search for the files you need (use search button and copy & paste the filenames from browser) and copy them out of the .zip file. Then you go to the browser (on PC) and upload them. You will get a number and have to wait till it's finish (5min - 1hour). When it's finish you can download it as a .zip file and flash it in recovery.
I never tried to upload it from the phone.
It's very simple.

ONLY FOR XXKP1 AND XXKP2 ICS LEAK!
i have uploaded this 3 file: Mms.apk, Contacts.apk , and Dial.apk from a standard ics rom. This three file doesn't have touchwiz customization and have ics standard graphics, so with these file you have the galaxy nexus graphics for the contacts, phone and message application. This three file works only with the leak firmware xxkp1 and xxkp2
STEPS FOR INSTALLING (You need root!)
You can use adb or a file explorer that have root access.
With adb, you have to do adb push.. adb push filename.apk /system/app
.. or if you don't want to use adb, do with a file explorer. just copying these 3 apk to your sd card, and copy it in system/app
i have also included Mms.apk, but unfortunately it crash when open a conversation, so don't use mms.apk for now!!
Changelog 20.12.2011 :
Unfortunately i found that the bug in mms.apk is caused by an error in the dabatase file of the conversation.
When i try to open a conversation, the logcat say me fatal error caused by an sql error. This problem can be solved in a future rom by samsung, because i think that samsung modify the method how this database allocate the message in memory.
DON'T ADB PUSH THE MMS.APK, IT DOESN'T OPEN CONVERSATION IN MESSAGE!!! THESE APKS ARE ONLY FOR XXKP1 AND XXKP2.

You probably wont be able to add any, you can change the current ones by editing the apk, signing it then installing it. Once you open up the apk (with 7zip, winrar etc.) look inside the drawable-hdpi folder. Thats probably where the emoticons are kept.
I can help if you need.

Adding icons to whatsapp
Hey Guys has anyone tried adding new icons into the default whatsapp?
Or do the modded versions allow adding additional GIF'S to be added to the instant messenger?
Thanks
yes i have tried it, but it's useless since the recipient of the emoticon should have the "moded" version too, so that he could see the emoticon
Just wanted to add that Ive noticed the Iphone has new icons and I can view them on my phone which dont have those icons :/

I used 'Formatter' to rename (whatsapp) .apk file into .zip did required changes (replaced one .png smiley file) & again renamed it into .apk
But then, I'm not able to install it (even after uninstalling previous version). An error saying 'Application not installed' shows.
How can I modify .apk files (in terms of replacing only the smiley image files) & repack it into proper .apk file so that I'll be able to install it without any error?
Please help me..

Good idea, but not practical
In order to install an apk, it must be properly signed and with a password that only the developers know. If you own the app though, you will still need to to decompile and recreate the apk structure by turning the directories of the zip into an android structure, since the compiling will change pretty much everything.
Worst part of it all, if you somehow manage to change and install the app, only you will be able to see it since only the apk installed on your phone has those custom emoticons.
Cheers :good:
how do I put emoticons on viber /whatsapp for sell
Just get your friends to use wechat, has all the emos in the world. Whatsapp is crap

I've accidentally deleted accountsandsyncseetings app using Titanium backup on my Galaxy-Y. To restore it, I've copied accountsandsyncseetings.apk at /system/app folder using 'root explorer', but I'm not seeing 'Account and Sync Settings' option in Settings yet.
After looking at /system/app folder, I realized that each apk has a corresponding odex file. Do I need the ODEX file for accountsandsyncseetings? If yes, where do I get it.
Information:
Model: GalaxyY (India)

Silvane already told. If you want too much specifics - download the odex file and copy it to your sd card. Now open root explorer and select rw mode on top. Now goto sd card and find where you kept the odex and copy it. Now go back and open system/app and paste it here. And i assume you have the apk of it already in the system/app folder. Now restart. If it does not come, make a cwm backup (you must have upto 300 mb of free space - it is advised but 200 will also do). After backup you can restore. You will get it back.
