Anyone know of any cases that have a cutout for the dimple? Preferably TPU.. but I'm surprised I haven't been able to find any. I have a Moto X and it makes for such a nice feel. Got the G for my father-in-law and can't bear to rob him of the experience!
Can't you just cut it out yourself?

You can get the Grip shell which is an alternative to a TPU and has the dimple molded in.
does motorola ship grip shells internationally?
how can i get one if i'm stayin in asia. there is nothing in amazon also.
The DIMPLE rules!!

Has anyone found a good gel case yet? I hate that my plastic one always causes the phone to slide slightly open in my pocket so im leery of buying something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Blk-Silicone-Gel-Skin-Cover-Case-Motorola-Droid-2-/330525803391?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4cf4df837f
I do need a new case though as mine is wearing out. For my touch pro 2 I had a case that was silicone but was not sticky. If it's difficult to get out of my pocket im not going to be happy. Anyone got a solution for the picky guy?
Case Mate Gelli.
I usually hate gel / silicon / rubber cases but this one is great. A perfect fit, slim, not slippy and don't collect fluff in my pocket. Comes with a screen protector too.

That looks like what I'm looking for but it doesn't seem they make the "gelli" for the droid 2.
I have an empire silicon case that I got off of amazon, doesn't feel too bad in the hand and offers great protection, I just don't like how loose-fitting it feels, although its not loose fitting

Got my Pdair black aluminum open face case from Pdair in HK the other day and like it quite well. Had one of the Speck plastic jobs before but feel safer now. The Atrix in the Pdair fit nicely into the Maxpedition belt holster I use to carry it around.
FWIW that's my story and I'm stickin to it....
Can you post a pics?
I was looking to buy it but i don't understand how much i have to pay for shipping it in Italy :/
Quick google search produced this. www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=32707

So the outside shell is actual metal? Looks pretty nice, though I'm not big on the hinges the way they are, but I am tempted to check one out.
Looking to get the slimmest case I can. What's the best slim hard case? I had the ringke slim for my nexus 5 and liked it. Looking for something like that for my Moto x. Thanks.

incipio feather
http://www.amazon.com/Incipio-MT-237-Feather-Motorola-Moto/dp/B00E4207U8 ive been using this. great slim case.
I used the Incipio Feather for the past 2 years and loved it, but decided to give one of these a go. They are both the same just with a different name sticker. Build quality seems similar to the Feather. Overall, very happy.

I got the black smoke one they have on the Motorola site. I think its made by Incase. I found it on amazon for cheaper so I bought it there. Its not really black and more like clear smoke. I have the dev edition so it looks good and you can still see through the back and it has that soft touch feel that the ringke slim has on my galaxy nexus. I also like that it does not cover the M dimple on the back.

Do you have a link? I don't see the case you described on either Motorola's or Amazon's site.

I'm using the Anker one and I like it a lot. Nice texture, and it barely adds any bulk to the phone.:good:

I have the same one and I like it a lot but I miss the dimple
The power support shell is slimmer than the in case and comes with an anti scratch coating. The shell is nice in that there are no seams on the inside so it has less chance of scratching your phone. Haven't had the chance to really test it as I'm waiting for my moto x replacement but I'll snap some pics afterward. If you are into the hard minimalist case big don't want to introduce scratches, this seems the best option for now.

Received Anker case. Despite being sandy texture, the case is very slippery.
It also does not protect all corners. Highly disappointed, because its look is very nice.
Why don't all cases have the moto indentation on the back confuses me.
i bought both the poetic pallete and the bear motion cases. of the 2, i like the bear motion better with the grippier texture. However, that said, neither fit my phone well at all and won't stay locked into place. YMMV
I have bought the anker sandpaper, incipio feather, poetic, as well as two bumper cases from some HK-based vendor. Of the 3 minimalist "cases", I use the incipio the most. Truth be told, the poetic has a better (but nearly identical) texture to it, but the bottom is shaped in such a way where it digs into my small finger when holding it (I have my finger running parallel along the very bottom). If the incipio kept the dimple, it'd be my daily driver. I use the bumper cases more often than not and whenever I do grab one of the minimalist ones, it's always the incipio.

