Uninstall the anti-virus software, I think that is causing the problem ,
Also I think that it is a problem inside the rom,
I think it must be too much ram usage.
Are u using stock rom or custom rom

The best anti virus is common sense. Anti virus software will only slow down your system, be it your phone, your PC, your laptop, etc.
Please provide as many information as you can. What firmware are you using? What Android version? What video players did you try? It looks like a regular lag/stutter for me. Remember that Grand is not a fast phone, try not to play full HD videos with massive bitrate.

I'm using stock rom jellybean 4.2.2 and I watch lots of movies, series, Videos, etc on mx player but since some time videos n stuff r getting stuck so I tried to watch in bs player , the prob prevailed, I downloaded anti-viruses and scanned my phone several times it shows that there is no prob in it.
I still have 400 MB on my internal memory and I recently downloaded gta san andreas on my phone which works perfectly fine without lagging

Uninstall the anti viruses dude. There's no need to install such thing on other systems than Windows XP.
Are the videos HD (720p/1080p) with high bitrate? I personally had lags and stutter while playing a 6 mbps H.264 1080p video on Vplayer, so this could be the issue.
Do you have any app running in the background while playing the video?
Do you use SW/software or HW/hardware decoder in the player setting? I personally had massive lag using software decoder on Vplayer.

I have been watching these series since long time but since sometime it started lagging. Its the same quality in all the videos
I trief both hardware and software decoders but it lags in both.
There are no apps running in the background.
But my ram isn't reducing from 500MB is that a factor.
I'm a user of grand 2.. strange I have the same exact problem as you.. I'm on kitkat stock.. I never had issues before while playing hd videos even on high ram usage.. gave a restart it didn't work .. I think factory reset will work, mah I'd loose my data.. mx player with sw decoder and hw+ decoder works fine,I guess ill stick to that for a while
i too have the same problem...what to do dont know......anyone knows abt the prob please let us know....

Wow you're able to play 720p movies? I get lag with each video player out there. Rockerplayer, vplayer, arc.. but dvd quality runs perfect.
CM7 nightly 20 oc'd to 1.4ghz.

no like i said i cannot run 720p movies so there is no solution for this ?
The.Simpsons.S22E11.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION
^Did you get that from the pirate bay? Shame on you.
Try an overclock it should help some. I stream 720p flash movies and they actually perform quite well at 1.516Mhz performance, but it does overheat after a while. If you are not rooted and OC is not an option, You might have to convert the file to 480X800 to get it to play smooth. Be warned though that this can take from 20 minutes to 6 hours depending on the speed of your computer, and results in image quality loss.
If you ever get out of sync issues, just jump back a few seconds and it will resync itself. For flash movies I usually resync it every 15 minutes or so.

