disbale HTC SMS/MMS notification when using Handcent

i like Handcent but one thing that has always bothered me is that even though handcent notifies me of texts and i read/reply and the handcent notification goes away, the default HTC/Android messaging app is still running and showing the notifications in the notification bar.
how can i remove that crap, its so annoying to have to go click the 'clear' button in the task bar every time i get a text even after i have replied to it with handcent.
again this is the default HTC messaging app that is notifying me, not handcent.

Turn off the notifications
Since handscent and the stock messaging are separate applications they use separate notifications. However, handscent still gets its information from the messaging application. So it is as simple as turning off your notifications for messaging in the message setup. It wont hurt handscent at all. Just open up the messaging application and turn off all your notifications by hitting menu and settings and notifications (i think). Then you wont get them anymore.
This should solve your problem.

any way to stop dual notification by 2 sms apps

I installed handcent sms & I have been getting two SMS notifications for each SMS I receive, I have selected handcent as default app for sms yet the second notification comes through as a totally separate sound notification about a second after the first.
In notification pull down menu I see both handcent & stock messaging apps notification.
There must be a way to stop this but cant figure out how.

go into the stock messaging app and turn off notifications...i use SMS Popup and it has its own notifications and you have to turn off the default app notifications or you get duplicates

[Q] How to get lightflow to work with handcent?

Hey guys, Ive tried to tweak just about every setting in lightflow to get it working how I want it but no success so I figured I'd ask you guys. Ill start off with what I'm trying to accomplish...
I want my missed calls to blink red
My gmails to blink green
My SMS to blink blue
and one specific SMS to blink orange with a different notification sound
Before i got lightflow, handcent was able to tweak the sms perfectly but then there's nothing to change emails or missed calls. With lightflow Ive been able to get everything working except the specific contacts sms...it always just comes in as blue
I can describe my setting in more detail...but I was wondering if anyone has been able to do this and what settings they are using? Thanks a bunch

[Q] Handcent & Jelly - Notification LED

I have a strange issue with Handcent SMS after flashing Jelly Bean
The notification LED turns blue whenever the screen is off or is showing the lockscreen.
As soon as i unlock the GNex, the notification LED turns off.
The problem disappears if i uninstall Handcent and reappears on reinstall.
Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea how to fix it?

Its suppose to do that.... its the apps secondary notification.
Go into settings for handcent and find notification, notification settings, LED settings

Yeah, but only when i have an unread text, and stays on even if the phone is unlocked.
The issue i'm having is there even when there is no unread texts

Which sms app or how to set stock ?

Hi,
Im looking for any way to set phone flashlight notification for unread sms/ call, etc. I really like flashlight notification but i would like also for unread. Very often im no able too see/hear phone ringing. Front LED notification is too small too see from distance and flashlight would be perfect. I tried to find option in stock sms which is best for me but cant find. Also tried few sms apps which doesnt have this option.
Do you know any way to set flashlight notification for unread .. ?

You could try Tasker to turn on the camera flash when you get a notification.
