[Q] Bootloop again. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I am stuck at bootloop (google logo, bootanimation, black screen, vibrate... loop).
What I already tried:
- flashing factory image using flash-all script (no errors)
- flashing cyanogenmod
Status:
- fastboot, recovery, bootloader – all works
- adb in recovery works
- still boot loop
I tries stock ROMs, I tried CyanogenMod, no dice.
Maybe doing full nandroid restore with clockwork would help? But I have no such restore file
I will very much appreciate your help.

i dont know if this will make any sense:
format system, recovery, cache, userdata within fastboot commands, flash stock images manually (dont use flash-all script), wipe data and cache with recovery, reboot.

Thank you. Everything went ok (as all my earlier attempts with stock, CM11, odin...) but it still restarts after a moment of bootanimation

i guess there is a hardware failure

Maybe your emmc is fried?

Well, I don't believe it's the emmc because I can actually flash various things (ROMs, recovery) and they work to some extend (well, bootanimation changes so I know). Does that make sense?

[Q] Unable to flash custom ROMs

I'm encountering trouble when trying to flash any custom ROM. I was able to install the Clockworkmod recovery just fine, but when I flash a ROM and reboot my phone gets stuck at the Google logo. I've tried wiping, factory reset, reflashing stock image, and so on without success.
The weird thing is I can flash the latest stock image without any problems whatsoever. Any suggestions?
My phone's information on the fastboot screen:
Product name - tuna
Variant - maguro
HW version - 9
Bootload version - PRIMEKJ10
Baseband version - I9250XXXKK1
Carrier info - none
Serial - ###
Signing - production
Lock state - unlocked
I tried flashing ROMs a few more times and discovered that Clockworkmod doesn't work with any image, including the stock one. It still tells me "Install from sdcard complete." but my phone always gets stuck on a reboot.
I can flash the stock image using fastboot and that works fine.

Are you sure you're flashing the right ROM? Like if you have a GSM phone your not accidentally flashing ROMS made for LTE devices?

I have the exact same problem as you are.
Have you got any solution?

How to "un-brick" from Recovery

Using "CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7 FULL".
I can't get my device to boot. I'm running the previous version of Energy's ROM (not most recent). However, I can get into recovery and fastboot easily.
All I have tried is to factory reset, wipe caches, and re-install Energy, but it still will not boot. It's gotten close - can see the splashscreen, but no further.
Battery is at 100.
What do I need to do get this baby going again!
P.S. The original problem is that I let the battery drain too low for it to fully boot.
Always read the OP for the ROM before you flash...

How to Flash this ROM:
- Root your device
- Install TWRP custom recovery
- Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #3
- Make sure to do a Factory Reset / Wipe before installing ROM

PLEASE use TWRP to flash this ROM. You will probably bootloop if you don't. If you experience a really long boot animation, double check your recovery (change if necessary) and try it again.

Oddly enough I used TWRP to flash. Somehow it reverted me back to CWM. I don't have a clue.
It's currently trying very hard to boot. Once I get there what should be my first steps?
If it doesn't boot, should I try and push TWRP through fastboot?
Edit: pushed TWRP (latest). Wiped and reinstalled. Still won't get past boot animation.
Can I transfer a new ROM file using fastboot or will I need to use 'fastboot update' to install a different ROM?
Should I try reverting to stock image?

[Please help]Bootloop, adb "unauthorized, fastboot flash not working, CWN not working

