Hello, was wondering how what kernel has the best battery life and speed. I'm using darthstalker rom with combustion kernel o something like that but stock not the OC one. Have had bad battery life this past few days today this morning I unplugged it at 97% messed with it a little. Little xda, flipboard no videos and I'm down to 62% ridiculous.

Every phone is different even with kernel, roms, apps, etc... you have to figure out what's best for your phone.
Flash and test. What works well with mine might not with yours.

Title about says it. If possible, with Touchwiz. I don't know why, I just like it (believe it or not). Thanks
Try Tuesday Blu ray by m & s. I get great battery life and performance with that rom

I believe Digital Warfare UV'ed would have the best. I switch Roms all the time currently running Juggernaut.

When it comes to pure battery life, I haven't found anything better then tdj digital warfare undervolted. it's about a stock as you can get in the looks dept. But the speed and battery life is just incredible. You can get 20+ hours with over 5h screen on easily.
Best of luck

Darkside digital is best for battery life. There is new touchwiz (with 5 icons on main bar) available with flag.
Fast and smooth too.

The only ROM I have tried so far was Digital Warfare and it was very smooth and had very good battery life. I reflashed my nandroid backup though because having the T989D Telus model of the phone I get the 3G icon instead of 4G. The ROM also came with a bunch of T-Mobile apps that I don't use. I can uninstall them, other than that the ROM was great.
I hear good things about battery life while running Juggernaut or Telus Stock Rooted Lightly Tweaked. If either ROM is run with Faux Kernel and one of Gideon's UC/UV scripts it's supposed to have fantastic battery life. Still have to give it a try though.

Xyros, how do you get that? What's the secret because I'm using Juggs 5.0 and I get about 14 hours and I'm using juice defender too!! A buddy of mine also suggested fully changing phone, Unplug and power off, then charge 10 more minutes. Anything else you can suggest??

This is subjective to what you use your phone for. No two people will have the same results

Well I use it to check my email while at work. I'm therapist so don't get to use a computer. Check fb from time to time. Get on this app. Some calls and a few games. I don't do heavy use, maybe moderate or light use?

14 hours 13 minutes and 47% was display. 14% voice and 8% android system. If this helps. Don't know how to post pics yet.

The best battery life I've seen is my current set-up. Juggernaut 5.0 with Darkside v1 kernel. I think in most part because I can underclock Darkside to 972MHz during normal use and 1296MHz for heavy stuff without any noticeable performance issues. Truth is I could go lower for normal use but 972 seems to work for me.
If you guys are interested I could throw up a screen shot after a full pull if you want.
I'm pushing 18 hours of normal use (social apps, browsing, heavy texting and some youtube and pandora) with 30% battery left. Of course this varies but to get 22-24 hours of normal use and still not be dead is normal for me.
I've run AnTuTU but don't know enough about how these systems operate to say anything other than my score goes up when the cpu MHz goes up (shocking!!) but I can throw shots of the tests up too.
This combo is a stable as any rom or kernel combo I've run b.t.w. Much respect to TDJ and Whitehawkx for the products they turn out.
Getting wrecked on AOKP,5 hours with 2 hours screen on. I don't really understand what roms are compatible with placebo scripts. What should I switch to? Links are dead for GB blazer 4.1

Something must be terribly wrong then. Try a new download and flash maybe? I'm getting 18-20 hours with this ROM. About 5 hours more than CM9 and this is with heavy use.
Try downloading BetterBatteryStats to see if something is keeping your phone awake.

Yea I don't understand either. My battery will drop 30 points in an hour and a half.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
These is something running that is draining your battery, it is not the rom, like the last poster I as well have always got good battery on aokp.... as previously suggested download better battery stats and use that to figure out what's eating your battery, should be an easy fix
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I was super out of date with my aokp. So I flashed milestone 6 and I'll wait for the kernal to settle down. So far it is better battery I think. Anybody know of those placebo scripts work with aokp
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Why not jist give aokp a few days first. Consider undervolting as well. It makes a difference.
I had an old aokp build I had been running for about a month and a half. I was running codename back when TCP was ironing out builds. I'm not bashing aokp at all. I'm still on it and will give it a few days to settle down. So far, it already has better battery life.

Hey so I recently tried cyanogenmod 10 nightly for T-Mobile. It is such a beautiful rom. But after I watch like an episode of my Korean drama I lose like 30%!!! Its to crazy.. I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend a nice/cool rom with an excellent battery life comment !
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
It doesnt always depend on rom it depends also of ur settings and usage..

Those Korean dramas can be so damn enthralling. I'm ashamed to confess that I had neglect my family for weeks on end watch that crap.
As for better battery life, you'll have to try one of the many TouchWiz Roms. CM10 is still in beta hence horrible battery life. Try turning off unnecessary syncing and decrease screen brightness for improved battery life.
My settings such as WiFi is always off. I don't really know what else to turn off. I also turn GPS off.

FrostyICS has my vote. V1 in particular. (V2 was a bit less battery friendly for me, and i have yet to try V3)
So far today I am at 13 hrs, 4 hrs of playing music (local not streaming), 2hrs screen on, and currently w/ 34% left with default sync settings. Of course YMMV as all phones behave differently.
You should do good with pretty much any Touchwiz based ICS rom. They are all good and each have their own strengths. Just check the features of each OP and try the one that sounds more like your ideal rom. Also read the last few pages to see if there are any current issues which are dealbreakers for you.
You really can't go wrong with any of them!

I am currently running Paranoid Android 2.16 with lean kernel and those 2 together have RIDICULOUSLY good battery life. It died after 39hrs of light use yesterday. Standby is almost like it doesn't use any juice at all. About to upgrade to PA 2.5 now

Likely not the rom. Use "battery mix " to monitor battery use. Flash a kernel, like "hotcakes", to further improve battery life.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. As much as I love cm10 I've been looking elsewhere because of the battery life
PA rom!
(yes phone is plugged in and at 35 percent....but below...94 percent used in 36 hours with 3 hours screen time. can get 4 hours plus...but obviously only about 12 hours then. Gsam keeps last unplugged stats on screen til you unplug charger and it resets. Look at average....over a day)

I think this one is one of the best for battery life too.
Hey guys...
I'm currently trying out CM10.1 and I'm loving it.
As its better than any other cm based roms like PA, Pac man etc
I'm really disappointed from the battery life, it drains so quickly
I tried NEAK kernel but it didn't help, can some one help me out to get good battery life out of cm10.1?
Thanks in advance.
I use carbon rom and neak kernel and i get about 22 hours with 5 hours screen on that's the best aosp rom i have seen for the battery
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I got 10 hours on average(Which i guess is ok)when I was on Cm 10.1. I used to set CPU to about 400 MHz when I was just listening to music but 200mhz when it was sleep. It was a hassle to do but it did help.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Im curious aswell. Im running cleanrom ace 4.9 and im getting around 1day 12hrs with 4 hours screen on. I want to move away from stock again but can never get more than 16 17 hours on aosp.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I heard devil kernel is pretty good with battery on AOSP, also try downloading greenify from the play store. It take apps that constantly run in the background that aren't in use and hibernates them. I'm a heavy user of youtube and radios and I get around 20-24 hrs. But on light days I get over a day. I'm currently using ProBAM
The most I could ever get was always 5hours screen time and thats after using Greenify, Droid wall and uv/uc with slimbean, carbon and pa. I've heard of some people getting upto 7 hours on aosp but they never seem to share the setup, most likely in airplane mode though. Ultimately battery life was always an important factor for me so I reverted back to tw roms. Sad.
