Is there camera lens protector on LG Optimus G? - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello again,
Today I noticed that my camera lens is scratched and I tried to peel something off of it (feels like not a glass but plastic) but it didn't come off. So I would like to know if there is some protector on it or Im just damaging it?

You're probably just damaging it. There just was a thread about polishing the camera lens. I also have scratches on the lens and tried to remove something that seemed like some kind of a protector but I failed.

In my case it was really a plastic protector. Luckily got it off after 5 minutes of trying to peel it.

Is the camera lens made of glass?
I really don't want to put a protector on it fearing it would alter photos.

I'm pretty sure you won't find a protector that covers the camera. Both my front and back protectors go around the camera.
fairly sure the camera lens is glass- mine already has two small chips in it. Not happy about it, as this is my first of 5+ phones to have anything like this happen to the camera.
Doesn't seem to effect the images, but i am still not pleased.

There is a company that offers a protector for the lens. I forgot which it is, but 1 does have it.

It's the Martin Fields one, 99% sure
sorry to revive this thread but is there anyone that knows for sure if the camera lens cover is glass of plastic? just curious because i have some scratches on mine that i was going to try to buff out with a plastic-x headlight scratch remover.
this stuff works great on hard plastic and just wanted confirmation before applying it to a glass cover. thanks

I don't think buffing is a good idea ...
yea i just have some scratches on the lens cover and was curious of the material. figure if i did try to use the plastic-x i may do more harm then good but was just curious. a little ocd. i guess if they get significantly worse i can always replace the rear housing. thanks

Camera lens protector

I have tried searching, perhaps I'm looking for the wrong thing. But I'm looking for a "screen protector" for the camera lens. My one already has some very fine scratches on the lens and I'd like to put something over it which can be replaced. I don't want the image quality to degrade in 6 months. This happened on my desire but of course I could just replace the back case. I know I can put my phone in a case and I do have a double dip flip case but I don't always want to carry it in the case.
Any ideas?

My realook screen protector (which I am happy with, even though it was hard to get on) came with lense protectors. At first I thought they were just excess plastic circles from production, then I realized they fit perfectly over the camera lense. They are kind of a pain to apply, scotch tape is your friend for repositioning them.
Get a fish eye for the phone. The little round magnet will keep the lens from resting on anything and getting scratched. Plus, you can take cool pictures when you want.

I used to use Martin Fields Overlay for my HOX, it comes with a protector for the lens. Only issue i had with that screen protector was that it was a little thick and it left a rainbow effect on the screen but in terms of clarity of screen there was no difference or interference. THey make the same protector for the HTC1.
Z
picked this up and cut some out from old screen protectors I had. works great. 3/8" is a good fit.

i noticed when i try to cut them out with scissors or a blade the edges don't stick well. this cutter makes a clean cut and all edges stick to the lens.

[Q] LG G3 Laser auto focus scratches

It's been a month since I bought the LG G3, and I have been using it with the LG quick circle case. While cleaning my phone today I noticed some micro scratches on the laser auto focus which are visible at a certain an angle. Although this has no effect on the auto-focusing speed, but I am worried that this might cause a problem later on, as those scratches might cause laser distortion.
Are there any ways to remove those scratches( I have tried cleaning it alcohol, but they are still there)?

You can use plastic polish to remove fine scratches. Take the back cover off. Use blue painters tape to tape around the laser lens. Apply plastic polish with cloth. Let it haze over. Buff lens with clean cloth or micro fiber cloth.
Same principle as restoring plastic automotive headlights or acrylic fish tanks.
Isn't there some kind of a protective coating over the lens?

The camera lens might have a protective coating, but I don't think that the laser auto-focus has the same coating, If there were a protective coating it would've been gone by rubbing alcohol.

Actually, the camera lens is made of glass ( not gorilla glass). It can crack, as some users have experienced already. If the laser lens has any protective coating at all, it would not have scuffed so easily. I use a Spigen Slim Armor case on my G3 which protects the camera, laser and flash lenses from scratches when putting the phone on its back. I use a Tech Armor ballistic glass screen protector but that may be OT since the screen is gorilla glass.

Rear camera glass lens scratched badly

Hey guys i have notice just one day out of my regular case my rear camera glass lens is scratched really. not a big issue as camera app does not capture scratched line but still how is it this easy to be scratched. also searching for replacement parts and tutorial how to change lens

ok it happen to me now, i realise the scratch only happen after i remove the screen protector. i suspect that the anodizing of protector is the one that remove the anti scratch property of zenfone 2 screen.
PSA, do not use screen protector if you want to remove it in future.
Yep mine to it has some bad scratches i am really dissapointed with the quality and i was careful at least image quality is still fine
Im still looking for frame or rear glass replacement parts. Incase i need them. Image is fine but all scratched up . Lol
I man handle my phones like crazy no case past and present. I never ever had a scratch on my camera. Either your glass is bad or your doing something terribly wrong

camera lens protector?

where can i buy some sort of screen protector or sticker for the rear camera? i don't have the plastic on it anymore and i don't like the idea how it's protectionless. For my Galaxy Note 4, the plastic fell off recently somehow and I was barely able to cover it using a spare screen protector, but it didn't stick well.
If i can't find anything for this phone , im thinking of either using tape or stickers from the dollar store or walmart.

Right now, I taped the glass part of the camera and cut out wholes for the camera lens, so it doesn't affect the quality lol. very getto but it seems to work, but i'm 1/4 finished. I did this to my Note 4 too yesterday.

for your first link, I don''t really like the idea how with the camera glass, it still means that the lens is ****ting the surface first and putting the pressure on it. in your opinion, how scratch resistant is it and does it affect the camera quality? I wish they made one like that but inverse so it covers everything but the lenses itself .
I might buy the dbrand camera skin, it seems to be what i'm looking for.