You can try Act 1, I have had it play a few formats the others wouldnt...I like Rockplayer, Vplayer not so much. Meridian is another good video player.
Try arcMedia
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
ya arc media is pretty good
If anyone is still looking for more video player choices, Vital Player seems pretty good. Either pretty new, or I just haven't found it before. Good interface, seems compatible with lots of my videos, and automatically selects software or hardware decoding based on the video (without having to select or toggle like Rock Player). I've seen some complaints in the Market reviews about the free version showing ads during video playback. But I haven't seen this. I have AdFree running, so it seems to be doing its job. Also, Vital Player is not yet compatible with Gingerbread, so it doesn't work on CM7.
Since I've switched to CM7, its Rock Player for me. It plays almost everything I've thrown at it, without lag. vPlayer lagged like crazy for me on some videos. ArcMedia has lots of things I didn't like about the interface, and lagged on some WMV files.
I've been using the stock video player since day one when I got my G2. I play all my videos at 720P after converting to .mp4 using handbrake. No lag issues at all.
Hello, my friends. I'm currently using ICS Arconium ROM (.64 baseband) in My Arc S and I'd like to know if is there possible to run mkv hd (720p) videos (movies, series etc) smoothly. When I try to do so, most of the times it goes laggy. Is there any app or tweak to fix this? Thanks.
Try MX Video Player, i can play my video smoothly with it
I tried this player, but it doesn't work very well here. It keeps laggy. I heard that DICEPLAYER is the best mkv player for android, and I just bought it (about 6 dollars), but when I start it, it crashes... =\ Thank you anyway
I have tried 1080p streams on the phone, and it was smooth, but I had the stock ROM when I tested that.
I believe our phone doesn't support .mkv out-of-the-box(correct me, if wrong), but you can get it work with RockPlayer(also plays .avis!)
I am using vplayer which can play most of the file formats.
I tested all of these, guys... Not successfully =\ Some of them screw up the subtitles (my native language is portuguese, they doesn't accept characters as ^ ´ ´ ~ etc) and in ALL of them mkv doesn't work well. I think that Arc S has a strong enough processor to run this format without any lag, but it's not working...
You can try MoboPlayer. But make sure, that you Enable "Soft decoding" in menu. If still doesn't work, you should try to download "MoboPlayer codecs" but you must download right version for arc S prosessor. I think it is ARMV7VFP3 but I am not sure of that.
Just tried Moboplayer... But no changes.
I'm sure that my Arc S is powerful enough to run this kind of video, but it's not working fine. The video/audio are pretty out of sync... The audio runs normal, but the video gets slow and/or laggy. I tried overclocking my processor to almost 2Ghz, but for nothing.
I contacted the developer of DicePlayer and he responded... He provided me with a working version of the app (no crash when starting), but the lag/sync problem continued.
See what he said: "I may need to check with the device, but currently I don't have the device. In my opinion, ICS needs more heap memory than Gingerbread, so the main problem is from lack of memory. Anyway I'll check it and try to resolve the playback issue."
Obviously the Arc S processor is nor guilty for the lag, but possibly the low level. Maybe a memory optimizer will answer my problem?
New response:
Hi,
The single core Qualcomm chipset has some weak point to decode the H.264 MP/HP video frames, so it may depend on the video files. I don't know that is the reason or not. I'll check the issue when I get the device, but I don't know when it is.
We can watch mkv videos @720p with hardware acceleration but most of the films and shows are encoded with profile level 4.1 and our phone can play only videos with profile 3.1/4.0. This levels can be changed within 1 second using H264LevelEditor. I always change it to 3.1 and almost every movie is running perfectly. With 4.0 I can't get it to play. But even with this change I couldn't play one video. Don't know why but the only one difference I noticed was "Format settings, ReFrames". Sometimes it is 5 frames and someetime 8 or 9. But dunno if it's the problem
I use diceplayer on arconium 7.2 with latest doomkernel.
btw. It was discussed before. Use search next time.
4.1, 4.0 or 3.1 or even 3.0 mkv 720p videos are running exacly the same way... It plays, the audio is OK but the video is laggy and slow, what makes them become out of sync with the audio...
Because you are playing videos with app that plays it in software mode, not in hardware mode. It's normal that phone can't decode 720p video with software mode. You need to get videos to play in hardware mode. BSplayer has it's own hardware support but it's still not what it's suppouse to be. The only app that play in hardware mode mkv videos with profile level 3.1 for me is DicePlayer. And it's doing it without any glitches or lags. It's perfectly A/V synced
I bought DicePlayer yesterday, I'm running my videos on it. All levels are now in 3.1, and I realized that some of them run in SW mode, and some in HW mode. When it runs in hardware mode, everything goes pretty fine... When in software mode, I get the problems. How can I "force" HW mode? Is there a way? Thanks.
You can't force hardware mode. I don't know why some videos can't be played. It must be something with encoding videos, some settings. You can compare parameters of videos that are working with those played in software mode. There must be some difference and maybe there is a way to change it fast.
I also use MX Video Player with the additional codec on my LT15i but experience no lagg at all.
I watch mostly The Walking Dead in 720p MKV
I am at 1.5 GHZ on doomkernel so maybe you could consider overclocking.
Greetz
MX player. No lag at all. I am watching Bleach episode right now
Alright, some updates.
All my mkv files are level 3.1 level now... But still some of them can't run in HW mode. The video starts to play (diceplayer, of course) in HW mode but 1 second later it gets an error and returns to SW (laggy) mode. Half of my 720p mkv videos can run like a dream in hardware decoding (3.1 level), but some of them just can't, even in 3.1 level.
For example, The.Big.Bang.Theory.S05E05.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION can run very smoothly. Hardware deconding. Butt The.Big.Bang.Theory.S05E17.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION can't do the same, it goes only in SW.
What's the difference?!?! What else can I change?
Thanks.
Maybe is because your video was compiled in 10bits, nothing to do until somebody releases a player that supports 10bits well
But you can try MOBO, it lags at the start but after 2mins start running normal
I think you have to play it with MoboPlayer dude
couple of questions about streaming to the gio. which program works best and with which settings? i have real problems when streaming anything other than low res avi files. cant seem to get the transcoding options right on the pc end. also is there a player thats best for it? what causes the choppyness? is it the cpu more than the video hardware on the phone? i've tried stopping all running apps in the background and its still not smooth. any suggestions aside from manually converting every file? its gotten to where im almost ready to get another more powerful phone. i've tried several roms hoping for some sort of hardware acceleration but havent had much luck.

Which rom are you using, if you are on cm9 or 10 I understand that streaming won't be that good. but if you are on stock rom or something like Enhanced236 it's indeed weird. I got a few tips if that's the case. Try using MX Player, overclock your device when your watching a video (min:800 max:800), download the video instead of streaming it, trying to watch something in 1080p only will be rough on your phone, try converting the video to 320x480.

yeah i've been converting lately. seems easiest to just change resolution doesnt take long with handbrake. still would be nice if it was automatic plug and play. currently using enhanced rom. will try stock rom though just to see.
So I just recently got updated to jellybean stock from HTC (using HTC ONE X) 4.1
I never had previous problems on ICS of this nature...
All seems well until I try to play 2k (2560x1440) and some (most) 1080p videos web dl of series. (mkv or mp4)
Problem being that the screen doesn't render anything...its just black, I get the control for the media player but no actual video stream, i have audio as well, the doesn't sound like its lagging or anything, I am also able adjust brightness, volume, seek bar works as well, what I noticed is when I took a screen shot with htc default player it took the image and capped it and it was viewable...
I have tried the following: (which all use to play 2k and 1080p files no problem besides the random cutting out but i think thats htc's aggressive ram saving bs)
Mxplayer
Vplayer
default player
dice player,
all do the samething
any ideas?
Have you tried MX Player's HW+ renderer? If all else fails, could you upload the video somewhere and let me test it?