Wow, I noticed the same thing with the poetic case... Very uncomfortable

I have the Incipio Folio which includes a feather. Basically, you have a the feather case, and then you can snap that into a wallet style flip case. The only gripe I have about the feather is it contours to the phone too well... If you have the phone on a flat surface it just spins and flops around if you poke at it.
Looking for a new moto x case. I am looking for decent protection. I currently have a case mate naked case which isn't bad but I wouldnt mind something slightly heavier duty. I was interested in the Griffin reveal. Tell me which cases you like best and post pics if you want
Thanks

I have a Candy Shell Grip case by Speck I bought from Motorola's website when they had the 30% deal. Dual layer protection. I like it a lot better than the Incipio case I had previously. The Candy Shell case is a little harder to get on and off but overall it just feels better. Only issue is depending on the type of head phones it's a little tricky to plug in.

How slippery do you find that case when holding it in the hand though? I've had my eye on that case

I bought two of the bumper cases from Amazon and I am very pleased with them. Another user reviewed them here. Moto X Bumper Case Review.
As indicated in the other gentleman's review the case does an adequate job and protecting the corners and does add enough of a bezel to stop the front and back of the phone from touching the surface. If you are a minimalist like me this was the best option.
Slick Shell Bumper Case for Moto X
For $6.99 it was worth it.
I don't want a bumper. I need more protection than that

The siedo dilex case looks pretty good also. Anyone try that ?

I'm using a Trident Kraken AMS. Like an otter box, but much nicer build quality. Trident makes 5 cases for the moto x with varying degrees of protection/bulk. The kraken also disassembles into a slim slip on case. Check them out, been my favorite case on my last 3 phones.
Tridentcase.com
And their customer service is top notch.
I don't like the huge corners on the Kraken AMS, but i like the Aegis Case

The PureGear Griptek case I reviewed here is my favorite: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563886
Have the Otterbox Commuter and it is going back. Too hard to put on/take off, and the buttons are horrible. The PureGear looks good, but I recently discovered the Amzer Pudding. Have had great results with them in the past so I have one on the way... will report back when received.

I don't think it's all that slippery. It has a real nice feel to it. Glad I bought it. The case also has the extensions on the buttons like an Otterbox. Besides the A-Case I had for my GS3 and GS4 this is my favorite case.
Still liking the Aegis better

I didn't realize trident made cases for the moto x. I'll have to check them out. I really wish A-Case made some.
Are Trident cases usually pretty good?

How would you compare it to a commuter protection wise ?

I have a commuter case and love it. It is a little hard to take off but I don't need to really ever do that.

I think the Candy Shell offers the same protection. It's all one piece. It's also a little tricky to get on and off.
As for the Trident cases, I've never used one so I couldn't comment on them.
I picked up the Otterbox Commuter case in all black and I like it so far. It seems to offer a good amount of protection without TOO much bulk. It is a little large, however.
Found the Griffen reveal on sale for $10 so I picked it up. Its pretty nice, but I wouldn't mind more protection

I have the supcase in blue and frosted clear back. I love this thing. Doesn't add much bulk and already survived a drop with no damage. It hit the corner and bounced, then landed on it's face.
Has anyone on here used the Ballistic case.

I think I'll order the case I will post on here when I receive and put up a few pictures.
I use Ballastic cases! They are amazing and very durable. I highly suggest them.

Good to know, question though does it have a screen guard like the otterbox defender does. I prefer it not to.
I just bought the Ballistic SG case yesterday, will report back when it arrives. I already have a TPU and a heavy duty case so I was looking for a mid range protection.

No it doesn't have a screen protector.
Some things I like about the case:
1. Phone seems pretty well protected but I can't tell you for certain because I haven't dropped my phone yet.
2. Assembly / disassembly is rather simple.
3. No screen protector
4. Cut outs leave a lot of space so accessing the headphone jack and charging port is easy.
Things I don't like:
1. The back of the case is rather slippery.
2. The rubber on the corners is somewhat loose, which could be a problem if it loses elasticity.
I think the Trident Cyclops case is better than the Ballistic in most areas. However, I'm using the Ballistic regularly because the the adapter on my headphones won't fit in the headphone port using the Trident case.
My Ballistic SG case came in today, fits great, nice wide cutouts and a matte texture on the back so its not slippery.

My case came yesterday, it is a great. It fits very well, buttons are very easy to access w/o getting pressed inadvertently. It is not slippery at all either. To me there are only two downfalls, one being that it covers the Moto dimple and the other being that the lips are a little tall on the front making the quick camera swipe a little tricky but still doable.

I found the Ballistic case for the Nexus 5 to be fairly slippery on the sides, but less so on the back. Is the Ballistic case for the Moto X the same (lightly rubberized on the back only)?
Yes the sides of the Ballistic SG case are hard plastic and slick compared to the back. Case is not slippery though.
