Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM dev that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't (or don't want), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Octo-Kat

Bugs:
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file
Download KitKat GApps - * See Note Below! *
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Three-Finger or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM but it can be used if TWRP can not flash ---
Flash ROM, GApps files
Clear Dalvik/Cache
Reboot
A Note about the Team OctOs GApps
We in Team OctOs believe in choices. We believe in leaving the fundamental decisions about your phone to you.
In that spirit, Team OctOs gives you options for your GApps experiences. While any ODEX'ed GApps package should work, we offer you the choice of using some of the same GApps packages that we use ourselves, and leave the choice up to you.
You can find our Team OctOs GApps packages here, and break down into the following types:
GPe - Google Experience
Regular GPe GApps
Dalvik-Enhanced GPe GApps
AOSP
AOSP GApps
Dalvik-Enhanced AOSP GApps
The Dalvik-Enhanced packages are NOT ART compatible. If you plan to run ART, don't use those.
We will only update the thread with Stable Releases, whenever possible. This means that the thread may be behind non-milestone releases. If you have an issue with compulsive flashing, or feel the need to live 'life on the edge of brick', we invite you to follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter. Any dailies that can be released, we will release there. Please note, we pull these releases after a day or two, so if the latest link posted there is empty, simply wait until the next one.

I'll give it a shot... thanks:beer: first
ROM is great atm fast, stable, cam is good. Screen shot isn't perfect but works fine (blurry for preview but that's all). I'll get back with other stuff (if there is any). Hope the battery holds better than the other KK ROMs... :thumbup: also I did not use twrp, had no problems at all
flashing as we speak! Will report back tomorrow!
Apnsconfg.XML is not in Etc folder for now just extract one from a rom and drop it in to etc folder and reboot I'm working with the OctOS team to get full device support but I'm tired and off to bed

4.3 mini-FAQ
Q) I'm stuck at the boot logo and/or a boot loop!
A) Make sure you use TWRP 2.5.0.0. TWRP 2.6 and other recoveries can cause boot loops & hangups
Q) Root doesn't work!
A) From a clean build you need to enable root access for Superuser itself. This is different from 4.2.2 in which Superuser by default had root access on a new install. To do this, go to Settings -> Developer options -> Root access. If an app attempts to request root access before Superuser itself has access, it may cause problems with that app in the future where root requests are silently denied.
Q) Titanium Backup isn't restoring apps!
A) Change the backups folder to storage/emulated/legacy.
First again! Woohoo!

Thank you for the fresh new thread and all the hard dedicated work put into this ROM!
Running this right now and it's all good and smooth. Battery life is pretty awesome, but i do have my device in the powersave governor. Camera is working fine also, the new build today fixed it all up.
Keep up the good work Slim ROM team!

Again guys we recompiled & re-release beta 2 for d2 yesterday so please make sure you have the most recent version. Check yer sha1sums and filenames.
The re-released beta 2 is running beautifully coupled with BMS here. I can't comment on battery life just yet as it's only been running since this morning. I did notice a few little add ons in 4.3 that weren't there in 4.2 namely in the advanced WiFi section of settings. Made me think I had WiFi on all day when when it was turned off. Weird little option Google threw in.
Can we please get the feature where the camera button is the shutter button?

I run the Rogers S3, and I've been getting 'cannot connect to camera' errors a lot lately. Not sure what is going on. Never had the problem before.
I am running 4.3 beta 2. Did a full wipe when I came from 4.2.2.
Thanks.

Make sure you're on the second beta 2 build. Check to see if the file you downloaded matches the one on the website.
Camera has changed quite a bit from 4.2.2, there will likely be complications depending on the device.

Pretty sure he is talking about the power button to take pictures. Is the camera app is completely sick so far? It seems like it. Thanks for the quick update to fix the camera.
I have noticed that with the back button not always exciting the menu Bhutto well not bring up the menu on the home screen, the seem to be linked. Sorry no log as its kinda random or after deep sleep, don't know if you're having the same issues but I can live with it and the fact that this is only the second beta and that's my only bugs so far is awesome. That's actually in the dev's listed issues. You need to install a 4.3 camera app for the time being.
I tried the latest download in the link and it said failed in my recovery I'm using cwm 6.0.4.3 what downloads worked for you guys

The camera is still borked but i am posting a link to a working 4.4 camera flashable zip in the OP in a few minutes...
OR you can simply copy the camera2 and gallery2 files out of System/apps and load a 4.3 camera2.apk in their place. Fix permissions to RW.R.R and install...and then you will have a working camera for now.
By the way, I posted this for the Developer, I am NOT a Developer of this ROM, so i will just answer what questions i can. The camera seems to be working on all of the other devices he has built for. Its only the D2's that the Camera is broken on, but will hopefully be fixed in the next build.
@jonhy25 Yes, Pie will be back eventually as far as i know, he did have the slim style pie (V13 pie) in his 4.3 builds. I have started using the free pie app (I actually kinda like it now) just so i don't really need any other pie on any ROM...

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.3][D2ATT/D2LTE] Omni Rom for all D2s [Multi-window][OpenDelta]
There will now be one unified zip to satisfy all D2 variants (D2LTE).
Please flash this latest zip which incorporates this new build as well as setting you up for the custom opendelta system updates.
- New single unified build for all D2 variants (d2vzw, d2att, etc.).
- The opendelta system will be used from this zip forward.
- Thanks to @androidsftw for the help on this one!
Enjoy!
##############################
This is an unofficial build of Omni Rom based on KitKit 4.4.3. There is no official support for the d2 variants. Props to androidsftw for picking apart what was needed for our d2s.
I am not the dev of this rom, all I did was add in necessary device/vendor/d2 files for d2. This is not a port, everything has been built from source.
As with all things root, I am not responsible for anything that happens while flashing this rom. You take responsibility for your actions. Nandroid is your friend.