I am on complete stock everything
I still don't understand why mine wont play it, friend is also problems,
I'm thinking I should just root and load custom rom... only reason I'm keeping it stock is for warranty but my insurance covers anything and more that would happen to it..
this problem and the removal support of MASS STORAGE (don't like the MTP thing) like a flash drive, is another nail in the coffin for this (stock)rom
Hello everyone. At first I have to say that english isn't my first language so please be understanding.
I've just bought new Note 3 and was pleased with it, until I've found that something is wrong with playing videos. When I try to watch some videos(for example anime) online, it is stuttering. Audio is ok but video lags like hell. Lets take videos from www*auby*no/files/video_tests/ (sorry I had to change "." with "*" because I was unable to post link to another site )as an examples.First I tried playing them online using official player and MX Player(using hardware decoding and software decoding). Then I downloaded them and tried playing again. While playing online using official player, every movie except Shrinkage and Shrinkage 2 was choppy. Playing them with use of MX Player with H/W resulted int the same thing(video lags), but when I changed to S/W everything run smoothly(except first two movies). Next I downloaded them and again tried to play them with official player, and guess what? Everything was ok. The same was with MX Player with H/W and of course S/W.
I also tried to play movies online with worse resolution (480p) and they were ok but other videos with 720p were stuttering. I also tried to play video in 720p using mobile-friendly online player and had lags, but when I played THE SAME video using not mobile-friendly online player(with usage of Flash Player) it was ok...
So dear friends I don't know what to do so I am counting on your help, because I really want to be able to watch movies online on this badass screen.
Try DicePlayer. Still one of the best players IMO, and one of the few that can play videos directly off of Windows network shares (though I use ES File Explorer to browse and Dice to play)
No stutter here playing even 10+Mbps 1080p h264 over wireless from samba shares on my NAS. (Haven't tried 20Mbps yet)
Well, I've tried this DicePlayer and it is really nice but only with playing videos where I can choose which player to use. If I, for example want to watch a movie on dailymotion I can't choose if I want to use MxPlayer or DicePlayer or something else. I have to watch it using dailymotion player (right?) and using these kind of players make videos stutter. That's my problem.
Note 3 has a problem. Verizon and ATT versions also show stuttering when streaming video. I have it in YouTube and other videos that streamed from a website.
We shouldn't have to use third party players, especially when it's not even an option (can't choose one) or in the case of youtube it's an app. This is nonsense. Samsung needs to address this issue. How can we contact them? I've been trying to figure that out.

I never said it was every handset. But I've seen complaints regarding this issue on t mobile, verizon, att and the international version. I haven't checked others.
Try any hd video. They show it the most. But if you don't have the issue I don't expect you to see symptoms.
Try another browser with java support like maxthon
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Ok. I've noticed another thing. Stuttering happens only with films in HD. For example I've played some film from vimeo in (probably) 480p and it was fine, but after playing it in 720p lags occurred. Also I've tried maxthon but it didn't help.
So, to sum up everything for now, stuttering occurs when I try to play HD films online, where I can't choose players like DicePlayer or MxPlayer and have to use "built-in" online players (for example on Dailymotion or Vimeo) and also when I try to play films online (which I can play using players on my note) using official player or MxPlayer with H/W or H/W+.
I talked to Samsung via Chat and the guy said he's never heard of this issue. I find that amazing since I've seen the complaints all versions of the Note 3.
We shouldn't have to watch videos in 480p and we shouldn't have to switch browsers. All this does is try to avoid running into a problem that shouldn't be there to begin with.
It's a high end device with a low end problem. Something is wrong. I suggest you all that are having issues to tell Samsung about it. Call or chat or do some type of communication.
I've talked with someone from samsung via live chat and he said that if phone doesn't have problem with playing films on sd card it isn't problem with phone itself. He also said that he will pass it to proper department. Also doesn't this problem seem like this one? Maybe it's not problem with note 3 but with JB 4.3?
Yeah you're right, can't stream some HD videos, especially on vimeo. Youtube is fine for me on full hd. Anything downloaded plays perfectly though.
I've had this issue on two different T-Mobile notes. HD videos in any browser for me stutter. I'm hoping its software related and can get patched soon.

I hope that it will come out soon if it's software related, because if it was hardware related I would have to change it and it restrains me for now from rooting it.
