Hello all,
Does anyone have this wireless charger -> http://www.amazon.com/Lerway-Wireless-Power-Charger-Lumia920/dp/B00E9MUNWU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Just want to know how it works with the Nexus 5. It is at a pretty good price and decently rated as a 4 starred device on Amazon.
I have not tried that one but I bought this one recently and have excellent results. It charges with a case on so not bad at all for $10 total shipped with prime account. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FALFNQA/ref=mp_s_a_1_50?qid=1383963766&sr=8-50&pi=SX200

AT&T was running a deal a few days ago where you get 25% off if you buy 3 accessories. I bought 3 of the Nokia wireless chargers for around $60. Might check and see if they still have that deal going.
I use this one (broke it down and mounted in my car dock) with my N7 LTE ... Charges faster (measuring amps) than wired connections. Just grabbed one for my N5.

Any chance you could post pictures of that? I'm kinda tempted to buy a cheapy Qi charger and try to rig it up to my iMagnet dash mount somehow... but i'm not sure exactly how big the whole setup is and if it would be do-able.

sure thing.... I've been meaning to take some pictures of it anyway... it's amazing what you can do with a little bit of foam double sided sticky tape. Keep in mind this is for an N7 tablet so it has a bit bigger footprint than a phone car mount.
With that said, I hope someone (like google) does a QI car charger mount. I'm already missing my gnex pogo mount.

I know. More concerned about how exactly these things are usually configured prior to being slapped in a nice square plastic case to be plopped on a desk/dresser/etc... to see if doing what i'm thinking about is even possible. If they come small enough, i might be able to get it to work. If not, i might still be able to rig something up somehow.
Yes, though I didn't use it, this one seems really cheap. But for me, a reasonable priced product means quality to me. I would highly recommend this one, "RAVPower Qi-Enabled Wireless Charger". It's really light and a great gadget to charge my lumia 920 in a wireless way. They're also compatible with many models. You can check it here from its amazon page, simply search RavPower wireless charger.

That's kind of what I thought until I read an article online the other day that talked about how most Qi chargers are made in China for less than $2. After reading that I told my self I am not paying over $20 for a Qi charger and found one for $10 shipped on Amazon. Its been awesome and I can't find any flaws with it.

-Yeah, I didn't notice the 1A detail when I bought it, but that is kinda funny. I know it's using 1.5A because I hooked it up to my Kill-a-watt and that's what it was reading- 7.5W, 5V, 1.5A. So that is kind of odd, but cool.
-I haven't tested it from 0-100, but from 2%-80%, it took right at 1hr, 15 minutes.

AT&T had this on sale for $24.99, picked mine up there in store.
I got my nexus 5 (32gb white) last week and love it. I am searching for an exteranlnrechargable battery and found Anker Astro Series to be very nice. I am also in search of a wireless charger and some products could be found in different threads. I do not know if it is possible to combine the two functions into one. Please tell me if you have any ideas and suggestions. Thank you.
If you don't know, try googling it:
https://www.google.com/search?q=qi+charger+battery+pack
Don't own one myself, so i did just that just now.
Don't buy this one I just sent it back it isn't good as a overnight charger causes the phone to get very hot and reboot then starts to drain your battery down.

Thanks. It looks very nice. $55 is not very expensive. I assumed that it is compatible with Nexus 5 since it listed Nexus 4 in its specification. Any experiences with this charger?
I've been looking at getting one of these to use overnight and then take it with me for trips for the n5 and n7. Anyone else have experience with these types of chargers? If I plug it into a wall will it charge my n5 and the brick or will it charge the brick first then the phone or visa versa?

It looks like it can charge phone both wire and wireless. So just give me one more option when I am not in a rush since I am little bit worried about the slim micro-usb of the phone.

Hello everyone,
I hope to buy a power bank for my new Nexus 5.
I have made many search and I found that all power bank provide more that 1.2 A as output.
I noticed that the Nexus 5 official charger provide 1.2 A as output. So if I will buy a power bank that provides 2A or 3A, this will make problems for the phone battery ??
It is real that the important amperage charge the phone very fast, but this will not make problems for the battery ??
I'm not as handy as some in the forums...but I can glue things together. Any phone stands out there that would work nicely with the n5 charger and the nexus?
I've a case on so I can't rely on the chargers magnets unfortunately, so I need proper stand

Very pricey, I want it. I'll have to see catch it at a deal.
The Tylt definitely is a looker, but I can't justify spending that much on a charger.
I just want something around $15 - $25 that outputs higher than 1A... I want to at least attempt to come close to the max Qi for the Nexus 5.
The cheap $15 one I have right now is 1A max output (so less of course) and I'd say it charges a little over half as fast as the stock charger.
I don't want to spend higher than that for essentially a glorified usb cable.
Missed out on the tylt deal (also already have the nexus) so I couldnt get one. So trying the diy route
Yeah I'm with you guys, they definitely charge a premium for it. I missed out on the sale too but bought it anyway and I'm glad I did. It's really one of the most convenient accessories if not THE most convenient accessory I've ever bought for a phone/tablet and it's that convenience you pay for. I wish it was cheaper, but still think it's worth the asking price.

