Yes.....I use a 2A charger from my GTAB 10.1. Its charges faster too.

lots of smart phones, like n7000, takes 1A(1000mA) from charger whether 1000mA or 2000mA charger.
So you don't really fasten your charging untill use custom kernel that enables that upper current(like 1250mA.. etc. But that not recommended.
But yes,u can use note 2charger for note 1.

yes, you can but, mostly it will reduce battery life!
my exp. stock charge with other stock cable, charges in about 3.5 hours to full. phone is sleepy like a baby
friend of mine got 4.0.4 charges it in 2.5 hours!
cm.10.2 any help

Wrooong. 1A charger and 2A charger effects are same on n7000battery. Phone takes only 1A max as needed from both(in untouched kernel about current).
Charging cable's isolation, quality and length effects the current, and may slowingdown charging procedure.

ebay.com/itm/231080889404?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
But we dont know if this charge with more thn 1Amp

Nope ! Max charge current is fixed by the Galaxy Note itself, one IC (SMB328) is programmed via I²C bus to do so.
So only a piece of softawre can speed up charging but don't forget that slow charge reduce heat increasing battery life span by the same way.

not even with external charger??

Dont use your note 1 charger

I doubt if anyone is as lazy as me but when I first got my note 2 the other day I didnt bother unpacking everything and just charged my phone on my old note 1 charger. I was very disapointed on how long it was taking to charge so I checked the specs written on the side of chargers and noticed the old charger has a 1amp output and the new charger has a 2amp output. Just thought id share this as I know alot of you are previous note 1 owners .

If it was legit .7 amp charger, then it'd only take 3.1 mA/.7 = 4.4 hours to fully charge.
So something is wrong with your charger or widget.
I highly recommend a widget like battery monitor widget so you can observer how fast your phone is charging with whatever charger/cable combo you are using.
Some of my old note 1 chargers are happy, like my griffin car charger. Others, like my t-mobile 1A charger, definitely aren't.
YMMV.

[Q] Better to use the 2amp or use a 1amp charger?

My wifes Galaxy S3 came with a 1amp charger. My note 2 came with a 2amp. Would it be better to charge the note 2 with the 1amp charger vs the 2amp? I remember reading a post that said the 1amp charger would take longer but the battery would hold that charge longer/better than what the 2amp would provide. The 2amp would charge it faster but the charge wouldn't be as good/longer lasting.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
Either one will work. I would use the 2 amp one. Just because the charger outputs 2amps it doesn't mean the phone will draw all 2amps.
the 2 amp charger won't get drawn for all 2 amps, but it will get drawn more than 1 amp. charging slower (with the 1 amp) won't mean it will keep the charge any better
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
if you need speed use the 2amp. if you don't need speed you can extend the life of your battery by using the 1amp. (slower charge is healthier for the battery in the long run though not likely measurable by the likes of us)

There is a reason Samsung included the 2amp charger. The Note 2 has a huge battery. The 2 amp charger will charge your note 2 faster. The device draws the amount of amps it needs. The charge is held the same way, doesn't matter the amps. Im sure Samsung wouldn't include a charger that would damage/negatively effect the battery.

[Q] Stock charger amps and volts?

Hello I just got a second hand Note 2 which did not come with a charger.
So if someone of you would be kind enough to share what the output on the official charger is. Amps and volts.
Also what charger would be ok for me to buy. It seems hard to get note 2's own charger...

Make sure you get a 2A version, when I didn't have my note 2 charger I used my old BlackBerry charger and as it was only 1A, it took an age to charge!
Thanks to both of you.
Where could I order a 2amp version? As everything I see is the travel charger for all galaxy devices.

You just need a 5v 2 a usb charger and a quality usb cable. I dont know where you live so its hard to recommend. In uk try maplins

Obviously charging through a 500mAh USB 2.0 port would be slower then through a 1.35A wall charger.
can I use 2A charger?
Yes you can use a 2amp charger I was using my S4's and it charged fast

Interesting, I've only charged mine twice since getting it last sunday, and I've not paid any attention as to how long it's actually taking, one was through a proper charger, and finally today plugged into my computer
The New N7 ships with a 1.3 amp charger, and it's definitely slower to charge than the old N7 (which shipped with a 2.1 amp supply).
But I have yet to determine if putting a higher current supply on the new N7 will result in more current being delivered than the stock charger.

It takes about 3 hours to charge from 0% to 100% with the charger it came with. Using a 2 amp charger doesn't decrease the time, as the device will charge at a maximum of about 1100-1200 mAh.

Can anyone tell me what the power draw should be using the stock charger and cable?
Battery monitor is telling me that it is +237ma, it is taking 12 hours to charge. I have sent back to Asus via PC world (what possessed me to buy from there I dont know) and they have told me there is nothing wrong with the device. I have flashed the stock image and still getting notoriously slow charge times.

With the stock charger and cable, the battery should be charging with close to 1200mA; the charger draws 7.4W from the outlet (at 230V).
There is current limiting based on the voltage the tablet sees, a USB cable with thin wires can drastically limit the charge current.

How many amps will the G4 draw when charging at 5V?

I know this phone is Quick Charge 2 capable, but does that apply only to high voltage charging, or also to standard 5V?
I ask because I bought a 3.1A charger, and though the phone was almost dead, it didn't charge any faster than the 1.8A charger that came with the phone. Is the charger defective, or will this phone just not draw 3.1A at 5V?
QC2.0 is 9V at 1.2-1.3A.
Normal 5V is at around 1.7-1.9A only.
It will not draw anything more than what's above. FWIW, IMO, QC2.0 doesn't make a huge difference

Thanks. So QC is only a protocol for changing voltages, it has nothing to do with negotiating or handling a higher current draw?

QC is a protocol for allowing a maximum possible current draw at a predefined voltage. Just because you have a higher possible current supply from a charger it doesn't mean that the G4 will draw more.
E.g. G4 can only draw 1.8A a 5V. If you use a 1A charger, it can only draw 1A but if you use a 2A charger it will only be able to draw 1.8A and not the full 2A.
This phone is **** at charging 1% every 3mins at best. I'm at 44% 23 degrees Celsius and it says 2hour 4min to 100%. Ampere shows its only drawing 480ma on a 2A charger. Three cables.. Note 4 cable, Stock cable and a high quality third-party cable all the same. The cables work fine as they charge to Note 4 quick and a Tab 3.
I give up. I even put this LG poss on ICE to 18 degrees Celsius but still same crap. Night charging for me then. Even Note 4 quick charger can't help it.
Nice phone for sure but I'm going back to Samsung next upgrade, sorry LG.

It does sound defective, unfortunately. Mine charges at up to 1%/minute, and that's without a QC 2.0 charger.
I use LG stock charger and a third party 2.1A charger to charge, Ampere shows that it has around 1000 mah. Apart from the charger, the charging cable quality do affect the result too. Try to swap cable and test again.
IMO﹐stock charger with 5V 1.8A can charge quite fast with 2+ hours to fully charged from 0 to 100%, no need to go for QC2.0.

I have found that my Original Samsung 2.1A charger sucks for the G4. Somehow it knows its a Samsung and doesnt want to provide anything over 1A. That charger charges at 2A my Galaxy S4. It takes like 3-4 hours to full charge from under 15%.
My LG G4 charges fkn fast with the original one and a Tronsmart QC charger. 1% every minute.
