I was wondering if anybody ever tried this Saferoot method with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) P60x
This method was published after the latest update for P60x in november 2013.
This rooting process should work with a wide range of Android devices, particularly those running Linux Kernel before 3.5.5 (which most Android 4.3 ROMs use.)

f.e. Motorola RAZR HD
Well, the most important phrase is
This exploit will NOT set the Knox Warranty Void flag. It will set the "Custom" flag, but that's nothing to worry about.

Link not working
Anyway, thanks
haven't heard about this before

I don't know about this but be aware once you root or flash the device you are not gonna triangle away back. ( at the mean time)
Is anyone brave enough to try this on their device and report back?
Edit: reading through the thread posted, it has been mentioned that this won't work for the GN3, so I highly doubt it will work for ours. Too bad.
To bad, sh**
Do you have a link, please?

Here is where they say it doesn't work on note 3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48749875&highlight=note+3#post48749875
however it seams that it is somewhat safe to try. Can someone try, and report back?
I can verify that saferoot does not work:
Code:
setsockopt() failed: Bad address.
this device is not supported.
ie the kernel exploit is patched in this version.
sm-p605 with mj9 firmware.

I get the same thing with sm-p600 mj4 firmware. Really wish someone could get this rooted with knox 0x0. At least you have a root method on p605 that accomplishes that.
Any news on this root method or any method that works and keeps knox 0x0?
Towelroot works.

I can't find any statements about the bootloader being locked or unlocked on Sprint, only that Verizon's is locked. Does anyone know for sure? I don't want to get stuck on a phone I can't modify.

Well sprint hasn't done it, and for sure Samsung doesn't do it, so I'm gonna go ahead and say no its not locked. Verizon is a **** that way.
There is already root for this device. Check the original development thread

Root and bootloader unlock are two different things. I havn't check the dev section but from what I heard the root was for the pre-release ROM, since then Sprint have change the firmware and the current root method doesn't work.
As far as the bootlocker concern, getting bootloader unlock means you can install custom ROM which have different kernel. Say you want a custom rom with Android 4.2 earlier than Sprint release or stuff like cifs module or overclock and etc, then you would need bootloader to be unlocked on the phone.
boot load is unlocked and root is for todays release. chain and i worked on it all night for yas.

Exynos source?
Does the Note 2 have the Exynos source out? Aka do developers have full access to the Exynos processor?
Or will there be problems for custom roms? (I heard without the source custom roms would be buggy or not full featured)

Why don't you just stick with the stock Rom and root it with xposed framework?

Ill be getting the LTE version. I hope it still 4.1.2 since as Ive read here in the forum, 4.2.2 has an offset Spen bug right? How to root using the xposed framework? Does framaroot works for our device?

You need to root using cf-auto-root. Xposed framework is an app using which you can make a lot off cool customizations to the tablet. Framaroot does not work with Note 8.

Hey guys,
Just got my P605 in a store here in Portugal, and even though it is awesome as it is, I can't live without root xb
I know I'm going to trip Knox eventually, so off to the point:
My firmware version, according to *#1234# is as follows
AP: P605XXUBMJ9
CP: P605XXUBMJ4
CSC: P605ATOMBL1
The thing is, according to the original thread of Universal Root de la Vega (if I understood it correctly), I should search in SamMobile or google for my CSC, but I can't find it anywhere. I noticed, however, that there's a Portugal(TMN) version available in SamMobile, and TMN is my carrier, so I'd like to know if is there any problem in doing the URLD procedure with a "different" (I suppose its a different firmware, I'm coming from a Nexus device which is much simpler to root when compared to Samsung, or any other brand for that matter xb) version, like the one I mentioned above (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=22912)
Thanks in advance for all your answers
PS. Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I didn't find the answer anywhere and that's why I asked... If that's the case, please point me in the right direction
PS2. I'm already assuming that I'll trip Knox, if there's anyway that I won't, even better

Just flashing another firmware doesn't trip KNOX does it I mean, as long as I don't modify it or try to downgrade...

That's right, as long as you aren't trying to downgrade bootloaders, replace kernel or recovery with custom ones, Knox will play nice.... Just find the firmware you want and flash it with PC ODIN....
If you're using ODIN 3.09 the single firmware.tar file goes in AP... If it's a broken up rom just follow the pieces - ap in ap, csc in csc etc....
Older versions it's PDA...

My suggestion is why don't you use the other rooting method by ChainsFire (CF auto root)
it works like a charm.

He bought it from a certified samsung store, but the problem is that this is a variant especially made for china
since they are not allowed to use youtube nor facebook and the list goes on...
Even when we installed the playstore via APK it crashes instantly. Should I try Custom Roms?
You can try to install Gapps for kitkat 4.4.2 from https://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/gapps/ this will install the standard google apps including playstore.
