[Q] Is Your LED Notification Light Prismatic?

I've had two GN's. I swear my first one had a pure white LED notification light. This new one is prismatic. Red, blue, white. It's a whole bunch of colors melded together.
Does anyone else have the same or and I going color blind?

It's an RGB LED. Just like a white pixel, the white LED is made up of full-intensity red, green, and blue LEDs. That's what you're seeing is the individual LEDs.

I understand that. What I'm saying is one my first one, when the notification light was engaged, it was pure white. On this unit it's prismatic.
Am I going color blind? Is my unit defective? Should I be concerned? Or should I shut my giant pie hole?

Same here, and same with my buddy's

Yeah, I think the "rainbow" effect is the norm. Not sure how your other one didn't do it. Maybe it was an earlier batch that had a different LED, but that seems unlikely (mine was pretty early too, I was one the first to get a retail one from P4U...)

My first was one from the early Expansys shipments. This one came yesterday. Whew! Thanks guys, really started to freak me out.

Also I should note that mine is prismatic when I look at it, but when I "notice" the notification it looks pure white because I'm not focused on it. Maybe it didn't strike you as an oddity before so you didn't really focus on the color too much (I didn't really until I read this thread and then realized "oh yeah, it is multi-colored")?

LOL, it's because humans are color blind in peripheral vision

btw, mine does the same thing, sometimes it's white, sometimes it's the rainbow
can't put my finger on when and why different colors occur though...

Mine is white all the time. Uh oh, I got this one from the first batch off of Expansys USA.

You've probably already done this but you could use Light Flow to test it

Indeed, I tried Light FLow to no avail...

Dude, thanks for posting. I'm not completely crazy!

Mine is white when I receive a call, and yellow-esh for all other notifications

I noticed this the following day of receiving my phone (Nov.26= first batch)
The affected colors are: (White, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Cyan, Magenta) while I don't find any problem with Red, Green, Blue. Of course that is because it is an RGB LED.
I'm using LED Color Tester
p.s. It is funny because an hour ago, I was checking youtube to compare my LED with the ones in the few videos demonstrating this feature.

[Q] Notification light

For about a month now iv noticed that the notification light flashes 3 different colors at once... pinkish red, greenish blue and yellowish white.
Im pretty sure when i got the phone it was just white.. and dark blue for text messages.
Is it me or should it be white and blue only?

I get white for messaging and blue for FB notifications. I haven't noticed a red yet, but it may be reserved for notifications that I don't receive.

sorry i dont think you understand.
I used to get a white light.. but now that white light has turned in to faded multiple colors.. the colors i mentioned above. They are all together.
Well thats what im asking if it was always like that or not.
I guess i got my answer though...

Facebook - Blue
Email/Messages - White (but you can see a mixture of pink and green in it)
Those are the colours I usually get.

hmm i dont get different colors on different messages but like the op a 3color whitish. i bought the device 2nd hand and it was always like this

Capacitive buttons - color change

I saw that some memeber here changed capacitive buttons color..I send him PM but nothing..My housing is coming next week (black - in day or two)..So i can't disamble my hox and look it..So..How can I get access to diods and how to change color..Thank you

The ColorOS rom makes them blue for me, don't know if it's the lighting in my house or it actually changes cause they look white on ViperX rom.

The leds are white ....and they will always be white. They can't change color by software !
The blue tint you see is related to the strength of the leds, the lower the strength the more blue tone you will see. But the leds itself stay white. Its the influence of the light of the led through the bezel of the phone.

That guy fitted a One X+ screen, which has red LEDs instead of white.

Thanks to our Hermaro..Here is the solution..Under the ledflexcabel between the screen you must put red foil and thats it. ^^

Ah yeah i never ment to give the impression that they could not change. Only via hardware solutions like indeed adding a foil or changing the leds. What i ment was that a rom (software) can't change it's color

Question White Colour

Hi,
Got my White P6P from EE last week and have noticed that mine is "full" white, ie top part is not grey!? Was kinda looking forward top seeing the contrast, I havent seen the full white advertised anywhere.
What you got? Grey or white up top?

I don't like the off white color, it looks almost very light pink to me. In bright light you can see the different top color.

Looks really grey in your picture.

More grey looking than anything to me...

I do love the white. But like OP wish it had the grey top. I got bored with black.

Yea i like it, but then i like colours that are slightly different to the norm. I work in car sales and everyone gets black, white, silver or grey whereas i like the yellows, turquoise etc lol. Same with phones, black and white are nice but why go with everyone else?