Omni Rom - DroidHype Roms
GAPPS 4.4.3 - PA 0-day
SuperSU - Chainfire
Kernel (optional) - BMS

----------------------------------
HOW TO INSTALL
Installing for the first time?
Grab the newest full zip from the D2LTE directory.
For future updates, just go to Settings -> System Updates and let the magic happen.
1. Factory Data reset
2. Wipe System/Data/Dalvik/Cache
3. Install ROM zip from Sdcard
4. Install GAPPS zip from Sdcard
5. Install SuperSU from Sdcard
6. Reboot to home screen to confirm good flash
7. (Optional) Reboot to recovery and flash kernel
TO USE DELTAS, YOU HAVE TO USE TWRP OR PHILZ RECOVERY. CWM WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE IT DISABLES SCRIPTING CAPABILITIES BY DEFAULT. If there's anything that you want the updater to flash automatically after it flashes your update, put the file(s) in the FlashAfterUpdate directory inside your Opendelta folder in your internal storage.
If you run into issues flashing, make sure you are using Latest TWRP or CWM.
Join the BMS G+ Communitywhich will have quicker release info in the future for all things BMS and roms.
Enjoy! :highfive:

You tell us!
Quick note, please keep this thread clean and please help each other out. We can not incorporate major fixes being that this is omni source and not built by us. If you find a fix or workaround please share and I will try to get it on the op or pm me if I don't see it. Please DO NOT bring up the whole cyanogen vs omni debate in here. Your opinions are your own and please keep it that way or make your own thread for that debate. By no means does this mean GideonX or I sway to one side or the other. We are just flashing roms like the rest of you guys.
Please have fun flashing and be careful. We are here to have fun and work together on making this phone as crazy awesome as we can get it. Thanks in advance.
I'll give it a shot! Thank u you!

No bugs that I have found. If anyone reports any I will put then in the op. I haven't tested it long. I also don't use Netflix and stuff like that. So far it's smooth and stable.

Any chance it has a theme chooser?

Dear GideonX and SlothlyDX,

New update is available. Sorry there won't be any changelogs unless GideonX gives me one or see's something to note. Like I said we are just syncing and uploading. I know this update has some manifest adjustments. While GideonX was building the rom he had to add in some stuff to make it run and the actual manifests that were needed are now from Omni. Enjoy.
I love this ROM on my N7 thanks for bringing it to the s3 if it gets battery life comparable to Pwn's I'm in....

Gummy ROM is made for speed, stability and to stay as closely in line with AOSP as possible while still supporting a large amount of devices and giving you all of the features you love. It isn’t slowed down by features you’ll never use nor is it so slim as to be just another AOSP build.
Features:
* New base built from AOSP
* Status Bar Mods
* Theme Manager
* Hardware Key Mod
* Lock Screen Mod
* Many Wallpapers
* Performance Control
* Application Permission Controls
* Carrier Label Options
* Background Style
* Lock clock widget
Instructions for installations:
1. Download ROM
2. Download Gapps
3. Push to sdcard
4. Reboot Recovery
5. Wipe Data and Cache
6. Install ROM
7. Install Gapps
8. Reboot System
Contributions:
* Thank you to Cyanogenmod for device and hardware repositories. Without this, porting Gummy to QCOM devices would have been nearly impossible.
* Thank you to Google for the best source code.
* androidfilehost.com for hosting our file servers!

During installation please wipe data and cache. Also, I would fix permissions. Some testers are reporting that it makes the overall experience better. I have not seen a difference.

I'll give it a whirl. Are you an official maintainer or is this an unofficial port?
Seems pretty basic, with a few twists added as per OP.
FYI the default governor is Performance, so you might wanna change that unless you want to run your battery down on full throttle.
Seems like a pretty nice ROM, but it's not for me. I am going back to Vanir but thanks for sharing.
I'm the official maintainer.

Thanks Guys. We are working on a BIG CHANGE soon. It should really help us get into the talk of best ROMs

Looks great thanks for sharing. I'll try this out tonight!
No EXT SD CARD
I flashed the rom and like everything I see so far except I cannot access my SD Card. I see the internal card - not the external one.
Something I can do? (I know this was fixed in CM wonder why I am having issues?)
I did a clean flash - maybe I missed something else?
EDIT - I flashed the custom AOSP Kernel that Temesak Created and that fixed my problem - I am now able to see the External SD Card. Not sure if there is a better solution for the missing SD Card - suggestions are appreciated. Maybe it's just me having the issue?

Too me ever cm asop ioap etc is a best ROM in its own way it the one or two bad eggs that bash and feel making people look stupid is what bring down the ROM if everyone would help and respect everyone all we would have is number ones across the board! Lot more respectful user in asop then tw! With that been said much alohas papi and team for your work!

I will look into this. I will be updating the kernel either today or tomorrow. I believe cm just added in EX FAT into their kernel so I can use their commit.

One more thing - when I tried to use Titanium - root check failed - all rooted aps did the same thing.
I had to install SuperSU (flash) to get root working again
Great work. I will download and try it when I get home.