[Please help]Bootloop, adb "unauthorized, fastboot flash not working, CWN not working
Hi everybody!
First of all, I'm not an Android noob, I've experience with fastboot and adb commands, android app developement and Stock/Custom Roms/recoveries in general.
Also, I extensively used google and the xda search for this issue but unfortunately didn't come any further.
To make things a little shorter, and avoid a wall of text, here are my problems.
- I'm using CM11 and CWM on a rooted Maguro.
- Initial Problem: Device is stuck in a Bootloop and I want to backup my personal data
- Therfore, wiping is not desired.
- I can boot into Downloading Mode (e.g. for Odin) and Bootloader Mode
- I can boot into recovery (CWM 6.0.4.7) through bootloader menu or fastboot
- In recovery, adb recognizes the device but it is displayed as "unauthorized", so I cant pull any files that way
- Afaik, the device should be accessible in recovery mode, so I thought maybe it would be a good idea, if I installed TWRP instead of CWM and see if it works then.
- I tried installing the new recovery (TWRP) through fastboot (fastboot erase recovery, fastboot flash recovery), and fastboot states, that it was successfull. HOWEVER, when I reboot, the recovery is still CWM and untouched.
- I read, that CM11 may under certain circumstances overwrite any recovery with CWM ob boot, so I made sure to direktly boot into recovery from the bootloader after flashing TWRP over fastboot. Still, CWM is untouched.
- I tried installing TWRP over Odin. Odin too states, that flashing the recovery was successful, but again, CWM remains untouched.
- Then I tried erasing and reflashing "bootloader", "radio", "boot" and a stock "system" through fastboot. (I carefully did not erase "userdata"). All finished successfully according to fastboot but a reboot showed the system in the same state as before.
- At this point, I assume, that I don't have write-access to the device anymore, as silly as that sounds.
At this point, I'm stuck at a dead end and don't know how to proceed, so every help you could provide would be incredibly appreciated.
Of course, I'm also willing to go into more details, but in order to keep this post from getting too long, I didn't do it in the first place.
Many thanks in advance for oyu assistance!
Greetings
Jules

have you tried using the fastboot boot "/path/to/recovery.img-name-here" fastboot option to just directly boot into twrp without installing it? I used to use fastboot boot for different recovery and boot imgs I wanted to test out first before actually installing them. and I had a similar issue to what yours sounds like before in which I was able to use fastboot boot recovery.img when I wasn't able to get different custom recovery to install at the time.

Unable to Reset - Strange behavior

Hi everyone,
yesterday my beloved galaxy nexus started rebooting continuously. I did not even touched it. The loop is continuing still now without any reason. Usually, in this occasions, I've performed a clean/hard reset (I don't know the correct term), wiping system, data, cache and dalvik partitions, flashing a new rom and bla bla..
The very strage thing today is that I'm not able to do that. I'm using the TWRP custom recovery: if I wipe something or perform a factory reset (standard in twrp) it starts the process, gives me at the end the advice that everything has gone well, it even allows me to flash a new custom rom and gapps but when I reboot, nothing has changed. It reboots in the previous system, nothing erased and again with the reboot loop.
I've just tried also using fastboot interface. Any command I launched performed its task, the phone gives a positive ending but when I reboot again, it's like nothing happened.
Specs: Galaxy Nexus Maguro, GSM version. Actually running a 4.4.4 rom (SlimKat) with its own kernel. A lot of customization (writing/formatting) in the past 2 years.
Thanks in advance for your help!

My phone reboots in 10 sec after he boots. I can not install flashify and not even flash cwm recovery.
The same here
I'm having the same problem here, it seems that It's not saving any change I try to make, as you've described it says that every task was performed ok but after rebooting it has all my apks, data etc. even afer wiping.
The only thing I can make to keep it ON, is to enter in SAFE MODE, then I can save my pictures and data but I can't flash anything (well I can but it make no change).
FACTS:
-If you start the phone and you activate USB debugging, after rebooting it's not active anymore
-It shutsdown after 10 secons entering in a boot loop (unless you use SAFE MODE, that way you can keep it on)
-If you wipe data, wipe cache, flash boot, flash bootloader, flash system, unlock boot loader, root it, restore, flash stock + unroot (using nexus root toolkit v2.0.5) or use any flash option of fastboot via command line including update, you will get task perfomed ok but nothing is changing; after rebooting It shutsdown after 10 secons entering in a boot loop and all my data including APKs, pictures etc are still in the device.
-You can boot in Download mode, Recovery mode
Phone spec.:
Galaxy Nexus GSM/HSPA+
Android 4.3.0 JWR66Y
Product name: Tuna
Variant: Maguro 16GB
Bootloader Version: PRIMEMD04
Base Band Version: I9250XXLJ1
Lock State - Locked (You can easily unlock it but after reboot it'll be locked again)

Stuck at Logo after flashing rom [fixed] > solution!