Ahhh the heat thing. Yeah, that *can* degrade the performance of a battery over an extended period of time, but I don't see that being a major concern. Your phone gets warmer during gaming sessions or just browsing the web than it does when on a wireless charger so the argument can be made that it's worse for the battery to actually use the phone than to charge it wirelessly. That said, at least in my experience, my TYLT charger doesn't make my N5 or N7 warm at all. And my N5 is on it all the time. Bottom line- use your phone the way you want to, you're going to be upgrading long before your battery dies anyway.
Slightly OT, but does it matter if you plug in your Qi charger into a USB 2.0 port on a computer, or do you need to use a USB 3.0?
I know that the mAh of USB 2.0 is something like only 500mAh, but I believe it still supplies the same 5V as USB 3.0 would. Would a Qi charger go by the 5V input, or would is use the 500mAh max draw rendering the charge time absolutely horrendous?
I don't really know how it works too well. I have my Qi charger plugged into a USB port on my power bar for my night stand. But I'd like to have 2 more, 1 for my desk (hooked to my desktop computer) and another for my notebook.

Hey I have the same charger. Can you try this for me.
Get a battery lower than 90%. Turn on Maps and set it to navigate somewhere. Put brightness at half and play music (at any volume). Can you watch your temperatures and see if you end up pushing 45C which implies "overheat" and therefore you won't charge?
Grabbed a generic one from eBay for 12 bucks been using for a month now its real big and does an excellent job.

This is the one I'm currently using. Just a generic Qi charger off ebay. Has the same 5V 1A output as pretty much all other Qi chargers.
Works pretty good, no complaints.

The Nokia one was through AT&T. The bad thing is uses a barrel plug for power, which makes it a bad choice for travel. It is also bowled out, so the phones don't sit flat, which is kind of stupid.
Most will all work the same. The only difference between the cheaper models compared to the more expensive ones are the features. More expensive ones typically have multiple coils inside to allow multiple positions and ease of use. Cheaper ones typically only have 1 which means you have to sit it in the "sweet spot" vs just plopping your device down.
Some Qi chargers also have different methods for keeping the charge topped off. Some just reach 100% and turn off, so your phone starts consuming batter at 4am = 75% remaining when you wake up. Others will stop, start, stop, start, stop, start... which is ok... unless it has lights and beeps every time it starts/stops. Some describe it as a beeping musical/lightshow at 5am. Most should reach 100% and begin to trickle charge to keep it up.
So know what you're buying and make sure if you buy a cheap model/off brand, you can repurpose it or return/exchange if it doesn't work to your expectations. I've moved my cheaper ones into my home/work offices and I have a good Samsung model by my bedside.

Yeah, no worries on the flat charger I have. It only makes 1 initial beep when connected and that's it. Actually, I'm not sure if it's the charger or the phone that makes the beep haha. When it reaches 100% there's no extra sounds. It also keeps the phone topped off. So when I wake up in the morning it's fully charged, and cool to the touch.

It's not even worth it at $12. Even being from Nokia, it only has a 750mA output current, so the charge time is going to be super slow. The one the OP posted has 1A output. The generic ones I posted are much cheaper and have 1A output.
I just received it today and it works like it should and it seems like charging is faster with the wireless chargers and the USB with the AC adapter

Yes it will charge faster from an AC adapter (if the amps are enough to fully power the charger) compared to USB into a computer. If you use a PC/Mac USB port there generally is not enough current to allow the charger to operate at full speed. If you have a charger that is 5V/1.5A Input make sure you have a USB adapter that provides at least the same output. If you have an adapter that provides higher (ex: 5V/2A) that is fine as too as the charger will only draw what it needs.

Exactly! It's functional and gets the job done nicely. And under $12, you can't go wrong.
I'm looking to by a something as the title suggests. I am looking into 3 on Amazon that look good for the price.
First: MOCREO(TM) 10000mAh High Capacity Portable Power Bank http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FRDNLD8/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1J7O7Q2KLU8CQ
Second: Anker 6000mAh High-Capacity Qi-Enabled

Third: LuguLake 6000mAh Qi - Enabled Inductive Wireless Charger Charging Pad

If any of you guys used any of these, what is your experience with it? Also if you could provide info on whether or not the Nexus 5 will stick on there until a certain angle or will it slip right off even if you move the charger around. Asking this because i'll be using it in the car also.
Thanks
I have the Lugulake one. It's good, works well, charges the phone in a very similar time to the wall charger and has a decent grip on the phone, not sure how good it'd be in car tho. But.... I also want one of these which I'll be ordering soon for the car -

I have two Lugulakes and they work great. Just to say the unit never gets hot nor does the phone. Good portable device.

I also have the Lugulake and I'm quite happy with it.
I think both of those devices are available on Amazon and for under $50. I'm thinking of getting the first one. Vent mount and I can use my SGS3 with it.

I have one I got on ebay that is 10,000mah and looks identical to the first link. (http://www.ebay.com/itm/141047804367) It cost $37 (looks like the price dropped a little since) and so far I'm very happy with it, though I've only used it a bit when traveling. It does take a while to charge since 10,000mah on a 1A charger is 10hrs. I haven't really carefully tested its functionality though. I wonder if its current discharge limit is lower than it says, though, since I noticed when I had my n5 plugged into it the 2.1A port and under heavy use (games) the phone battery didnt charge, it only discharged slower... I'll have to test more.