Edit: solution added
problem:
after flashing a rom (in my case OP3lite or FreedomOS) you can't get past the boot logo
you have access to TWRP, so you can restore nandroid or flash flashable stock OxygenOS packages (tutorial here)
solution:
wipe: Dalvik /ART Cache, Cache, Data, System
flash your rom
try to boot (most likely will get stuck at boot logo)
boot into TWRP > Advanced > Fix Contexts, and swipe to Fix Contexts
Reboot
(wait a while, it might take a few minutes till it boots)

original post:
hi,
I'm running official OxygenOS 3.1.3.
Rooted (systemless) , TWRP installed.
I don't have any problems on my rom, but everytime I flash a rom I get stuck at the boot logo.
I can just force reboot, goto twrp and restore my nandroid backup, and my phone works fine again.
But I can't flash any rom.
tried this:
Dirty flash OP3Lite rom - stuck at boot logo
wipe and install OP3Lite rom - stuck at boot logo
Restored nandroid backup, factory format, wipe and install OP3Lite rom - stuck at boot logo
wipe and install FreedomOS - stuck at boot logo
Restored nandroid backup, factory format, wipe and install FreedomOS - stuck at boot logo
wipe, Format userdata throught fastboot, install FreedomOS - stuck at boot logo
update to OxygenOS 3.2.1 (flashable zip throught twrp)
wipe and install FreedomOS - stuck at boot logo
Both roms I tried are OxygenOS 3.2.1 stock based, my problem is most likely not due to the rom I want to flash.
Anyone knows a solution for this?
is it possible that systemless root causes this problem?
are you encrypted? that might be the issue.
backup your internal sd data then go to fastboot and fastboot format userdata then flash the rom you want

I never did format my userdata throught fastboot, so I might be encrypted.
I'll try tomorrow and let you know if that was the solution.
@Abaddon I format my userdata throught fastboot (fastboot format userdata), but still roms wont go past the Logo . any other idea?
did you full wipe?
wiped /system too before flashing a rom then u go and flash the rom + gapps if needed
how long was it at the boot logo? no animation correct?
did u advance wipe - data, caches, system instead of factory wipe, try it 3 times
I did a few wipe 3 times, still stuck at logo.
I get stuck on this logo, never reboot, just get stuck there.
I noticed that it does flash the rom, cause if I restore my nanodroid backup layers and adblock is added.
I also get zero error while flashing in twrp.
I fixed it .
did a fill whipe, then flashed feedomOS, then tried to boot, didnt get past the logo, booted into recovery, selected "fix Contexts" and then rebooted, started without any problem .
doesent work for me..!! any help

hello guys. sorry if I'm a bit slow on this topic. I'm using the the op3t A3010 version (not dure whether I'm at the right forum or not lol) Recently I updated my phone to the new 4.1.7, in which I had already rooted the phone before with magisk v12. But right after the update, as usual, the phone will unroot and yes I did root the phone back by using the magisk v13.0 version. But it failed the safety net. So after a few 'research', I installed the superuser just in case that the safety net will work this time. But this is when it all went wrong. The phone did restart back to factory settings, but the phone is not rooted (checked by using the rootchecker app) So again, I'm back to the twrp recovery, clean wipe all the data, with hope that I can start from scratch which is from installing the magisk all over again. But after this step, it stuck at the boot logo for like more than half an hour. Than at this moment, I restart my phone back to recovery mode by long pressing the power button, and when I try to install both the magisk 12 and 13 version, there is a line of error code on the screen. There's a site that says simply go to the advance setting on the twrp interface, check fix contents and ur phone will be as good as new. After done doing that, I'm now stuck with a phone with no os installed and about 38% battery left. Can anyone help me here? This is the only phone that I had :crying: Urgent help needed here guys
Unless your original installation is without storage encryption (no dm-verity) this will happen. So next time install custom rom after flashing OB22 firmware+modem, then boot patch for dm-verity followed with custom rom and gapps then boot without wipe
i have the same problem but with p9 lite : when i tried a flash lineageOS or ResurrectionRemix my phone stucks at boot logo and when i flash the original os my phone works perfectly
